At this point, I'm beginning to think that for 5million ish $/EUR I too would

1. build up my rep (post count) for months on 20-30 accounts on all the major bitcoin forums and on reddit
2. initiate scam
3. calm the action by repeatedly assuring in eeriely similar posts all claiming to have:
       a. Met this elusive guy, simon
       b. claim he's nice, upright in morals, idealistic, etc,etc (thus feeding all our biases)
4. use the time bought from the community by my dummy accounts to give them the slip.

tl;dr :

When people keep saying "I've met this guy, he's nice, etc, etc" only trust those with established rep.

7  Bitcoin / Project Development / Help name site: bloomberg/financial times meets bitcoin on: April 13, 2013, 01:37:58 PM
Hi All,

I'm in the process of creating a one-stop, to-the-minute updated bitcoin news aggregator. I'm amazed that theres no professioinal looking news site that shows up on google when 'bitcoin news' is googled and I wanted to create something along the lines of what bloomberg or the financial times do for muggle money.  So the name must be "wall street-ish" or "leading newspaper-ish". This is something that I think is really important for BTC to add to its public legitimacy and if its going to attract more and more people, specially those not used to forums and reddit and digging deep for their news.

I've worked so far with the following name and would like to ask y'all for opinions on the name and any other advice.

The Daily Bit.co.in

Like it? Think its crap? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

They've been under a lot of ddos and regular downtime, take one look at their twitter.

Also,

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/currency/USD.html

look at the volume thats being traded on btc-24 compared to the other major exchanges. If the 100,000 new users is true then one can imagine the imbalance.

Here is my problem is bitcoin-24 cares:

My 100$ liqpay hasnt showed up or responded to after 3 days. (Usually takes 8hours)

Hey hk'er here.

I've tried liqpay.com (google, search this forum) with some success but only for less than 80USD.

it goes from mastercard -> liqpay -> bitcoin-24.com-> btc

Still looking for better ways to trade will keep posted.

Hong Konger here.

I think theres no HK-based exchange because of the same reason that the startup scene is so slow in HK = Top HK coders are enslaved by the banks as soon as they graduate as I've witnessed this firsthand with my friends spending their entire uni time deeply into the startup scene in hk and then all joining the banks when it came to getting a job.

Don't sell you house doing so, but bitcoins easily over trusting BFL.

Hello from Hong Kong!!! The future centre of Bitcoin in Asia!

Were just getting started here and I'm one of the 'pioneers' given I've got one FULL bitcoin.

If anyone here is from HK/China and wants to get in touch with the soon to be hong kong bitcoin community please find the really easy to find meetup.com group for bitcoin in HK as we're meeting up for the first time April 16th.

And its nice to finally register and be a part of this awesome community!

Dig all.
