This. More hashing speed = greater security for the network. A block will still be released every 10~ minutes or so.
By all means yes, this is true. BUT! ASIC miners are MUCH faster that GPU miners, and will force GPU miners out of the game. Will GPU miners still hang around. Some of them might move to ASIC, some might not. Please do mind that Bitcoins are worthless without the community to support them. Well, this is my personal opinion, for what it is worth.

they will move to litecoin

I would love a few coins (just enough to register a domain would be fine)

I have been looking for 2 days for a coin to get me started...

Seems the difficulty is very high yet nobody uses it Sad

the network adjusts how hard the difficulty is, so that it works out to about 1 block every 10 minutes. So nothing changes with ASICs entering the picture except they take a greater %

but the amount stays the same.... 10(an hour) * 24(hrs in a day) * 25(coins) minted per day

well, someone traded for a pizza, and I'm sure they were thinking in the back of their heads "that pizza is worth $15"

can't help but thing of fiat money

it will take years before people think "that's worth XXX bitcoins"

MtGox is truly acting as a barrier for the rise of bitcoins at the moment.

maybe that's a good thing!!

too fast, more likely to crash like in 2011

9% + 1 u$d on fees is too damn high!

Thank you, i will consider that. xD

I wish someone who traded on bitspend can actually tell me about them.

wait 1 day and your coins will be valued more then enough to cover that 9% fee Smiley
