1  Other / Archival / Re: EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 28, 2018, 05:26:34 AM
I, personally, wouldn't mind my young kids to learn about cryptocurrency in school. These kids are the future and there is no harm in learning something such as virtual currencies which are likely to be in their future.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin become centralized sometime in the future? on: May 28, 2018, 04:56:09 AM
I am hopeful that bitcoin, or any other virtual currency will replace the need for banks. Once bitcoin reaches the the point where hundreds of transactions can be settled per second, the decentralized nature of bitcoin could provide general consumers with a more efficient, secure, and cost-efficient financial framework as an alternative to the global banking infrastructure.

I think the real question is, how do we even save our planet from ultimate destruction. Because while we deal with all these political and economical issues, are Earth --our home -- is deteriorating at a rapid rate.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: blockchain and business on: May 28, 2018, 04:03:17 AM
I think future business models would certainly incorporate blockchain technology. The tech is proving to have many benefits and advantages. I won't be surprised if they contribute to the strengthening of virtual currency usage as well.
5  Other / Off-topic / This Will Get You Excited About Virtual Reality on: May 28, 2018, 02:50:19 AM
Who else is into VR headsets here? A contributor for Forbes.com attended the 2018 Game Developers Conference (GDC 2018) and assessed the current state of VR. He says there were a lot less experimental VR and a lot more commercial VR showcased this year. These new apps and games apparently have one goal –to keep us thoroughly entertained.

The Museum of Other Realities (MOR) for the HTC Vive seems very interesting. The MOR experience is designed like a real-world art museum, giving a virtual platform for artists in the world to show off all the amazing VR art they have been making for the last two years.

It really is an exciting time for VR.

6  Other / Politics & Society / Drugged Mussels Found in Puget on: May 28, 2018, 02:33:22 AM
This is a bit of a shocker. An article on Washington Post says that scientists who work to track pollution have discovered traces of the oxycodone in some Puget Sound mussels. They discovered three out of 18 locations came back positive for trace amounts of the pain reliever drug. Apparently, scientists usually find chemical compounds in Puget Sound waters, ranging from pharmaceuticals to drugs such as cocaine, but this is the first time that opioids have been discovered in local shellfish, according to the Puget Sound Institute.

So waters have been contaminated all this time? Even if traces of the drug are just in small doses, are we still comfortable feeding these to our children?

It’s very alarming how everything seems to be contaminated nowadays.

While I disagree with your description of your photo, I agree with the fact that human are taking too much advantage of our natural resources. We are now facing global warming, water shortage etc.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the options for the future? on: May 25, 2018, 07:13:08 AM
I believe blockchain truly is a breakthrough technology that provide plenty of benefits to society, including virtual currencies. And so this virtual, cryptoworld is already in our midst.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: What does the future of bitcoin look like?? on: May 25, 2018, 07:09:56 AM
It certainly looks bright. The digital economy alone shouldn’t be understated. More and more people are investing their real-world money in virtual assets, while businesses of all sizes have begun to accept cryptocurrencies in exchange for goods and services both online and in-store. Even insurance agencies are seeing the potential for blockchain technology.Truly, virtual currencies are the future.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Future on: May 25, 2018, 05:37:01 AM
We can't predict the future per se. But we can certainly make informed guesses. These are based on extrapolation of trends or on probabilities and likelihoods. Also, why make predictions when we can somehow create our future? For instance, the different kinds of technology (virtual reality, etc) will certainly shape the future.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 25, 2018, 05:25:03 AM
I agree with what an investor said about bubbles. He says these bubbles are necessary to bring capital into the market to see if these innovations are actually going to stand. So slowly but surely, it seems that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are creeping into our lives. And in the near future, cash will be a thing of the past.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: Computer usage and health on: May 25, 2018, 05:17:31 AM
What is interesting is how scientists are preparing for a future where our bodies won't be a hindrance anymore. What if we all were to live in a virtual world?
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: How Bitcoin Change your life. on: May 25, 2018, 05:09:06 AM
Bitcoin made me more open to technology and its role in society. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general for me, is a prelude to a digital-dependent future.
14  Other / Politics & Society / Hurrican Harvey was Powered by Global Warming on: May 25, 2018, 03:45:07 AM
Then it’s our fault too. According to an article posted on The Guardian, it were the hot oceans that fueled Hurricane Harvey, producing intense rainfall. The scientists used rainfall data and calculated how much heat fell in the form of rain. The results were a nearly perfect match with the energy taken up by the storm. And just before Harvey, ocean waters both globally and in the Gulf of Mexico were at record temperature because of human warming.

This could mean that storms can become more violent in our continuously warming world.

Oh, Earth. We continue to fail you.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Solar Panels Produce Toxic Waste on: May 25, 2018, 02:34:54 AM
I read an article on Forbes that reports how solar panels aren’t so clean after all. A Chinese solar official, along with research scientists with the German Stuttgart Institute for Photovoltaics, discovered the problem of solar panel disposal. They say it, “will explode with full force in two or three decades and wreck the environment” because it “is a huge amount of waste and they are not easy to recycle.” And apparently, pollutants such as lead or carcinogenic cadmium can be almost completely washed out of the fragments of solar modules over a period of several months, for example by rainwater.”

How ironic is it that even as we try to create a sustainable environment, our efforts are only making it worse?

Is there really no hope for saving our Earth?

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital money is cashless society on: May 24, 2018, 11:49:19 AM
A cashless society will help pave the way toward living in a virtual world. Easy, convenient and seamless.
17  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your vision of a perfect future? on: May 24, 2018, 09:09:59 AM
My ideal future would be living in a world without want, where materialism won't be an ideology and the environment is not endangered.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you like Virtual reality? on: May 24, 2018, 08:35:12 AM
I agree. VR needs lots of improvement. But I'm definitely excited to explore its many benefits --especially how it makes an impact on art, science, politics, etc.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would YOU choose to live forever? on: May 24, 2018, 08:27:36 AM
Even virtual reality will make living forever possible. If I get the opportunity to extend my life, especially if I get to live it with my family, I'm all for it.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Human's immortality on: May 24, 2018, 08:21:32 AM
More and more reports nowadays are painting a virtual world in the future where it is possible for human consciousness to be digitized.
