5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Excuse me miners , couldn't ask a few questions please. on: May 05, 2013, 09:49:03 PM
why not amd fusion processor? extra hashes from the iGPU Smiley cpu speed not very important imo. I got 112mh/s on the 5800k's GPU when mildly overclocked but no need to get black edition, A10-5700 is a bit cheaper & has the same GPU

as for the PSU, get a 600/650w 80+ gold one? aim for 50% load on your PSU for max efficiency

I think if you stay within the same series (7xxx) you shouldn't have any problems.  I could be wrong, but I think you mix and match different series you might potentially run into driver issues.

Yep, I never got legacy drivers to work alongside the current ones :/

There wasn't a difference in hashing speed on either windows or linux for me, but using cgminer should help quite a bit. I think the diablo or phatk kernel is best (it is for me anyway). I like your case Smiley

I tried mining with am i5 3570k and got a pitiful 22khash/s.. wouldn't reccomend it personally.. GPU is the way to go here.

If you have the inital capital, why not go for a FPGA instead? better investment if you're able to get one right away & can afford it. Electricity will not be an issue with it either.. Plus, some have red LEDS! Smiley

Depends what the difficulty will be by the time you get it... personally I wouldn't get one at this stage. Jalapenos are being delivered before the singles though at the moment
