Before sending in, flash the stock bios, verify the PPID in the bios (hex editor) and VGA-Information to be same as on the sticker. No need to change the checksum, the PPID is outside of the checksummed space.

Yes it is called too much overclocking. Try not to. Or problem with power supply to one of the cards. Or faulty card. But it is too much ocerclocking 90%. Is there a way to see which card is doing this problem? |

I touched similar problem at the border of 7/8 GPU, increasing virtual memory solved.

Try disabling UEFI and olso do those: - if not all gpus are working try changing PCI GEN to 2 or 1 or AUTO - make integrated GPU as default - upgrade bios to newest or not  - Use a Skylake processor - enable 4G decoding If non of those will help and also none from those images helps then i really have no idea  Tytanick, I just wanted to confirm that I am still able to to boot smOS with above 4G decoding enabled on two separate MSI z170a M5 mobos. To those of you having problems, are you running the Beta kernel (4.11rc3)? Are you SURE you have downloaded and successfully installed MSI's updated bios (1.D)? If you haven't updated the BIOS to 1.D, you will not be able to get it to boot properly with the board fully loaded with cards without doing some hacking on the BIOS. MSI Gaming Pro Carbon with the newest v1.7 bios. Any ideas? I'm sorry to say that I am out of ideas beyond what I have posted over the last week or two. If you have tried everything I posted, I'm at a loss. EDIT: You may want to compare the release date for the latest BIOS for your mobo with BIOS ver. 1.D for the z170a M5 board. If your BIOS predates 1.D, it may be that MSI hasn't updated your BIOS to handle more cards since my mobo couldn't handle a full set of cards without hacking until BIOS ver. 1.D. As windows boots only in uefi mode with "Above 4G decoding", maybe linux should be booted in uefi mode? |

Maybe it's important, windows boot's only in UEFI mode with the above 4g option enabled. Without the above 4g option windows boots normal and uefi but only 6gpu will be loaded, 7th gpu will get error #12.

Do not connect with RDP, it changes the numbering. Connect with vnc and see the correct numbering  |

Hi, I try simple os, but I have problems with it. Miner works only for 4 gpu, when I use 5 or 6 gpu's I get an error.My rig contains: Power Color 2х470 8gb, 2х480 8gb and 2х480 4gb motherboard prime 270-p Do I need any additional information about the system? I write image to USB flash drive 8gb Error example in attach. Hi.
I have sometimes the issue, one GPU (1 of 7), usually GPU3 or GPU4 is starting with a much lower hashrate, for example one GPU about 7MH, the other above 30. Also the DAG generation on this GPU takes longer. Have You some idea how to solve? Sometimes, after many reboot's is't ok and all GPU have high hashrate.

Guys, this rom works with Asus Strix RX 480 O 8GB? tryied to play with bios my self but do have interesting results under ethos - few cards at 28-29 and other at 18-19 all cards are same with samsung chips (Ellesmere). Maybe any1 can comment on that or share a rom wiht undervolt included (not sure how to undervolt rx480 under ethos)? Set memory voltage to 950 with some tools. GPU voltage is automatic from P5 level. did u try it on ethos as well? it seems that i get somekind errors with this rom... seems like it doesn't understand decreas of voltage of 950mV at 2000Mhz... or may be there is another issue? Don't know for ethos, in windows use WattTool and there set 950 or less for memory voltage for each card, manually and later, if stable with a batch file. |
