1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.5 (Linux / Windows) on: November 19, 2017, 06:10:07 PM
I like this miner.

Cards: 4x EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3
Efficiency: ~4.6 Sols/W

If you run this at 2.8 sols/W you must have very cheap electricity costs.

How did you achieve 4.6 Sols/W Huh, i can't get anything above 3,85 even with heavy OC and very low TPL.

If i put mine at 50% power limit +150 core and +350 memory i hit over 4.7SOL/W

So it's time for nvidia.  1080 at 290watt of 760sols, 1070 at 130watt of 420sols. Interesting!

You cant get 720 SOL from a 1080, you must mean the 1080 Ti or Titan X Pascal.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080 Ti mining OC and power? on: April 25, 2017, 09:46:11 PM
This is an honest question. Why would you throw money away buying a bleeding edge graphics card when you can buy 3-4 other cards for the same price with a combined hash rate that will shit all over that card for overall value and hashrate?

edit: You can buy 5 RX470s for the same price as the one Ti.

I play games on my PC, so i like to have a high end GPU to power my 144HZ 1440P monitor.  I also dont like having 3-4 spaces taken up for multiple GPUs when i can have a powerful one take just one slot and use the same amount of power and probably less vs the 3-4 other cards. Another reason is once the ROI (~5-6 months for a single Ti to pay for itself) is done i make a lot more profit from there on out vs going cheap and multiple less powerful space hogging cards

Here are my numbers for my 1080 Ti with +100 core +450 memory

Lyra2REv2 70.88 MH/sec
Decred 5.043 GH/sec
LBRY 0.516 GH/sec
Equihash 709 SOL/sec
Pascal 1.873 GH/sec
X11GOST 22.1 MH/sec

I have an agressive fan curve set and my temps are mid 60's at the moment. One of my 1080 Tis is a hybrid and another is on a mining rig in the garage with very good ventillation.  My TDP is set to 100 on all cards

The Decred speed is quite low.

Really? What is considered high? This speed should be what the 1080 Ti is supposed to do when i compare the speed to my 1070s and 1080s

We were able to reach 490 on overclocked GTX 1080. We also noticed that temperature has some effect on all pascal cards - the higher it is, the lower it would clock and thus slower it would mine. But the hashing rate was always consistent, never more or less, as long as all clocks were fine. Also, if there is a driver crash due to too intensive clock, it may put your card into locked low clock and reboot is needed. That is all I can help you with. You may observe GPU load, TDP, memory load and see how these numbers compare to your first run of 500+.

Yeah, maybe i just have a freak card or something. I stopped/started the miner today and boom the 1080 is hashing 530+ SOL/sec. Image below

Just like the previous miner version, there seems to be something finicky about the SOL/sec rate on the GTX 1080. When I first updated the EQM miner i bench marked 535 SOL/s on my overclocked 1080. I mined at that speed all day, but when I restarted my PC the 1080 only mines at ~ 455-460. The weird part if that nothing changed as far as OC settings are concerned.

With the last miner version, sometimes the 1080 would mine at 505 SOL/sec , but then other times it was ~430. I really dont understand what could be happening to cause such a huge difference, but this tells me that there is a huge untapped potential left in the GTX 1080 that has yet to be fully utilized.

initial power testing (4 GTX 1070 rig)

SOL/WATTS/TDP
1801/825W @ MAX TDP
1774/690W @ 80%
1728/613W @ 70%
1713/590w @ 60%

80% seems like a sweet spot (~2% hash hit vs 16% less power) for the time being until profitability takes a nosedive

1080 no speedup.  Undecided

My 1080 reports 535 SOL/sec
Overclock and what settings?

Some update...

If your GTX 1070 with modified TDP and OC reached 420 with current version, then next version will give you 450 (same settings).

GTX 1060 6G limited to 90W TDP and overclocked memory is hashing at 290. Going to 300 or more with 1060 will be easily possible (with OC of course).

GTX 1080 overclocked to 2100 and memory to 5300 gives 490. But the real power of this card is when limiting TDP. 115W TDP limit with mem oc gives 460 sol/s.

whats weird for me is that the current miner gets about 505 SOL on my 1080 (2050/5555), but sometimes i gets ~450. Not sure what is making the difference happen.

I cant wait for this GDDR5X improvement! My 1080 is itching for more SOL/sec!

460 on GTX 1080 +750 mem core

great work dev!

would still love to see someone crack the GDDRX5 limitations, as there's more power to unlock for all the gamers in the world with GTX 1080 cards.

i get 505 SOL on my 1080

2060MHZ core, + 650 memory

Does anybody achieve 430 sol in 6x-rig per gtx 1070 (sum=2580)?

it's possible with very high memory oc, and core above 100, tdp and wattage also will be higher, but it also depend on the model of your gpu

i'm at 2500 with 1000 watt at the wall, much better to do 2220 at 700 watt for me

I have a 4 rig setup with 1070s that is pushing 1706 SOL/sec, so an increase of 2 more would easily get a few SOL shy of 2580. I know i can push the OC a bit more on each card

Nice, my 1080 is pushing 505 SOL. Finally the 1080 hashes faster than the 1070 and by a good margin too

what are your settings?

2063 MHZ, +500 ram
