1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 "Killer" Criticisms of Bitcoin That Are Really Just Flesh Wounds on: April 09, 2013, 12:12:09 PM
Wow that is really well done analysis!
2  Economy / Economics / Re: We need BTC at 4$ again... on: April 08, 2013, 10:34:20 PM
Very short term thinking to wish Bitcoin to $4 again.  You are better off buying now and waiting for the far more reasonable assent to $1,000.  Although a little slower would put more people at ease I'm sure Smiley
3  Economy / Services / Re: John (John K.)'s escrow service (previously known as johnthedong) on: April 08, 2013, 09:49:11 PM
Wow some extraordinary numbers in this thread!  I will definitely keep John in mind Smiley
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The current nature of bitcoin is becomming a problem on: April 08, 2013, 03:15:44 PM
franky1 just beat me to it. For nearly forty years I've somehow managed to function in a dollar economy despite the fact I'm handling pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters every single day. This satoshi naming issue is overblown. If people want to use it, they'll make an effort to figure it out. Of all the things in the Bitcoin universe, the decimal notation and naming is the least difficult to explain to a n00b.

If my wife can figure out the g/s/c conversion rate in World of Warcraft, she can figure out BTC when the time comes.

Cents are easy for people.  True.  Or at least recognizable.

Will be a barrier to entry for the non-nerds out there.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To those that say bitcoin is a pyramid scheme on: April 07, 2013, 10:51:29 PM
The number of wildly loose definitions of "pyramid scheme" make practically everything one.

Bitcoin may be a "bubble" but it lacks several defining features of a "pyramid scheme" such as:

- No centralized party
- No guarantees offered whatsoever
- There is a definitive maximum number of available "coins".

Thanks for the service Batmann!
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hyper Inflation, Round 2? on: April 07, 2013, 10:30:25 PM
I don't know when it will come but the likely jump to at least $250 is coming soon(ish).
8  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 6.9 BTC For PayPal GBP on: April 07, 2013, 10:23:11 PM
I'd be interested.
9  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: April 07, 2013, 10:17:57 PM
I think right now is definitely NOT the time to sell unless you have a reason for the funds.

Bitcoin may (will?) experience SEVERE ups and downs but right now it's gaining a lot of mainstream exposure and that means a lot of money coming in.

And given that it seems like (isn't in my opinion) a "Get Rich Quick" scheme the odds of people bringing money goes up even more.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: April 07, 2013, 10:13:19 PM
Hi another newbie here, very new to forum, not quite as new to Bitcoin.

I have known about Bitcoin for a couple years and scoffed at it until recently based on finally understanding the true privacy capabilities of it.
