Yeah,

it's windows, and it could most likely be a firewall issue.
Since this isn't MY computer per se...
I don't really want to disable anything if I don't have to,
couldn't I just make an exception for the port in the firewall?

Oh,

I was trying to mine Dogecoin with pooler cpuminer 2.3.2,

I am able to mine Litecoin with Scryptminer, but that uses port 80,
which is almost always open from my understanding,

I keep thinking maybe it's a port issue... but maybe cause I'm a noob.

Hello,

I'm trying to connect to a mining pool, but I get this error:

Stratum connection failed:  failed connect to <pool URL>:<port number>; no error

What does "no error" mean?

My best guess this is something to do with the port not being available?

I'm not sure though...

Checked in cmd with netstat -a, and could not see that the specified port was listening...
but not sure if that has any relation to my problem or not.

Anybody want to give me a gentle shove in the right direction?

Fair enough,

since it's a pain in the ass to change them, I'll just leave my miners there anyway.

How do we check if the pool (and wallet) is on the correct block chain?

Such Hello:

I have been mining in dogepool.net, and noticed after the whole split block chain fiasco, that I am no longer receiving confirmed credit.
Is this affecting other pools as well? My last credit is listed as "unconfirmed".   The pool is advertised as being on the correct block chain.
Mind you my hash rate isn't spectacular, but I was able to generate credit before...
Should I just move to another pool?  How can I confirm they are on the correct block chain?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
