1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: December 20, 2017, 12:33:14 PM
Hi, guys, what is the best nvidia miner (1070) for this algo ? Thanks

CCminer https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases

here you have stats for different gtx and different miners  https://www.altminer.net/bench?algo=neoscrypt&chip=1

Intresting, I got a 3% boost with the KlausT version over the regular ccminer. I hope its stable though, I'll leave it going to see what it does

Could you apply to get listed on Poloniex by any chance ? The volume there is is much higher than Cryptopia

check the rich list of Gobyte
http://explorer.gobyte.network:5001/richlist

the first have 785000.99851740 gobyte  so the 72.74% of the total.... why we have to buy this?
It's called premine. We use that for further development.

I don't blame him since he may not understand why or not know about pre-mines. Also, for us who just started with it, it's a slow go, its been 5 days of mining and I'm at half a coin : http://explorer.gobyte.network:5001/address/GMyR1jsbCa5Qgwckkotej6jDjLphd5Dyx7 and now with the price drop, it is naturally scary.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin the future? on: December 15, 2017, 02:30:08 AM
No. People have short term memory that little 'ol litecoin was introduced to counteract the SHA algo of BTC with scrypt. It was novel by making the computation more memory expensive and hoped that LTC would materialize the way Colin Percival designed scrypt. After that, it didn't offer anything better.

It's an OK coin, but I don't see the reasoning behind it's last 3 year rise other than speculation, so no,- it's not the future, but it can co-exist as an originator of some sort
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: December 14, 2017, 03:01:03 AM
I have some unused GoByte coins in my wallet from mining and MN rewards of my existing Masternode so I decided to start a Shared Masternode to get use for those coins.

Terms:

1. No setup fees. I will cover the initial costs.
2. Daily payouts to shareholders.
3. Transparent MN statistics. I will disclose MN address to each shareholder so everyone can monitor the earnings on http://explorer.gobyte.network:5001/
4. 5% service fee will be taken from MN earnings at the time of the payment to cover VPN cost, payments transaction fees and administrative duties.
5. To make it affordable, the MN will be split into 20 seats valued at 50 GBX each.

PM to me when you're ready to make profit on those coins that you have idle in your wallets.

With 50GBX participation how much coins/day it will rewarded?? I know that everyday different value, but any approx.??
Last 7 days my MN earned 165 coins. That's 23.57 per day, which is 1.18 coins per seat @ 50 coins. That is 860% ROI per annum and it is actually a little bit higher than what http://mnrank.com/ reports. Most importantly, GoByte keeps its value very nicely which will allow to expect high enough ROI over e period of time and if it goes to the moon I would like to be on that shuttle.
All 20 seats are paid for. Thanks for the interest everybody!
Ah damn, I was interested as well, but my btc to gbx xfer didn't go through in time and got held with 0 confirms. Hopefully there will be more group stake ins

I do not want to dig this coin, but I can suggest that you change 4233 to 10000
Would that change anything with altminer stability ?

thank youu devv for reward round 2

hehehe  Grin Grin

hope the price to the moon maybe 500k sat

We are working on a new core code. Wait for 2018.

Any word on OSX 10.9 issue where the wallet crashes on start-up ?

Linux wallet .zip file is messed up. Can't decompress it nor on Linux or OSX. Errors are shown Sad

I have a public p2pool node and I'm on the mailing list. I haven't received any instructions yet and I haven't seen updates to the donSchoe github repo for monocle. It would be nice to give p2pool operators or private node operators a head start to at least get the pool nodes ready and prepare the eventual switch over. I'm not even sure how to run the p2pool daemon with monocle support enabled and about any other considerations.

Can you post those instructions at least ?

Yeah, I haven't seem my balance stuck majority of the day before.

It seems like ghash is getting them all.
I hope it picks up soon.

Is the bitcoin pool having isssues. Since 2014-02-23 04:22:41 AM block shift, I have noticed a sudden drop in number of blocks, pay per share has has been cut by 10 and last few shifts are plain zeros.

I something up or am I missing something ?

Everyone of you fucking idiots are going on my ignore list.  LOL at all the people with under 100 posts "investing" in feathercoin and calling each other scammers.  Ignore you go.

Feathercoin = scam and that's why the majority of you have under 100 posts is because you don't know shit.

LOL, get off my lawn all up in this thread

Hey,

I'm testing out this pools with cgminer via mining proxy and I'm seeing an unusually large number of rejected shares:
total:281,    accepted:254, rejected: 9.61%

is this a typical thing for ltcmine.ru ?

my reject rate is 1.41%

... OK

can you describe how you're running your miners ? Thanks

Well, to help others in case they see the same high rejected percentage.
If I use a standalone proxy I usually run on linux, or the one from ltcmine.ru
I get high reject %. If I just connect to the stratum directly, I get very low
reject %,- less than 1%

No idea why, but it's worth noting

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help please! (mining) !!Now with bounty!! on: April 20, 2013, 09:46:45 PM
Easy:

Start guiminer
Got to file-> new cgminer
host: coinotron.com
port: 3334
username: yourusername.workername
password: workerpassword
device: pick the gpu
threads: 21712
worksize: 256
vectors: 1
intensity: 20
gpu threads: 1
use stratum: yes

using gpu tweak or msi afterburner:
core clock: 1100
mem clock: 1375
power target: anywhere from +10 to +20
play with mV voltage to bring it down if you want to draw less power

you should be getting about 560 kHs plus

and make sure you are using gui miner scrypt

Stability at last.

I've seen and added to the pile of griefing about this pool. Now on a more positive note, I hope that this post
adds to a better experience for some of you. I like the fee setup and mined along for the very first block on this pool.
'd like to see it stay this way.

Here's my story on how I zero'd-in on the most stable setup yet that handles this pool's issues and growing pains rather well.
Having said that, the following setup could be used anywhere else to minimize stales and
rejected shares as well. I have a few miners pointing at it with some
on windows and some on linux boxes.

I avoid the US server altogether. cgminer connected to it directly will behave badly.
I've experienced 'mysql has gone away errors', rejected and stale shares in various quantities etc.

I don't point the proxy at it as well.
All workers connect via the proxy to the eu.wemineltc.com server. This might change
when the US server stops causing me to lose LTC

Proxy:
The most important part to keep the workers running and reconnected properly is to use
an intermediary proxy. Note, I do not use the proxy provided on wemineltc.com website.
I'm running this proxy on a linux box. This proxy connects to the eu.weminltc.com server.
Information on running and deploying the proxy:

  On Windows:
    download: https://mining.bitcoin.cz/media/download/mining_proxy.exe
    run: mining_proxy.exe -pa scrypt -o eu.wemineltc.com -p 3333

  On Linux:
    download: https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy/tarball/master
    unpack: tar xf slush0-stratum-mining_proxy*.tar.gz
to make sure, install Python required libraries:
      sudo apt-get install python-dev
    inside the unpacked directory:
      sudo python setup.py install
    run: python ./mining_proxy.py -pa scrypt -o eu.wemineltc.com -p 3333

additionally on linux, install 'screen' so that you can run the proxy in the background
disconnect and reconnect to your terminal session.

    to install screen:
      sudo apt-get install screen
    start a screen session:
      screen
press enter when a notice message is shown
then run the proxy as above
to disconnect from the screen session, press ctrl+a then d

there's a lot of resources and manpages related to screen usage such as reconnecting, listing etc.

Steps below presume that the proxy is running.

Minerd/cpuminer:
There's already a great post on litecoinpool.org website on how to run it on linux/windows and osx: https://www.litecoinpool.org/help

For example, if the proxy is running on IP 5.5.5.5, i would connect to it as such:
    ./minerd --algo scrypt -s6 --threads 4 --url http://5.5.5.5:8332 --userpass username.workername:workerpassword
--threads parameter is equal to number of CPU cores

Cgminer:
  Using cgminer scrypt:

  Windows:
    download: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/cgminer-2.11.4-windows.zip
    run example:
      cgminer.exe -o http://5.5.5.5:8332 -u username.workername -p workerpassword -I 13 --scrypt

look for cgminer optimal settings elsewhere, but it is quite possible for my 7950 cards to
      generate 550 - 600 kHs and 0.005 rejected rate.

  Linux:

There's already a great step-by-step article here on Github and it's too long for this tutorial:
      https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer

Parting words,

If push comes to shove and the pool goes down repeatedly, I will simply point the proxy somewhere else.
Until that point, I'll stick around as long as LTC/kWh is highest here.

cheers,

- offbyone

OK, I see.

Shitty time to have launched another rig on this pool. I thought something was off with my gear
