Weis jemand was dies sein könnte?

In my opinion we should have the option to run at a lower hashrate maybe 10 or 15 ph that way our run would last longer and after all only 1 machine gets the best share and finds the block.

I agree with that, I'd also be down for a 15 PH/s or maybe even as low as 10 PH/s run that takes maybe up to a week. Pissibly in run 54?
Maybe pricing for this low amount of Hashing-power is also slightly better?

Let's see what willi's take on this idea is first.

Hi fren ! i hope you're doing well !  Grin

Thank you for your trust and support ! much appreciated as always !

Come back to you by pm this evening !

Count updated :

20 SOLD / 1 AVAILABLE

Hi, saw my name pop up in the unpaid list - I was waiting for your pm, haven't received one yet.

Or should I just use current CMC rate + shipping cost and send you the details of the transaction etc? Just let me know how you want to proceed, thanks.

Hi Fren ! i hope you're doing well !

No worry, indeed, once the person has announced on the thread(or for the more discreet by PM) that they want a collectible, they must make the payment to the BTC address displayed, and once this is done, I need the information below as indicated on the main post

After payment please send me the following information :
TxID :
Amount of BTC : Coins / Shipping
Shipping details : use privnote if possible

[If you can include email to details it's better for customs.]

And exactly you use the current CMC rate + shipping and then I check with the txid anyway.

You're welcome, thanks to you for your trust and support ! if you have any other question don't hesitate to  ask me  Smiley
Okay thanks for the clarification. You wrote

Thus I didn't check this thread until today.
But now I see this was probably addressed to Abiky directly, not to all of us. My bad.
Will provide all details within the next 24 h.
8  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Joinmarket - Coinjoin that people will actually use on: December 14, 2023, 02:16:56 PM
I thought I'd go ahead and give this a friendly bump.
The project seems still alive, just not here on the forum.

With my basic technical understanding this seems very promising, but I wonder if there is any chance this can ever become truely mainstream, similar to Electrum wallet for example. Just download a full functioning software with one click and either participate for "join-coining" your own BTC or provide a joincoin-node to make some tiny income for the coin-joins of others.
Anyone knows if there are any plans to in that direction?

Thanks for the warning and updates @nelson4lov

Soon I can start an info thread with a list of all the Ledger f-ups that happened over the years. It's getting longer and longer.

I'm not up-to-date with all these web3 dApp stuff - what actually is affected here? Are we talking about swap-dApps and Defi-stuff or anything else?
Also, does this only affect tokens on the Ethereum chain or also others?

Merci Dir @willi9974

I was thinking about another one that stole customer funds, can't remember which one that was right now, about 10 months or so ago. But quite likely it was closed-source, not like unstoppable wallet, which is open-source.
I am sure you are talking about Atomic wallet, am i right? Yeah, Atomic wallet was compromised many months ago and so many of their customers lost their funds, they are also a closed source wallet and so is not recommended because we cannot verify how customer's keys is generated. The wallets of so many of their customers was compromised around June this year, but Atomic wallet is yet to provide a reason or explanation as to what happened, people should stay away from Atomic wallet and other closed source wallets.
Ahhh, yes indeed, that was Atomic! Unstoppable, Trust, Atomic! So many buzzwords but I tend to mix them up.
As you correctly stated, a closed source wallet is generally speaking to be avoided. Nobody can verify (look inside) what is actually happening, so it's just a massive possible attack vector for potentially stealing user funds.

Personally I think the easiest and most secure option is to publish it here and/or via pastebin.

If somebody wants to build a tracker (website, app etc) on top of that data, that's great but not necessary.
Problem with any website is, that it can go down again or can be manipulated. Problem with pdf are certain security concerns, afaik pdf is a format that can enable malicious fishing or even hacking attempts - so some malicious actor could create a pdf with the same name and try to spread it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: December 12, 2023, 07:03:12 AM
It also doesn't really solve any problem if they ban mixers. There are so many services that essentially allow users to break traceability by going back and forth between different cryptocurrencies, or of course use Monero. And for as long as there is a need and a marktet for mixing services, there will be mixing services. They can maybe shut down one of those services every few weeks or so, but that doesn't stop anyone from setting up the next one. I was wondering if authorities should run their own mixing services as that would be an effective way to gather as much data about people as possible.

Mixers cannot be banned. Especially non-custodial/decentralized ones. Those who care about privacy will move on with their lives by using another mixer that's truly censorship-resistant. We knew from day one that centralized mixers were going to be scrutinized by mainstream governments. After all, they don't want people to enjoy true financial privacy. The more people obfuscate their transactions, the less power/control the government will have.

With DEXs, atomic swaps, and privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies (eg: Monero), we'll never have to worry about government surveillance ever again. Let's hope BTC devs integrate a privacy mechanism into the protocol (Zero Knowledge Proofs?) for complete peace of mind. If they do this, expect constant opposition from governments in the long run. Satoshi never intended to please the government in the first place, so why should the community do otherwise? Just my opinion Smiley
I couldn't agree more with this statement (marked in bold). If privacy is the default, then there is no way to flag/cencor certain coins and we have a fully fungible system, even better than cash in many ways.

putting privacy enhancing tools into main wallet apps and even the main core node software will cause more legal issues, because coin join/mixers  requires a central manager and would effectively turn bitcoin from an open source software and turn it into a service. which then allows authorities to grab further jurisdictional footing into the bitcoin ecosphere

so no thanks. [...]

Is that so? I thought there are already decentralized versions of mixing protocols available - or is this indeed something technically impossible: A decentralized mixing solution? Source for your statement please.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Meta Crisis, finite resources vs exponential growth in (fiat) economy ++ on: December 12, 2023, 05:45:06 AM
I recently stumbled upon Daniel Schmachtenberger, a macro-economist, macro-ecologist, philosopher and much more.
He's given plenty of interviews and talks that can be found on youtube and other platforms.

Most interesting to me is his way of connecting the dots in an ever increasingly complex world (thus the "macro" in most of his titles). One of his main claims is that by trying to solve a problem (locally) new ones emerge because the focus was too narrow, which in return often creates more (level 2, 3 etc) problems that in the long run make the solution to the initial problem void (or let's call it -EV).

In any case, the reason I mention this here in the Bitcoin forum, is his view on fiat money, the ongoing printing of money and the underlying exponential growth rate that will inevitably result in catastrophy. Daniel claims this is not sustainable in the long run and we are approaching planetary boundaries: The planet's resources are finate and linear and thus are starting to be unable to fulfill the exponential rate of growth. One of the main drivers of this system we are all entangled in is the current currency system we use, which enables this insane increase in monetary supply: the central bank controlled fiat money.

I'd highly recommend to check out some of his talks, you can give it a start with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kBoLVvoqVY&t=260s

If you have any insights on Daniel Schmachtenbergers theories and thoughts or his stance in regards to the fiat system as one of the main drivers for some of societies biggest challanges right now, feel free to discuss and comment. Input in regards of similar thinkers like Daniel is also most welcome.
I resere the right to remove any random OT posts or ramblings, so don't bother with spam please.

Now, this is a cool looking project and moon themes are generally a good thing when done well. Excited to see these IRL.
19  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Physical Viacoin coins by NattyMind on: December 12, 2023, 04:06:12 AM
These are very nice coins, I think one or two good photos might help with the interest.
Wish these were Bitcoin-loaded and themed, they would be SO MUCH more popular. VIA is just so niche and tbh, even though I got the coins because they are nice silver with a wonderful design and hologram, I have no idea what's going on with that cryptocurrency.

Just checked, seems they had a 10x price increase over the last 7 days: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/viacoin/
What the heck was going on there?

btw, if you can't post pics, just throw in the link and I'll repost them for you. Or buy a copper membership.

And while we are at it, is there a better alternative to trust wallet? What I mean is an app for android that is ideally open-source and can handle tokens and shitcoins and all that jazz.
I remember there was unstoppable wallet which turned out to be scammy, too.
Unstoppable wallet is a better alternative to trust wallet, because it is open source and you can also extend your seed phrase with a passphrase when you use unstoppable wallet. I don't know where you got that information from, but the wallet isn't a scam, except if someone downloads a fake or phishing version of the wallet. The only downside with Unstoppable wallet is that it does not support as many coins as trust wallet.

True, I just checked wallet scrutiny and it is listed as a very solid and secure one there.
I was thinking about another one that stole customer funds, can't remember which one that was right now, about 10 months or so ago. But quite likely it was closed-source, not like unstoppable wallet, which is open-source.
