When DopeCoin was originally created it was my intention to create a better option for the already thriving underground marketplace that used digital currencies in the hundreds of millions for the purchase of drugs online. My intention was not to enter into a new marketplace (legalized MMJ) and to try and not only educate the general population, but to also get them to begin using crypto currencies as part of they're daily life.

I appreciate your passion for crypto currencies but you should really consider how you publicly represent yourself.
I'm not looking to pick a fight, and I do appreciate constructive criticism, but jumping in this thread and talking smack on a regular basis will never get you the results you are looking for.

Don't understand why people sell now.... we are about to have a coin reduction of more than 50% + switch to POS + ANON just to name a few things.
But well, I don't understand crypto logics very much...

You asked for it, and we have listened.... as many of you may have already guessed we have decided to change DopeCoin into a POS coin with a much lower max coin total @ 200 Million coins (down from 540 Million), 120 million have already been made via POW to this point.  There are still a few hurdles to jump through before we put this into action, we will list the pro's and con's below and are asking you to give us your comments before we start work on the new code.


Upgrade the current wallet:

Pro's:

• wouldn't need to exchange current coins.

Con's

• Android wallet users will not be able to recover coins after pos switch over until we get a new android wallet with POS abilities.
  
• May cause forking and sycing problems when the swap over occurs (minor issue)

Make Dope V2 and exchange dope v1 coins to dope v2:

Pro's

• smaller block chain again
• cleaner wallet code

Con's

• having to exchange coins, either manually or via a market (if they offer this service)

We will also be adding the "Dark" features many users wanted, so Anon transactions, anon messaging etc and we have a p2p fiat exchange on the way and a market place.

Approx Timeline:

2-4 weeks POS wallet with advanced features
5-6 weeks fiat p2p exchange
6-8 weeks market place (not decentralised)

It is not dead, it is moving to a price that is more realistic. Remember DOPE was trading at 7 sats.

Edit : A price around 100 sats seems to be correct based on the number of coins.

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to give you all a quick status update since I've been so quiet on this thread.

First of all, please apologize for the constant delays. My situation has been really totally hilarious for the past few weeks: it's been a constant flow of both good and not so good news coming in from all directions simultaneously. I have been forced to juggle priorities between a handful of equally important issues.

I have about 12 hours to empty and clean my apartment, while the launch of BDSM & FETISH is taking place today as well (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=801366).

When this hassle if over, I will finally be able to concentrate on getting everything organized properly.

Among other things, there will be a dedicated DOPE forum and a wiki where stuff such as ideas and proposals can be gathered in a coherent manner.
