You'll find the ports the rpc server uses in LUNA.conf.
rpcport=38356

I too encountered this,
it may have been because I'm inexperienced with setting up mining with my wallet.
I decided to try cryptomine's pool and the problem subsided.

I'm also having trouble logging into http://lunawallet.org/. There's also no option to reset your pass >_<
