I just saw 95.2 million.

Did you ever get it to work with 5?

If the website is down, does that mean mining is not working either?
4  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: May 04, 2013, 11:35:29 PM
Difficulty is going up as more ASIC machines are mining.

Bitcoin automatically adjusts the difficulty with the aim that blocks should be created one per 10 minutes on average. So as more hashrate is added, and blocks are created "too fast" the difficulty gets adjusted upwards.

Thanks.

it looks gpu miners will say goodbye very soon.

Are ASICs relased? On bt total Thps jumped from ~5 to 9Thps

It used to be "testtest" had the number one spot, but I think the jump is from one person.  The number one spot is 2,000,000 more than 2nd place.  Check it out here.  First place's name is "realasicminer".

5  Bitcoin / Mining support / GUI Miner & BTC Guild works for short time on: May 04, 2013, 10:40:00 PM
I have three 7950's that will run 24/7 on Bitminter using GUIMiner.

When I setup GUIMiner to connect to BTCGuild, the three cards will work for 10 - 30 mins and then the hash rate drops to like 1.5Mhash/s - 600 khask/s.  It will continue to mine that slow.  Any ideas the reason for the crash?  I'm not using any extra flags on bitminter or when I try BTCGuild.  I have tried some flags when connecting to BTCGuild because it kept crashing, but didn't stop it from crashing.

I am also on 12.8 AMD drivers.  It crashed using the latest and 13.1.

I want to be able to mine on BTC Guild.  Suggestions?

What do you think "RealAsicMiner" is running?  The whole Bitminter hash rate jumped almost 3 Thps.

Anyone tried this before?  Should be safer than the paperclip, right?

Think the 1000 watt version of this would work not being plugged into a motherboard?  Doing the paperclip trick.

That's like the paperclip trick I was talking about.  But someone pointed out minimum requirements on different rails.

If anyone can suggest a 1000 watt power supply that doesn't have a minimum, I would appreciate it Smiley

I be looking for one in the mean time.

Be careful here.  Other than the obvious, checking you're shorting the correct pins you need to look at the minimum load specifications for the power supply.  A lot of PSUs specify a minimum load on the other supplies e.g. 5V.  You need to check this out before going any further.  You may find you need to add a few power resistors to generate the minimum loads to ensure proper regulation.

If I plug the 24 pin into an old motherboard that won't be used, but turn on the power supply by turning on the motherboard should that work?

Thanks for the replies.

I don't know if it matters but they are the XFX double D 7950's.

I sure wish I could post elsewhere Sad  I have 3 hours and 4 mins.  I think I have read the entire forum.  I read fast.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Three 7950's dedicated power supply wattage? on: April 27, 2013, 02:05:04 PM
I read there is a paperclip trick to get a power supply to turn on without a motherboard.  I want to connect a power supply to an additional three 7950's connected to two different motherboards which already have power and video cards.  Ran out of connectors from the current two power supplies.  So, if I get a single power supply which will only be connected to three 7950's, how many watts should that power supply be?

I was thinking about a 750 watt? or maybe 800?

Has it already been said that this is reasonable for newbies?

I probably had 20 hours of time spent before I even created an account.  That sucks.  I have 1 hour and 1 min as of this posting.

Why is my house so hot now  Shocked
