this is a good development, bitcoin has entered every platform, and can make transactions easier.
the growth of bitcoin in Canada is very good, the geographical conditions and public enthusiasm there for bitcoin is very large.
In 2017, Canada banks conducted a survey, that 60% of Canada society uses bitcoin for investment.
60% seems very high ~~lots of people still frown at bitcoin --they probably secretly have holdings... lots and lots of storage businesses and farms are up here though for low power costs and frigid air to cool their units ~secretly widely accepted lol |

yeah no one wants to buy the cards that were UNAVAILABLE for 3 years because of people hoarding the cards. ..
we are used to our shitty gaming GPUs that were available 3 years ago.. we can wait longer for the next GPU that they will actually develop now since there is no more demand for GPU mining...
& gpu hoarders can build door stoppers

Has there been an asic where batch 1 didn't pay itself off in a reasonable amount of time?
Even the D3s paid themselves off fairly quickly, just not batches 4-5-6...
Easy, just take a look at the Cryptonight ASICs. They in no way paid for themselves since the Monero team was quick to fork. I hope you seriously don't encourage people to buy these ASICs. They are not what cryptocurrencies were invented for. ASICs turn crypto into a simplistic money making scam. these asics are gonna be da bomb so 2 of them will be like 40 1080 GPUs in one for 600W ? good deal |

It's cheap but the power efficiency is everything long term and better for density. Electrical infrastructure is a bottleneck. My rx 470s and 1070s outperform this substantially. Plus this is terrible for home mining if it sounds anything like my S9s. A GPU is made to be quiet. It is also nice that if I ever want to resell my cards I can get a little money. I can see how this can seem like a good idea but my Bitmain stuff needs constant attention. My GPU stuff I sometimes forget about because of the stability and ability to stay cleaner. I haven't bought GPU in over a year but I remember seeing mining specific cards in bulk for 200 each. Rx 470s. Prices are relatively close.

I suggest considering changing the pools payout system to a proportional payout system.

Firstly, people should just ignore his posts and I'll delete them. Secondly, to prove how stupid he is, a proportional payout system is bad for long term miners. They lose a lot of rewards to hoppers. Read up about payout systems. Lastly, PPS does indeed have a very high risk of the pool going broke, and at least some of those running PPS pools clearly have no idea of the maths involved, they just happen to have very large pockets. To resolve that, PPS pools MUST charge much higher fees. It's mandatory. PPLNS doesn't have that high risk or the need for high fees. Bitcoin by design, has block finding variance, you can't tell in advance when we will find a block, so a payout system that matches that variance makes perfect sense. There are a number of PPS pools that have gone bankrupt in the past due to the exact reason as described in the payout analysis done by Meni. Most miners here...(me at least) mine here because of the present system... PPLNS ... PPS isn't great........... people love to wine for PPS....wrongly!! |
