1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU high temperature after mining on: December 20, 2016, 01:31:46 PM
I understand but my point is that now, after leaving it on to mine, i am getting 80 C while playing AoE 2. When just a couple of days ago i used to play doom at max settings and not even hit 70 C.

I recently purchased a gtx 1080 and was overall very pleased with it, but a couple of days ago i decided to see how would it perform at mining. So i took the easiest route and downloaded nicehash miner, started it and left it on for the night. GPU was running at around 82 C and usage was 100%, which was as high as i have ever seen it get. Now in the morning i take a look and see that i have made ~ 1,50 $, obviously not worth it so i dont do it again. But now when i am running any games, even if they arent very graphically demanding, i get up to 80 C. The fans seem to be working fine it just seems like the card is getting hotter for no apparent reason. Has anyone ever expierienced something like this?
