Cpu multiplier is 32 on the faster capture, is there some other sort of throttling going on?
2  Other / Beginners & Help / tracking bitcoiners on: April 17, 2013, 05:45:35 AM
I have recently tried to buy bitcoins and was irked with the amount of validation needed to aquire said coins (from USA).  Is it paranoid to think there is a database to translate bitcoin addresses to people?

Please correct me if I am wrong here - The blockchain ledger contains all transactions.  By linking a person to a bitcoin address you can see all of that persons transactions.  One such way to link this is to gather personal information before allowing said person to purchase bitcoins.

The only anonymous transactions possible now is by mining coins, and mining to a different bitcoin address at regular intervals.

Do you think this design was intentional?  I would rather see corporate and goverment ledgers, instead of an individual's ledger.

I dont think its possible to undervolt the Gigabyte cards?  They are overvolted stock at 1.25v I believe.

Would down-clocking the memory speed lower the hashrates on the cards?

For bitcoin mining you don't need the GPU memory speed.  Higher GPU Core Clock drives my hash rate higher.

If you are using scrypt for something like litecoin that is another story.

... oops!  you are going for LTC my bad!

The failover option of cgminer is nice, add a few pools with your preferred payout scheme in case of downtime.

I have been using give-me-ltc and notroll.in as preferred pools.

Im running 1015 core and 1350 mem.  I run on Windows 7 x64.  I just got these new cards and am disappointed.

Have you thought about lowering the memory clock down?  Should save you a few watts.  Took me longer than I would rather admint to figure out how to get my new 7970 to run at CPU 1150 / Memory 375.

What have I gotten myself into this time?  Starting off with a GPU on bitcoin and hoping when the time comes to get into other crypto currencies.  ˇViva la Revolución!
