People usually use the Archival for testing.

Thank for this.
Locking the thread already.
2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Your best advice regarding Cryptocurrencies on: July 25, 2025, 06:37:03 PM
My best advise I can give to a newbie is;
Invest with what you can afford to lose (when it comes to altcoins), while with all you have when it comes to Bitcoin.
Never take loan to invest in cryptocurrency (Bitcoin or altcoins).
Always invest for the long run (Bitcoin).
When you have succeeded to invest in any crypto asset (Bitcoin mostly) take off your attention from it, to avoid wanting to withdraw when the market is down or take profit when it is not due.
3  Other / Meta / Any Quarantine Section on the forum? on: July 25, 2025, 06:29:33 PM
This came to my mind to know if there is a section of the forum where one can create a thread to carry out some tasks before publishing the finished work, like a quarantine section, where the testing and trials are first done and the finished work is brought out for all to see or just start with the work until it finishes in the appropriate section of the forum.

If there is, I will be very glad to be directed to such section. Thanks.
4  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Do you take the forum as your fulltime workplace? on: July 25, 2025, 06:18:40 PM
If dey employ me as a moderator or  full staff i go do ooo Angry

This made me create this post, because I feel like there are members in the forum that are here 24/7, and they take the forum as their workplace. For instance, some members who makes up to 20 to 40 posts a day, and are active members in the forum, going round, creating things that can be of use to the forum and its members. One who is not dedicated to the forum might find difficulties getting the benefits available on the forum, and to get those benefits, one has to dedicate their time/efforts to get better results/returns from the forum.

Everything in this forum is not easy to get merit sef no easy as well as to sum up.

To earn merit on this forum is not hard, just make sure you make yourself useful and be active. Learn from those that are earning merit. Learn the pattern of their posting and see how useful their posts are. I will recommend you the general boards of this forum to learn about that.

I have been trying to follow these steps, but its not that simple to get along with. Can you please help make provision of that general boards of the forum to learn how these posts making goes.
5  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Do you take the forum as your fulltime workplace? on: July 23, 2025, 08:48:30 PM
Greetings to my fellow Nigerians in the forum. I believe everyone is well.

As a workman/woman in Nigeria, we know that the value of our currency is not increasing, rather almost on monthly/year basis, we experience devaluation, and because we have acquired the knowledge and seen the importance of working for jobs paid in dollar over naira, we take the online form of jobs/activities more seriously.

Knowing the value and appreciation of Bitcoin, the forum offers different activities that pays in Bitcoins. This makes me want to ask, is it ideal as a Nigerian to take the forum as a fulltime workplace, with the following reasons;

1. Payments are in currency(ies) having more value to naira when converted;
2. There are numerous activities one can render and be paid in BTC/USDT;
3. Payments are made on weekly basis or even daily as the case maybe;

So, do you take the forum as a fulltime workplace and why?

Would like to hear you views over this, thanks.

6  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Was unemployment part of your Bitcoin/crypto journey? on: July 23, 2025, 08:29:51 PM

Was unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey?
If yes, how did it happen?

I was not yet at the stage of looking for job before knowing about Bitcoin/cryptocurrency.

I heard about Bitcoin many years ago and that was when I finished my secondary school, during holidays. I had this feeling deep down in me that gone are the days where man must work under the sun on daily basis to meet up with life expenses (a feeling that can't be expressed, if you know what I mean). This mindset stayed with me for a period of time before I started doing lots of hunts when I got my first phone. Though at the point of this mindset growing up in me, I haven't gotten to know about crypto currency or anything related. I started with Facebook giveaways, and from there I started seeing some crypto ads (bounty hunts/airdrops), until a childhood friend talked to me about it, that was when we started the chase. Though I backed down for some years (mostly hear in the forum), but I knew I have gotten a place that no matter how long, I will return here, because of the results I have gotten and seen, with no single doubt of the unlimited possibilities, and no restriction/barriers.

When I first received my earnings, I had some fulfillment deep inside me, my mindset has truly come into reality. Ever since, I knew I had a place in the internet that can be a surviving place for me, and here it is.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you allow your underage kid to use your detail for KYC after a big win. on: July 22, 2025, 10:42:04 PM
Well, we all know that under aged gambling is bad, and for such winnings to come, the parent(s) is/are aware of such activities been going on for a certain period of time before an outcome of a big win, of which was also communicated to the parents.

There's a saying, train up a child in the way they should grow, and when they are old, they will not depart from it. If this principle sticks with such a family, then the parents are either in the gambling system, or they approved such acts.

For me, I am not a gambler, but for a big win as you said, I will let use of my ID, otherwise, the child can look for someone else to make bargains with at the end of the day.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: your bitcoin is not yours. on: July 22, 2025, 10:33:55 PM
i am aware we all have different strategies and goals for our investments but i am sure that a lot of us are planning to hold bitcoin for the long term and it got me thinking what ways could we do to prevent us from being tempted to sell our bitcoins and spend it on unnecessary things

one way is writing off your bitcoins as not yours. that money is not yours to spend. just forget about it. the more you look at it, the more you will just want to sell it especially when you see the value of bitcoin.

do you also do this and does it really work for you?

I see your point, but one thing about investment is that what you put in stays in, and you need to have something that keeps you going without touching what has been kept in for the long run. It is okay to stop adding into the investment plan for the reason of needs, but don't take off from the investment if the need is not very crucial and necessary. Taking some discretion in one's investment is very crucial and here in the crypto industry, we know very well the importance and power of patience.
9  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Today's puzzle on: July 22, 2025, 10:22:48 PM
This is a very interesting puzzle and an educative one as well. I encountered this from a friend who had something similar to this, having sent some BTC out of his wallet, for about 24 hours, it didn't reflect back in his wallet and was not found in the destination. After checking all through and wondering why (thinking a wrong address was used), I then observed that at that moment there was high demands for transaction fee from the network, and the transaction fee was reduced by my friend when sending. After 24 hours, we finally saw it arrived to its designated address.
10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reason I prefer saving my money in exchange to Bank on: July 21, 2025, 11:39:22 AM
Banks like Opay and em kind no de charge person anyhow, instead, na you as a customer go de receive interest for those transactions you de do using their platform. If not for the government way been put one kin regulation for their body, way make them come de put charges for transactions, nothing of charges been de follow their own services.

When e come to this crypto side, e de safer if we put our money or crypto assets for wallet, so long as we know say we never wan use am, leaving our assets for exchange no too de safe, because them wan de like native banks, though in a higher level of usage. These exchanges (CEX) de prone to attacks, if not for the cases say exchanges like Bybit, Binance etc. done get the finance and reputation, dem for done fold and take off due to the attacks way done hit them.

So, I go say, e de better to keep our money for wallets, and move them to exchange when we want convert am to our fiat currency. Using open source wallet, na be the safest wallet to use.
11  Other / Meta / Re: CAPTCHA service not working on: July 19, 2025, 06:43:52 AM
So long there is internet service on your device, you can try changing your location at the moment or it could be the browser that needs to be updated to have a better experience accessing the forum.

TIP: Grab and bookmark your captcha bypass code.

If you login from your captcha bypass url, there is no captcha. Just don't share it with anyone otherwise they can try to brute force your password (since there is no captcha and it only works for your account).

https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php

Does it mean that everyone who clicks on the provided link above automatically gets his/her own captcha bypass? Just curious to know, as I have not had any difficulty with the captcha when accessing the forum.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: want to know btc in the future..... on: July 19, 2025, 06:24:40 AM
At that period of time, the use of Bitcoin would/could be mainly on trading, holding as a store of value, and there will be lots of implementation of different services that will take the use of Bitcoin on daily basis. 2140 is a very far time from now, and as such, the possibility of creating a way for the physical use of Bitcoin could be brought to reality. As far as it could be, so are the unimaginable possibilities under shadowed.

All answers that are provided are different opinions and views of people. The future has the right answers to all questions directing to it.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Trump to approve crypto investment for Retirement Accounts on: July 19, 2025, 06:04:55 AM
When we look at the world today, any bank account that has gotten to the stage of retirement is an account that has little to no idea on crypto currencies. It is announced that President Trump prepares to sign an executive order to allow retirement accounts to take part in investing into cryptocurrencies. These accounts are said to be about 401k accounts, going beyond the traditional investment of stocks like gold and its likes.

If this order is signed, what will be its effect on the market?
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC to $500, are you still buying? on: July 19, 2025, 05:53:34 AM
If the price falls to such level, that is a bad signal, and something when wrong with the protocol of Bitcoin. It will badly affect big investors and even the little hodlers will also be affected. Bitcoin has come this far to go to such a low price. It will be difficult for it to rise again, cause the public will be scared of as it might not recover from such deep. The entire crypto community will face criticism from those who never invested in it.

If we see it at $50k, there trust level will even drop, because it is not supposed to reach that level again, considering its current price mark in the market.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is next for bitcoin? on: July 17, 2025, 02:57:46 PM
if we thought $150k this year was unattainable, bitcoin is proving us wrong as it reaches almost half of that value

it makes me think what would be next now that bitcoin is reaching prices never been seen before. will there be a boost of countries finally legalizing bitcoin? i am sure that the good also comes with the bad. as bitcoin becomes extremely profitable, ill intent people will start to come to bitcoin as well and try to fool a lot of bitcoin investors so be careful.

That is true, and the possibility of Bitcoin giving us a mind-blowing price break before the end of this month is possible. If the price can really reach $125k before month end, the tendency of touching the $150k will be attained by the ending section of the year. Though, this all maybe price speculations, be there are some glimpse of reality so blur to properly visualize.

The rate of accepting the legal use of Bitcoin is getting wider spread these days, though, some countries still have their ban/restriction on it, but these all will die down, because it has been publicized that Banks tells their big investors/shareholders to put some of their funds into Bitcoin, as it is a good form of investment that yields well in a long run.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 million BTC, is it enough? on: July 17, 2025, 02:29:24 PM
Yes I think it's enough
Because each Bitcoin can be divided into 100,000,000 units Satoshis sats. 1BTC= 100,000,000 sats, so this means that there are effectively 2.1 quadrillion Satoshis in total
So even if Bitcoin gets to a very skyhigh price, there will be no need to hold a whole Bitcoin to your self. We can just make transactions and save in tiny fractions. so that's it, if Bitcoin had an unlimited supply like regular Money, it would lose purchasing power and value over time

Its limited supply is what makes its valuable and that is the unique feature Satoshi added upon all the technological ideas that follows Bitcoin. Deep into the feature, the value of every single fractions of Bitcoin will hold a valuable price, and that will make it remain valuable no matter how long it goes.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stay safe from bad news about Bitcoin on: June 12, 2025, 01:56:44 PM
There are almost many people who knew about Bitcoin long ago but they could not imagine that the price of Bitcoin would increase so much and become a popular currency. So they are disappointed and they often talk negatively about Bitcoin. So it is better to always keep your distance from those people.

Well, to an extent you are right in this point of yours, and why I said to an extent is this; if one who is already in the system and have made profits from Bitcoin on several occasions and someone could/can still give him reasons why he/she should stop his/her Bitcoin/crypto related activities and the person stops, that is where you are right, otherwise, the reasons of such a person who regrets his actions of not investing earlier and now sees negativities in Bitcoin related activities is a person who is scared of taking risk in anything he does, and anyone who has benefited from Bitcoin and give heed to his negative talks about Bitcoin is the one with bigger problems.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin capital of the world? on: June 12, 2025, 01:36:29 PM
Since the US started talking openly about crypto currencies, and the idea of taking it as a reserve strategy, other countries hasn't spoken much about Bitcoin, with the reference of their country as a Bitcoin Capital country. This becomes the race every country wants to take part in, to show that they have a higher possession of Bitcoin's circulation. At the end, who will give the proof or records of these possessions.

I see this as part of some political stuff and a more attraction on centralisation coming around the crypto space in larger range on the long run.
19  Economy / Reputation / Re: "I am Satoshi Nakamoto's son" scam on: May 25, 2025, 05:08:56 PM
It will be very shameful if there be People who will fall for such kind of spam post. The part of sending funds to a certain account is a strong signal that this is a pure scam. Over the years of Bitcoin existence, I am not sure there have been such a situation where Nakamoto himself came up with such publication.

Very hilarious. If his father (as he claims) stayed for all these years in silence and off public display, he could not ask him why the long time behind shadows, and get answers why he should also take of his father's footsteps.

A pure scam that truly only the unlearned will fall for.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who needs luck? on: May 25, 2025, 04:55:53 PM
In other to enjoy gaming/gambling, one needs to take away the mindset of making money out of gambling, and be sufficed with what the result might end up. Taking gambling for entertainment is the very best way to enjoy gambling, and as for luck, it goes 5 & 6 when it come to gambling. A little thing can take away winning off one's hands when there is no luck.

If gambling is really on strategy, who will win/loss, as major gamblers has taken time to understand the system and tried to develop one strategy that works well and give high positive returns, but on a bad day (no luck), no matter how good one can be, winning might be difficult to get.
