Optiplex has a top cover that slides off. Take it off, leave it off and mount a card and go to town. You can pickup up some server PSU's that will run 3 cards on 3 PC's. Make sure you only use the server PSU's for the 12V rails.
Can you send me a link of example PSU? Have you tried mining like this?  Thanks for the reply, most useful one yet.

Sure just search eBay. There are used server PSU's all over the place 1100 to 1400 watts for less than $50

here is an example http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cisco-UCSC-PSU2-1200-1200-Watt-AC-Pluggable-Power-Supply-Grade-B-Free-Shipping-/182534089563?hash=item2a7fe12b5b:g:fgYAAOSwJ7RYUxud

Found only one 800W on local listing site (Customs are a b*tch in Serbia). Would that work? at least for 2-3 7950's or 280x's? And how do I power them, I see no 8pin cables lol.
Thanks WarrEagle, means a lot.

Optiplexes don't have side panels, my question was:
1 PC - 1 GPU x 10
But with power supply being separete for the GPU's.
so i dont have to buy bigger PSU's per PC and just add one big one to power all 10 cards.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Guerilla mining farm help on: May 12, 2017, 09:17:51 AM
Hi all,
I need your help and opinion about a wild idea to create a mining farm from 10+ Dell Optiplex  PC's.
I have them in stock and I was wondering if I can just stick an GPU in them and connect a PSU for them independently ( used 7950's preferably, due to low price.)
Electricity is not a factor, so GPU's and PSU (if possible) is the only investment.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: help with virtual memory and stuff on: March 15, 2017, 10:22:06 AM
What windows you have? I assume it's 7 or 10. I made a google search: windows page file on separate disk
One of the results shows the images what to set for Win7: https://superuser.com/questions/237813/how-can-i-move-the-page-file-to-another-physical-disk-location
There's a similar result for Win10 too if that's your OS: http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-move-page-file-in-windows-10-to-another-disk/

I hope that this is what you needed. Good luck.

I found those too, but just wanted to post in this forum, maybe someone has experience with it, if miner gets confused or something it being on a different disk.
Will try surely. Thanks for the help

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / help with virtual memory and stuff on: March 13, 2017, 11:37:04 PM
Hi, sorry for bothering you good people, I have a problem.. Recently made the switch from ethOS to Windows, due to low hashrates on ethOS. Problem is I have a 32gb SSD and windows doesn't let me (ofc) allocate 16gb virtual memory as there's not enough space.. Can i just put another HDD and then allocate it there ? (Will the miner work, DAG and stuff I don't have knowledge of) or must I cash out a bigger SSD
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 20 yo student wanting to invest (need advice) on: March 07, 2017, 11:42:17 AM
So, I wanted to post here because I need help from senior people. I want to invest into a mining rig. Electricity is not a factor. I thought about getting a loan for 1000 euros, which should be enough to get me a 5xRX470 rig. I just need some advice from you people here because where I live, a 1000e is pretty much a nig deal for a 20yo student. Any advice would be greatly welcome.
Free electricity if legal then go for it , if you have illegal free electricity then don't , here is my point if you think your 6xgpu rig will not draw that amount of wattage then you are wrong mining eats alot of electricity and it will be visiable special for the power hungry gpus .

So as i said legal free electricity then GO
Illegal free electricity don't go for it.

I already deployed two 5xRX470 rigs on H81 PRO BTC R2.
I know power consumption and as I've said it's not a factor. Just looking for other peoples' opinion on what hardware to get, as it is a big risk to get a loan just for 1000e for someone my age.

You may try 4x7990 on one rig. That will be faster than the 5x470.
Those are rare used in my region, and seem expensive...

Any recommendation of news and notification systems to set-up? I don't wanna wake up in the morning sorry I fell asleep.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 20 yo student wanting to invest (need advice) on: March 07, 2017, 09:28:44 AM
Would recommend reference cards, the shit sleeve bearing fans on AIB cards weren't made to last and Tahiti cards are old by now.
If you want to get 470s, MSI Gaming, Sapphire Platinum (reference) and Visiontek (reference) are good for mining, they have high quality fans that won't fail.
Try to avoid hynix ram, it overclocks the worst.

Current RX 470 rigs are al Hynix, and I've seen how hard it is to OC. I just wanted to ask others what would they do if they were in a position like me.
Start small by getting used pc components and adding some 280x's or go for a bank loan and get a decent mining rig.
