based on this site http://safecurves.cr.yp.to/ secp256r1 (P-256) is not safe, but neither is secp256k1. Of course, it's debatable how trustable this claim is.

Curve25519 is said to be safe and there's also some other new ones assumed to be safe.

Ah, so then seems this was very buggy implementation. All other addresses participated so owner most likely played himself and earned that way. Only shame that it didn't followed order and skipped transactions which again might have been a bug.

I've known Namecoin for long time, but never really much followed it, so I'm wondering:

• who currently are official Namecoin developers?
• which are official domains/sites managed by project?
• which repositories are official?

I think it used to be http://dot-bit.org/ but now seems it's http://namecoin.info/ ? Also are http://github.com/namecoin/ official repositories?

It would be nice if it all would be written in single place as it's quite easy for someone to impersonate and distribute infected binaries/code.

lol dude, read my post with spreadsheet where you can see that this was scam as there's loads of skipped transactions (payout was random). It's OVER. All done. What's lost is lost.

I hacked up quick script, got all transactions for this ponzi (addresses 1ponziUjuCVdB167ZmTWH48AURW1vE64q, 14ji9KmegNHhTchf4ftkt3J1ywmijGjd6M) and created spreadsheet with data about all participants.

In total there were 1023 participants from who 547 won some BTC, 6 got back what they sent and 510 lost what they sent.
Biggest amount sent from single entity (1CR27qMW8ok7xitLUuM2gCau3PJpACRdPM) was 16.4 BTC and got back only 12.48 BTC
Biggest absolute profit was 2.24 BTC (38% more than sent) for 1LE9MmczTAuStbHUvB4YwnVnGb3makL8aB
And biggest relative profit was for 1DLidBuq9ac7xeYtBW7vLF1kE3o6p7SGTZ who sent 0.003 BTC and got net profit 0.5698 BTC (that's 18993%)
Biggest loss was for 18eNdoK2BThisidjkGSQX6hrHH1JSrwcKk who lost 6.88 BTC

Overall seems this was scam from first day as it didn't payed out in order and skipped some transactions no matter what amount was big or small. Also even for those who received, some got more than they should and others less. That's not how Ponzi works.

Ponzi.io owner 1HT7xU2Ngenf7D4yocz2SAcnNLW7rK8d4E sent himself only 0.0237 BTC, so he probably played it himself under some other addresses.

It's such a shame that it was scam, rather than being actual Ponzi scheme, it really could grow quite big with such good name, but I guess it was more important for owner to get some quick coins. I doubt that all next ponzi's will be any successful because of this scam. Proper Ponzi (where owner is honest) should only end when there's no more new people and pay in order.

Then at 2014-02-05 21:03:14 he got received 0.0718 BTC (fee 0.0002) all is good (0.06 * 1.20 = 0,072)
but why at 2014-02-06 22:00:02 and 2014-02-06 22:19:58 he received 0.02306 BTC and 0.0719 BTC

I've always really disliked all forums (and other sites) where you're forced to make some first useless posts. That is I can't post where I wanted even if my account is more than a half year old. I just never had any need to post anything. When I'll be allowed to post I'll probably have forgotten what I wanted to say and thus I won't bother with that. I think better approach is just captcha solving required for posting if you're new member or something.
