Smarter than an idiot that thinks the Relive drivers include the blockchain dag fix. LOL
new future creators relive beta drivers have gpu workload switch so you can switch between mining and gaming drivers apparently...

I would love to see power company feature that would dynamically take current power rates in account and stop mining if it its not profitable and resume once profitable at a defined threshold that can be set. I know ComEd has an API that can be utilized for this.

ethically, no. i wouldn't do it. eventually it will be noticed by elevated temperatures/noise in the lab and will hamper your fellow students. Though no account logins is asinine. they kinda deserve to be hacked for lack of security of their students. you also have to assume there is most likely some basic monitoring software installed on a public computer. Though I wouldn't touch those computers with a ten foot pole.

Is there any comparision with Nicehash miner, for example. Is it more profitable? It should be enough more profitable with 3% including fee
You wanted a comparison - you got one.. Go to https://www.screenleap.com/winminer to see, live, two practically identical machines, each with Sapphire rx580, one running WinMiner and one running NiceHash. Enjoy! (Not sure how many users can watch this at the same time or how stable the broadcast will be...) works fine for me! sweet, keep it up. been running this on my rigs for the past few days. and really like what you are trying achieve. like others have mentioned more stats online would be nice and i'm sure you guys are still working on. 3% is steep though, but if you can tune your product to be best coin optimizer it can be it may make up for it. or maybe offer fee discount incentives for users that support and run your product over time... just some thoughts...

which CPU to pair with this?

I remember ZEC took quite a bit more PCIe in the earlier days. I'm sure with all the optimizations over the last few months, the requirements of the channel have gone down
Actually ZEC was more CPU intensive early on, not really PCIe intensive. My i7s were substantially faster with the same GPU then some of my older core 2 duos.

This might not be the correct place to ask but has anyone successfully deducted there rigs and expenses for mining? I have done a bit of googling but not definitive answer. Just looking for answers on how to go about it and should I even bother. I found this article helpful: http://www.bitcointaxsolutions.com/can-i-deduct-mining-costs/

Guys, I have a system with 5 GPUs, 3 R9 290 and 2 RX 480, all using usb risers with sata/molex adapter. He's been standing about 3 months 24/7. Today I smelled something burnt and found what is in the picture. Just the two that energized the RX 480. Do the RX 480 continue to extract more than pci_ex can support? Is there something wrong with my PSU? My RIG: Asrosk H81 Pro BTC Intel Celeron G1820 8GB RAM 3 R9 290 + 2 RX 480(all stock) USB risers Cougar GX 800 + Corsair CX 750 duude.. this is a typical newbie mistake. dont worry it happens. you need cooler cables. try to lookup "mining cables"... they will come in cooler colors, black is the worse ones. try to find ones with all white cables. put a fan pointed right at your cables until you fix this problem! unless you have the blue cables like me, they are watercooled. no fan needed.

Would it be possible to compile a compute 2.0 version of 0.5b? Thank you
|
|

FYI, using the compute 2.0 version, my old Fermis:
stock GTX 590 converted to hydrocopper block GPU1: 22-23 sol/s GPU2: 22-23 sol/s
GTX 480 hydrocopper 26-28 sol/s
(all stock clocks)
