Hello Steve/Sportsbet,

Since 14 days ago I have a problem with my Sportsbet account. I wanted to start betting again at Sportsbet after a long time (1,5 years approximately) not being active. But I could not remember my username and email I used back then because it was so long ago. So I went into your livechat and asked if they could help me trace back my account, but they said they could not find it. They advised me to email to security@sportsbet.io and so I did. I explained to them the situation and on Friday 4th October this was the exact reply I got from security@sportsbet.io:

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

As we do not have a record of an existing account with the email address you would like to use, we would advise you to go ahead and create a new Sportsbet.io account as you requested.

Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email.

Kind Regards,
Sportsbet.io Player Safety and Assurance Team

So then on Saturday 5th October I went ahead and opened the account. All fine for 2 days, I made several bets, several deposits and several withdrawals. All fine. But then suddenly in the afternoon of Sunday 6th October I was auto logged out and then when trying to log in I saw a message "account disabled, please contact support". I was then asked to send my passport and a utility bill, which I did. Then I was asked to do a Veriff verification with my webcam, which I also did. And then 4 days ago they sent me an email that my account was flagged for multi accounting. Well, pretty logical ofcourse because I already explained to your security that I have an old account in which I did not log in for about 1,5 years of which I forgot the username and email. I know it is forbidden to have 2 accounts but this is precisely why I asked for permission from your security email before opening the new account. All I did was follow up the advice of your security department and now I am stuck with a disabled account with quite some balance in it for 2 full weeks already which I can't access. Rule 3.6:
"If you notice that you have more than one registered Member Account you must notify us immediately. Failure to do so may lead to your Member Account being blocked."
I notified your security team before opening the new account and they gave permission, and then now the new account still ended up being blocked. I think this is weird. Could be a genuine mistake, but after my last email 3 days ago with my explanation I have not heard anything back and my account is still not re-opened. Can you please have them look into this and solve this situation soon? I think 2 weeks is quite a long time to be locked out of your account when all I did was open communication and following up the advice I was given.

My username is LuckyHopeful. Hope you can help speed things up a little! Thanks in advance Steve!

P.S. Perhaps not necessary to defend myself, but I would still like to state that I am a long time poster on here and am not some third-world-country scammer who opens a new account here just to complain. I live in Germany and am a reasonable and conversational person.

Just wanted to follow up on this: after 3 weeks of waiting Sportsbet eventually sent me an email that my account will stay disabled but they did sent me my full balance remaining (just over 2BTC) to a wallet address of my choice. So I'm still a bit surprised why I cannot continue gambling but at least they were honest in giving me back my funds. I'm satisfied with the outcome but a bit sad I cannot bet at Sportsbet anymore.

Steve, is there any way I can open a new account with your permission? Or can I never bet at Sportsbet anymore?

Either way, I respect the decision!

But still, what is the highest number of confirmations you have ever seen? Or know of that somebody reported to have seen?
Bitcoin's first transaction?

I know Hal Finney's first transaction, which was included on block 170 and has 597017 confirmations.

Interesting! Thanks, was just curious.
5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Does a bitcoin transaction ever stop confirming? on: September 29, 2019, 11:47:54 PM
Does the number of confirmations keep increasing until eternity or is there any certain max? I've seen transactions from years ago have 30K confirmations. But what is the record actually?
AFAIK the number of confirmations is just how many blocks are ahead of the transaction.

For example, if the tx was included on block 50000, if we finally mine block 51000, it will have 1000 confirmations. So, someone would need to reorg the 1000 blocks to "undo" the transaction.

But still, what is the highest number of confirmations you have ever seen? Or know of that somebody reported to have seen?

Hi Fortunejack, is there any chance you might start offering Asian totals for in-play betting on the big soccer leagues? Right now you only offer regular total lines.
8  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: August 16, 2019, 01:50:26 PM
Wow I have not bet at Cloudbet in over 2 years, but I see now their odds on Barcelona-Bilbao.....they are amazing.Offering an only 2% margin (1,98 vs 1,98) is truly great. Do you have this low juice on all big leagues Cloudbet? Or only as a promo on this game?
And do you have the same margins in livebetting or lower odds there?

Does anybody know what sportsbook provider FortuneJack uses?

FortuneJack uses SteadyLogic to power their sportsbook as the book itself is an iframe that links to https://fjsport.steadylogic.com/en-US/prematch/home?sessionKey=demo. There's not a lot of info about SteadyLogic out there from what I've seen.

Just curious, why do you want to know?

I noticed that Fortunejack is a clone of Betcoin.ag and Playbetr.com (but with different margins). So I guess SteadyLogic is also the supplier of the latter two?

Weird btw that their website is timing out, and their Twitter has not had a posting since 4,5 years. Seems like a very cheap company with poor marketing.

From what I've seen, they have similar lines, but I don't think it's a straight up clone. A while back, FortuneJack had Canadian Premier League betting and I asked Betcoin to add it, assuming that they had a similar provider and would be able to. They told me that their provider did not offer CPL at that moment.

Well, check their live odds. They move at exactly the same time and the margin difference stays exactly the same percentage wise.
Maybe they did not want to add Canadian Premier League and didn't want to admit it and brushed it off on the provider.

I mean more than just 1 asian handicap. For example 3 different asian handicap lines per game. Only on big leagues of course.

Is this something for the future or will it stay 1 asian handicap market only?
David is right, I see more than one asian handicap lines being offered. If you're referring to the other asian handicap mentioned by SyGambler you could just do it manually split it in half you'll basically get the same odds. There's also the 1x2 handicap that's similar to asian handicap but with slightly better odds.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I mean in livebetting. I'm not talking pre-match betting.

Hello Fortune Jack!

Will you in the future also start offering asian totals and more than just 1 asian handicap line on soccer games? At least in the big leagues I mean....now the offer is a bit scarce to be honest compared with other books

FortuneJack, no answer?

We offer Asian Handicaps already ^^

15  Bitcoin / Electrum / Problem with synchronising on: June 09, 2019, 01:48:23 AM
Hello,

Have not used my Electrum wallet for about half a year now and just started using it again by trying to receive a payment now. However, the wallet keeps on synchronizing and I know this probably is because I have a too old Electum version (3.2.3). I know upgrading to the newest version will most likely fix the synchronizing problem, but before I do so I would like to ask the following: will my receiving addresses change after the upgrade?

I ask this because I already have a payment on the way to the current receiving address belonging to my 3.2.3 Electrum wallet.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: June 08, 2019, 08:36:51 PM
Okay thanks a lot for all your input. I already have bought a ledger nano and will start using it.

Writing the seed phrase on multiple different pieces of paper seems a good idea. If one gets stolen the thief still cannot access my coins. However, the downside is that if I lose 1 of the 4 parts of my phrase seed, I no longer have the complete phrase and it basically means I have lost the whole phrase.
Maybe, to tackle that problem the best solution would be write the phrase on 2 pieces of paper....divide them up into 4 parts each so I have 8 pieces of paper...1A,1B,1C,1D,2A,2B,2C and 2D and then store them all in separate locations. Would that be the best solution?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: June 08, 2019, 06:09:05 PM
Hello,

Suppose I would expand my BTC portfolio to 10 or 15 BTC.....how would you store such a big amount of coins?

Ofcourse I would use a hardware wallet, but if I store them all on 1 wallet and I lose the wallet, or the house gets on fire and it burns, then I have lost those coins forever? Or are there still ways to get to the coins somehow in that case?

Would you advise to store let's say 15 BTC on 3 different hardware wallets (5BTC each), or would you spread it out even more? Ofcourse I'm not gonna buy more than max. 3 hardware wallets but in that case maybe 15 different laptop wallets (Electrum, Jaxx, Exodus etc.) with 1BTC each on it is safer?

I'm looking for the safest way to store a big amount of BTC and to minimize the risks of losing a big amount.

Hello,

I signed up tonight and just made my first deposit. However my deposit was sent in BTC and then it gets credited in USD?

Account currencies can only be held in USD? This is a bad surprise for me....I was expecting to be able to hold my account balance in BTC if I deposit and withdraw via BTC.

Why are you the only bitcoin bookmaker who does not alllow customers to hold their balance in BTC?
And will balances in BTC be introduced soon?

Hi, Teepee, thank you for joining us.  We may be introducing alternative currency balances in the near future, however at this time the default currency is PBR which is a stable coin tied to USD.  The casino and sportsbook is 100% cryptocurrency.

We certainly are the only cryptocurrency only bookmaker that provides a stable account balance for our great players.  We certainly will keep you posted on your suggestions and very good feedback.

What do you mean by "the casino and sportsbook are 100% cryptocurrency" ? Does that mean in the sportsbook I can hold a balance in BTC if I want?

And what conversion rate website do you use to convert BTC into PBR (and the other way around) ?
