1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum not syncing on: April 29, 2018, 01:45:05 PM
Great, thank you very much. That's what I thought but just needed to hear it straight. Appreciate your time.
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum not syncing on: April 29, 2018, 01:23:10 PM
Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked to many times but my electrum seems to be out of date and not syncing, it has been a while since I used it.
I sent BTC from my gdax but is not showing in my wallet. I looked up transaction and it says has happened.
I have electrum 2.7.18 installed on my rasp pi but I also have a trezor. Am nervous that if I uninstall the current electrum and update will the BTC still finds it s way there as long as I have the address it was sent to? Or is there something else I need to do? Or can I use that address and send it to my trezor instead?
Soz, I just find the whole seed thing still confusing etc.
Any advice be great, thanks in advance

Okay so I have upgraded to latest version of Electrum and all the options are there. I'm thinking I could do a double spend as it is still unconfirmed, is there any risk to this?

Unless is there another way to up the fee on it? I dont understand the "CPFP" thing.

thanks

Personally, i set my electrum preferences towards fees as:
- use dynamic fees => yes
- edit fees manually => yes
- enable replace-by-fee => yes

This way all bases are covered:
- electrum calculates what he thinks is an optimal fee
- you have a slider to edit the fees
- you can change the fee manually, overriding any automatic or slider setting
- if you still manage to mess up, and add to low fee, you can use the RBF functionality to edit the fee even after the tx has been broadcasted.

Apologies if being a pain but I dont see the option to set that when in sending tab. Is just a place for pay to, description and amount.
I'm using it on a raspberry pi if that makes any difference.

thanks

I've submitted your tx to ViaBTC's accelerator, it should get confirmed pretty soon.
Depends on how soon will ViaBTC's pool find a block though.

Thank you very much for that. really appreciate it.

So what should I set my fee to? Dynamic fee a good idea?

thanks

thanks a million for that. I thought I have the fee high enough. It is my first time using electrum. I do not seem to be able to raise the fee as suggested in that article. I may not have set it up to do so. Is there another option? Can I resend the payment with higher fee essentially double spending?

thanks a million.

Hi All,
Yes sorry another question about no confirmations. I have tried reading the docs but I do not reall y understand them so apologies for just asking.

I'm trying to send a payment but it is still not confirming. The size is 191bytes and I have it set to .5mBTC/kb (the default amount). From what I read that is quite a high fee. Is this correct? Is it a case that I did not leave enough in the wallet because with fee it would be empty? I'm trying to add a little extra to wallet to see if that solves issue. I'm sending the equivalent of about £100. I have not used BTC in a while but I dont remember having to worry about the fee before like this. I was using multibit before.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
