1  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 22, 2023, 09:54:13 PM
Post-Covid really brought with it a lot of things, inflation being one of the most critical. Inflation has hit the world hard, every country is experiencing significant rising cost in basic things. The fact that there's too little money to cover for ones needs makes it sickening. In addition to this, the cost of items keep going up on daily basis with no hope of coming down.

To cushion the effects of this situation, one needs to take strategic actions. If you live in a third world country with weaker currency against the dollar, best best is to hold more of your fiat in the stronger currency. Only exchange funds to meet day-to-day expenses. As much as possible, cut down on unnecessary expenses.

Inflation can never go away, it will always be here. Best thing is to make certain lifestyle adjustments to not be blown away by it.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 20, 2023, 01:08:45 PM
I have been thinking about trading in Bitcoin for quite some time now. I have been involved with Bitcoin for a long time but am still thinking about investing here. I used to run DPS in bank for 30 dollars per month for 5 years, this DPS will complete 5 years this month. I'll get roughly $1800, I don't think it's much of a savings to keep that money in the bank. Bangladesh is suffering from severe dollar crisis due to which many banks are likely to go bankrupt. The names of those banks have not yet been published by any mass media. Because of the economic condition of Bangladesh, I want to invest my money in Bitcoin. I still don't understand if my decision is right, please let me know your opinion

Good decision to invest into Bitcoin, or let's say cryptocurrency in general. As everyone has already rightly suggested, don't put the whole $1800 into crypto. Keep portion free to use to meet other life needs. Also, the amount you're investing shouldn't be only on Bitcoin, diversify your investment, if you have a broader knowledge, You can also put some in stocks and metals.
From my own pov, given the market conditions now, I think you're better off with regular trading, long term right now is uncertain. In all you do, stay smart and make good moves.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 20, 2023, 10:12:18 AM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.

Quit gambling now!

If you decide to quit gamble or take gamble as entertainment only, welcome to join me.

I hate gamble!

Update 1
Boys. You can't imagine how relax I am when decide to quit gamble. Here is the way. I will stream all my gambling behavior with recording. No stream No gamble. If you are going through the same situation, join me. You will obtain a new life.

You're quite within your right to tender Your views on gambling, but outrightly calling it bad and telling everyone to quit it is kinda far reaching. I Know a couple of persons that have built a fortune through gambling and also those who became wretched through same gambling. The best approach is for everyone to know what works for them and also moderation is key.
Gambling is quite addictive because of the dopamine rush it creates. But that doesn't make it bad in itself, it's basically how people are irresponsible with gambling that's the bad part.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: July 15, 2023, 06:24:24 PM
Half of the rich people keep continue to swim in fame and wealth because of their occupied landed properties. If you own a land, housing estate you can be sure living great but this wealth are mostly control by political leaders and BD individuals......if you're blessed enough begins to occupy property's that can sure your next generation... In my country Nigeria if you don't have any of this properties forget yourself, you will end up making life mortgage and tenancy. Land never depreciates it keeps buying higher that's why I considered it the best investment. What do you think?

I quite very much agree to this take. When I started crypto earlier, I saw it as the only reasonable investment one can and should do. But along the line, I realized I was wrong. Investing in landed properties can never be outdated no matter how much the digital World grows. Sometime last year, people struggled to but lands in the metaverse, today those investments are Worth nothing, some are almost not even existing again.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 13, 2023, 11:20:11 AM
Bitcoin hodling is something almost everyone on this forum is eager to partake in or already partaking in.
However I did some research and discovered most forum members do a lot of Bitcoin transaction, and sometimes leaves them with little or no hodlings in their wallets. Of course Some on the other hand have most of their Bitcoins as hodlings in their wallets  although they still transact with Bitcoins . Holding Bitcoin is a choice however for those that have Bitcoin holdings how do you manage to minimize Bitcoin transactions to increase your hodlings.

Though hodling Bitcoins can be tempting to transact with sometimes

Personally, I believe people most of the time, have Bitcoin for holding and also a few stash for transactions. The thing there is that moving Bitcoin round all the time from your holding wallet is really not a wise choice for me, especially when the holding wallet is a cold wallet. Best bet is to hold some in exchanges or dex wallets for day-to-day spending, then long term holds should be kept safe in a cold wallet.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is crypto trading so similar yet so different from Forex trading? on: July 08, 2023, 10:42:47 PM
Trading Forex and Bitcoin almost borders on same fundamental principles, but the differences are quite there which separate each from the other. The crypto market is highly speculative and prone to manipulation. A person with a good amount of funds can manipulate any low cap alt, this is not possible in forex at all. Some people will say that crypto is trading 'out of thin air' commodities and that's quite true, cus most of the tokens are just mere cash grab..

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 19, 2023, 10:32:15 PM
Money is good, but knowledge is better. Both works well to compliment each other to a certain extent. Having the knowledge and not the money to invest in what you know leads to the what is called 'Knowledgeable broke person'. Aside from Bitcoin, in the general scheme of life, it's like learning a trade or handiwork but not having the money to set it up for yourself. You could do freelancing, raise some capital and set yourself up.
In all, money is very necessary to make the knowledge come to fruition.

Really Impressed reading through this thread. This is a very interesting and nice endeavour you have really going on there, would also want to do something like this in my local community. So many young minds are really tech savvy and should be nurtured at the very young age and introduced to things like Blockchain and it's benefits. If they start learning at this young age, it will grow their interest in technology and other similar things. Kudos on the good job.

12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price prediction? on: June 25, 2021, 11:50:02 PM
I've been searching for some form of price prediction platform (Paid or Free) for Bitcoin which is able to give some sort of indicators based on news whether the bitcoin price will potentially fall/rise? Is that a thing? if so, have any of you used it or have success with it?

I have not seen anything like that and even the ones that offer something similar to what you want, their tips are not successful most of the times. These can of stuffs are best though by you because the best way to get things done is to do it by yourself. Instead of patronizing a paid service, I would prefer you invest the time and pay yourself to learn the skill of predicting bitcoin and entire crypto currency markets.
Instead of seeking this service, why not do it your own.  Because there's no one of us can able to predict the Bitcoin price accurately and even in most traders, they had their own research just to predict the market and have an idea when it will fall down Bitcoin in the market.  All you have to do is study the fundamental and technical analysis.

If I were you, just invest what you can afford and wait until your profit was there and that is the right time to sell.

I said the same thing too. I have plenty of people prefer to receive signals and tips than having to do the analysis themselves.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Meme Coin Will Survive Long on: June 20, 2021, 03:10:35 PM
Doge coin of cos, because it's the only meme coin with strong community backup but I believe that meme coins will bring the biggest loss when bear market gets here, the lack of a good use case will make the coins lose lots of value
Aside the king of meme coins which is dogecoin, Shiba inu seems like a very good meme coin which might survive in the market, just take a good look at the marketcap it has right now, although its still new(just months old) and hasn't been around during a bear market, but with the community it has at the moment, I think it can survive even in a bearish season, just that the value will deminish greatly in a bear market since its just a meme coin with no use case.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prices are low, time to buy some good coin!! on: June 17, 2021, 07:45:10 AM
From your suggestion I think Avalanche is the most promising coin there, have heard about IOTA its an interesting project but it doesn't seem much promising like Avalanche, I'm not a fan of sushi swap I think pancakeswap is way ahead of every swap at the moment.
Prices have fallen A LOT recently and now, we have a great opportunity to buy some new alt coins cheap!!
But which projects are profitable and cheap?
Indeed prices dropped by half or more compared to when the market was very bullish during early May, now would be a good to buy those promising altcoins like eth, bnb, near, dot and atom, between them the only coin I'm very bullish about is Near protocol, it's like having eth 2.0 before there was eth 2.0,its very cheap right now, in maybe 5years from now I bet it would be worth more than the current price.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops Confusion on: June 10, 2021, 11:33:37 PM
Quote
Because for what I believe the meaning of "airdrop" is a way of giving a free coin/s to some wallet addresses without seeking any investment or doing nothing.
There are different types of airdrops some are given to those who hold a particular coin, while 90% of the times you will have to perform a little tasks in order to be eligible for the airdrop, this little tasks includes following the project on social media and retweeting their pinned posts or sometimes you might be asked to make a tweet about the project,so it's not always tasks-free.
Quote
Are those spreading all over around especially in this forum known to be an "airdrop" is considered an airdrop or bounty campaign since some of those are requiring people to fill up some of the forms or need to sign up or follow some social media accounts, etc?
Since you did some task or work to get those coins.
Airdrops aren't bounties, they are different its just that some projects organizing the airdrops prefer the airdrop participants to fill a form in order to make it easy for them to distribute the airdrop tokens.

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who is selling? on: June 08, 2021, 11:50:34 PM
Altcoins are paired with Bitcoin on crypto exchanges so it would be hard to make those desire changes because when bitcoin dumps in $ values, the sats prices in $ of these coins drop as well in addition to a general market price drop. Exchanges would have to make certain changes changes from the ground up to remove that effect. Otherwise, it's just going to be there.
People selling now are most likely normies that got in recently that are easily swayed away by news like china fud or elon musk negative comments and tweets and btc.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty managers should try to help bounty hunters get their rewards on: May 09, 2021, 10:55:02 PM
This is an issue that should be attended to . Bounty managers should always have it that they need to assist hunters to get what their reward is. Some developers have taken from hunters what their benefits are.

There are some points that should be tackled about this...

1. Ensure that rewards are distributed before they go into exchange. This is because when the coin goes into exchange and starts performing and increase, developers find it difficult to redeem the promise. Dego bounty is an example on that.

2. Always have a good bargain protection for hunters so that no matter what, the reward will go to the hunter after the bounty.

3. Suggest payment in valuable altccoins because protection of workers should be important to any company.
This is true, developers are really something else lately, they no longer like paying what was agreed at the start of bounty campaigns, instead they look for a way not to pay the bounty hunters, but for DEGO at the start distribution was promised but along the line they said users will have to claim the token on their platform and they gave a deadline for the bounty tokens to be redeemed, but with eth gas fees insanely high at that time many bounty hunters were unable to withdraw from their platform and now it seems there won't be any payment any longer, no matter what the bounty manager does, there will still be some greedy dev who wouldn't like to pay bounty after the bounty, I don't think there's much we can do to change that.
