1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SIXTEEN AND A HALF DAYS for this last difficulty reset?!?!? Way late!!! on: March 31, 2020, 08:50:46 AM
More an excuse to pop this topic up than anything else, but...

If it took 16-1/2 days for this past difficulty reset, that means a lot of miners are turned off, a good 40% or more by my calculations.  Maybe just because the price is down right now, but that's a foolish way to go about mining.

What is your problem with 16 and half day to adjust the difficulty? this is not the first time it take so much time. And now the difficulty is adjusted and the miner takes not so long to mine a new block.

I canīt understand the topic of this thread. We discuss about "is mining senseless" or about what?

I really wouldn't care at all about this user . He should understand mining since he has been doing it for years (his words ) and for years he doesn't understand that usual difficult adjustment is based on 14 days window .. and not 10 like he claims .
After this statement everything else he says can be ignored .

@realbminer
Today installed fresh Ubuntu 16.05 . Also the Nvidia 390 drivers and cuda toolkit .
The system itself running fine (tested few miners) .
However when i start your and i get immediately : Illegal instruction (core dumped) (No matter what algo) .
What are the MUST needed packages for your miner to work ?

Hello ,
You should go to https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/issues and post that there . So they to can give you some pointers or fix it if its bug/memory leak or something .

Since your moving it to VPS (i`m guessing under linux) just install on the same machine and pool (Mpos , Unode and so on .. just pick one there is a lot of guides how to do it) and connect it to the moved node . This way you can use GPu`s , or old usb sticks or asics and such to speed it up .

VEGA FE 93 MH/s
VEGA 56 86-89 MH/s

anyone know how to control the fan manually? my vega FE runs at 40%, I'd like it to run at 50%. tia

You can try this command (keep in mind its global for all cards , this sh file will not control only one of them) .

wget http://drakyla.org/atifans.sh && chmod 755 atifans.sh

After this do ./atifans.sh -s 50                    (where 50 is the % of the fans you want to be used .. can  be 60/70/100 or 0 .. up to you) .

Works fine on all 470/480/570/580 .. should work on vegas too .

Kinda . I was guessing you have GPU in hand . I`ll test it myself later on today and will write if there is any issues with the shares .

Fancy , Nicehash added Lyra2Rev3 however since i know them too well .. there is probably some issue with the miners (dont have GPu right now to test it) . If you have 1 can you check it out ? (They added Grin and Beam too ... but with different requirements and such). usually on their github there is explanation (for beam and grin exist one with instructions) however for Lyra2rev3 there is nothing yet .
