I've never used the mac version, but assuming it is similar to the PC version, you should be able to simply click the receive coins tab. The "address" column will contain the strings you will want to enter into the watch-only field on Blockchain.info.

OK, but these are the addresses that you can create for each incoming transaction to determine who the sender is. I can only enter one public key into the "Add Watch Only Address" field in blockchain.info. Are you saying that I can pick any address and I should be able to watch the account?
No, I am saying you will need to copy each and every one of these addresses. If you want to watch your entire wallet, and your wallet has multiple addresses in it, you will need to watch multiple addresses. z

In order to watch your entire Bitcoin-QT balance, you will need to copy every address in your Bitcoin-QT wallet into the "Add Watch Only Address" field individually. This is because wallets may not be watched, while addresses can be.

Hope that helps.

A little bit of explanation...

A wallet contains many addresses, some of which are hidden from you. The watch-only feature doesn't work well with active addresses because when you spend money sent to a specific address, some (or all) of the unspent money is moved to a hidden address. That's the how bitcoin works. The watch-only feature is generally used to maintain a list of your normally inactive addresses, such as "paper" wallets.

What bitManXD wrote is not accurate. For a watch-only address, you provide the public address, and you can't spend it or "withdraw from it" unless you import it as a normal address using its private key.

Thanks for the helpful responses. So how do I get the public address of my Mac Bitcoin-QT wallet? I can't seem to find it easy through the GUI? Do I have to open up a file where bitcoin stores its data or through the console?

Hi all,

I started out with bitcoin by downloading the Mac Bitcoin-QT app and have my initial wallet as the wallet created upon launch.

Now checking out blockchain.info with it's 2-factor authentication have decided to create a second wallet there. There is a feature called "Add Watch Only Address" and I would like to be able to "watch" my initial Bitcoin-QT wallet.

So what address to I put in there? Do I create a new address in Bitcoin-QT to receive a payment and then paste that address as the "Watch Only" address? I don't think this will work.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thank you for your contribution.
I have been reading this thread for a while, and I would like to kindly ask you to discontinue your practice of putting something of this nature at the end of every post, particularly after those in which you insult the poster you then proceed to thank. Dropping this line will not make you seem any less business-like.

I'm just updating this with a couple of screenshots from our iPhone app. This app will be available on the iPhone only if Apple will let us put it there; they have a history of not doing so for other Bitcoin wallet providers in the past. However, there are several wallets that are on the store currently, so we hope this will be approved as well.

From the transfer tab of either the website or the app, either a contact's name may be entered, a bitcoin address, or an email. If an email is submitted that does not already belong to a Plexior user, an account is created for them and an email is dispatched notifying them that they have received bitcoins from you. Upon confirming their email and entering in a password, they gain access to the Bitcoins you sent them and may exchange, withdraw, or spend those bitcoins on their own.

Upon scanning a QR code, the information for the transfer is automatically filled into the form for you to confirm before clicking transfer and paying. The URIs encoded in a QR code may contain an email as well.

Introducing Plexipay - Coming June 2013!

What is Plexipay?
Plexipay is an online Bitcoin wallet - But so much more than that. Plexipay features instantly-confirmed internal transactions (from one Plexipay wallet to another) easy-to-use merchant & developer API tools, address aliasing and enhanced anonymity all designed with the goal of allowing normal users & businesses to take their personal wallet to the cloud.

Why should businesses use Plexipay?
Plexipay gives businesses all the benefits associated with Bitcoin, including the potential for complete anonymity, no chargebacks, and low-fees. Normal Bitcoin transactions are unfit for many businesses, however, because they can take some time to confirm. Plexipay eliminates this problem, while also greatly simplifying the checkout process for your clients. And if your clients don't have their own Plexipay wallet? No problem! Plexipay also allows merchants to accept outside Bitcoin transactions using the same easy interface, though they will have to wait a few minutes for verification of the transaction.

What's in it for the Consumer?
The consumer gets a user-friendly user interface through which to make his or her payments, as well as increased security. Rather than having to hand a credit or debit card to every merchant, and risking that the credit card may be lost or the number stolen, all of the information is contained in a smart phone. The consumer does not need to provide any information to the merchant: The merchant merely provides the consumer with a QR code, which is then scanned by a smart phone, the consumer enters a PIN on his or her device, and the merchant receives the coins instantly. Even if the smart phone is stolen, the money is safe.

Why should you trust us?
In order to facilitate instant transactions and other features, some of your Bitcoins must be deposited into your Plexipay web-wallet when making the transaction. This does mean that Plexipay will have the private key to this wallet. Over time, Plexipay will earn its user's trust. The more skeptical should note that consumer's only need to keep their Plexipay wallet the amount of Bitcoins they wish to spend on a daily basis, and it takes only a couple of minutes to fund your Plexipay wallet with Bitcoins from a private wallet. Think of your Plexipay wallet as an actual wallet that you carry around with you every day. You do not need to keep your entire savings in this wallet, only the amount you wish to spend in any one day. And you also save a trip to the ATM, as your Plexipay wallet can be funded within minutes using Bitcoin as well as a variety of e-currencies!

Quick Feature Rundown:
-Easy e-currency like SCI and API for merchant use, suitable for all business: Brick and mortar, or online!
-Instantly confirmed transactions.
-Quick deposit methods: Simpler than visiting an ATM.
-User friendly cloud-based e-wallet that can be accessed from your PC, phone, or tablet, featuring address aliasing.
-Irreversible transactions for the merchant, and the highest wallet security for the consumer.
-Easy deposit using Bitcoins as well as quick Bitcoin purchases to fund your wallet.
-Low, competitive fees.
… And much, much more!
