I think it could be really good for us to start a new ann. The original dev is gone and there is no way to update the OP with new information.
I will do so next week when I have more time (I'm somewhat picky, being a UI designer and all).
|
|
|
I have also updated the code to support compiling with UPnP support, so you should no longer need to add nodes via a conf file with these recent updates.
|
|
|
Dev pool is now up again at pool.projectwyvern.com
|
|
|
Who is the new/official developer here now? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Probably because development is back underway, led by protinam.
|
|
|
The pool's DNS servers were changed, and I forgot to have the new records brought up to date. They should be fixed soon. Apologies, Clink

Update: We have retrieved investment funds, and development can now continue!
WYV wallet issue at Crypothub. It seems that transaction creating has taken more 30 than seconds so it was considered like unsuccessfull but actually it was sent. How it can be? Cryptohub now has balances mismatched and one user obtained 2000 WYV for this issue, perhaps Cryptohub will delist WYV.
Did you compile the daemon yourself or download the precompiled binary?

Hi guys,
I have owed you all an update for some time now, and apologize for being tardy.
For those of you who have not joined our Slack channel, here's what has been going on:
Nukeless has been highly uncommunicative with everyone. After 2 months of frustratingly intermittent contact through others, I finally managed to talk to him directly and he stated he didn't really have time to work on the project, and was considering refunding the investors. I mentioned that a few people had offered to take over the project but he did not say anything in response; in fact, that was the last I heard from him for yet another 2-3 weeks, despite my frequent phones calls and text messages.
I was getting tired of him avoiding me, so I contacted a family member on Aug 17th asking them to prod him. After a week of pestering by said family member (and several mentions of the word lawsuit) he texted me on Aug 23rd saying "Funds are being rebought in BTC and will be sent out shortly for redistribution". That's the last message I received from him thus far, and I am assuming that means he has no interest in leading the project any longer.
However, one of the community contributors here has showed interesting in taking over the coin, however they wish to wait until we retrieve the investment funds before doing so.
I want to apologize for not being present here and keeping people up to date. I have limited time and some chronic health issues, and dealing with the added stress of trying to manage PR in multiple places was a bit too much. Also, because I am currently focusing on a career transition I will be leaving Project Wyvern in the near future, so I'm vacating the lead developer position and will be handling PR instead until someone can take that over as well.
TL;DR - Nukeless has abandoned project, is late returning funds. Someone else wants to take over but won't until we have funds back.
When should we be expecting refunds? If we dont hear within the next 7 days, Nukeless will be reported to the SEC for securities fraud, he conducted a ICO and then ran off with the funds, I wasn't able to post here for a couple days, but Nukeless posted an update on the project website (which has since been suspended because his card expired) saying funds have been sent to a BTC wallet and the private key should be transferred to investors by the 7th. If you have not received the private key, please let me know. (I attempted to pay the website bill but do not have possession of the recovery email)

Can you post which version of the levelDB libraries you were using to compile?
leveldb-1.9.0 but stop..... WTF I just downloaded from git and there is a file "wyvernd", and it works, so i don't need to compile, how can it be? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I compiled it with built-in dependencies so it would be plug and play if people needed (which you did, apparently). Glad it's working for you. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Nobody is here? please help with the compiling, i'm going to launch pool for this coin
My apologies, my phone notifications haven't been working right due to a bad flash. I have reflashed and all is good now. Can you post which version of the levelDB libraries you were using to compile? Any news on project? I really hope it wouldn't die halfway to the top.
I asked Colonel_Clink on slack about joining Project Wyvern team and yeah I wanted to help out with some "logistic" things in whole project and promotion the whole project so not join just to be in team. And he didn't even answered xD So I don't know what is going on out there. I have been doing the best I can; no notifications meant I was unaware the question was asked for some time. We are looking for marketing and promotional help; this meeting we will create a plan to get things rolling for people who want to help out.

Here's a sneak peek at the website mockup: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimgur.com%2F4KsmSzs&t=663&c=EZQCP64-A9N7iQ) and the planned sitemap: (still have lots of tweaks to make, so this can change in the future) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimgur.com%2FkLN8nI3&t=663&c=fuyafuYAL05ppQ) Dont let comments bring you down here, but it does look pretty unprofessional. The website seems to focus on the coin rather than an exchange which is what i thought we were going for. Anyway, still invested and wont dump. Im excited for the wallet ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thanks for the feedback guys; I unwittingly posted the wrong image for the mockup. It was supposed to be a screenshot of the store, but Nukeling and I had miscommunicated with the dev team, and as a result they left out the store page. It should be done this weekend. I agree with most of the points brought up; it does need work. I have to clarify something here though: The framework for the exchange is mostly complete, so we're working on visuals. The point was not to have a finished product, but rather to create a proof of concept to allow us to do layout planning. This is the first iteration of a design for the market site that will be on exchange.projectwyvern.com (currently non-operational). The look and feel will change as we refine the concept. We can't simply modify the www.projectwyvern.com site as it hosted on SquareSpace (it needs to be migrated to our VPS instead). Again, thanks for the feedback, we'll keep revising until it's good.

We should come up with a way to start distributing Wyvern to gamers & other interested parties who haven't heard about it yet; get the name and brand out there some more.
Maybe miners could agree to sponsor some kind of airdrop event with proof of interest - require a Steam account, and distribute Wyvern according to hours played, for example.
Thoughts?
I agree that we need a marketing strategy; most gamers don't know Wyvern exists. The airdrop idea is interesting - would that be appealing to gamers? Another option could be sponsorship of a tournament / player / team in eSports - maybe DOTA / CSGO / League of Legends? Any team / tournament ideas? We'd need to crowdfund the sponsorship and appoint a representative, maybe one of the coin devs. Those are both interesting sounding ideas. I'm not familiar with airdrops, how do they work?

For those of you who are worried about BTC devaluation, we split the holdings between BTC and ETH. So far it's been a good decision, but we're watching the market carefully. If we need to, we will split to USD as well.

Dev communication is really problematic... http://coinminers.net supports Wyvern from the beginning but it's never listed in announcement ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I am very sorry the announcement wasn't updated; it's possible we just missed your post. I will let Nukeless know to add a link.

I apologize for the lack of updates; Nukeless was on vacation and I've been dealing with some unfortunate circumstances which pushed everything in my schedule out a couple weeks: I had a friend of the family pass away unexpectedly, and I had to postpone my pending RHCE exam for a week (The exam machine then failed before the test began and I had to reschedule yet again!). However, Nukeless has returned from vacation and things have slowed down for me, so we are focusing on getting back on track.
The design team is working full steam on the WYVCorp website mockup; it will be finished this week (they are prioritizing the website over supplementary wallet graphics). I'm meeting with them tonight to obtain some screenshots for you guys; I know you're impatient, I am too! I'm also a perfectionist - an interesting paradox...
I will begin work on the skin tonight; design team delays notwithstanding, I can at least create a mockup and finish setting up my Windows build environment.
Hang in there, we're still alive and kicking!

For those looking for some news:
I am in the process of making minor tweaks to the wallet and reskinning it. We are planning a look similar to the website to match the new branding; the skin needs matching font and icons, and I'm currently waiting on those from the design team.
In addition, I have been recently assigned development of the Windows wallet, so I will be setting up my build environment for Windows releases this weekend. Once the skin is done, I will crank out a new wallet release.
More news is forthcoming!

I bought back in, couldnt resist. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Missed you guys. Hows the website coming guys? Edit: Any news on the zerocoin implimentation? Welcome back! At the moment we are still in the planning stages; coming up with the look and feel for the site, fleshing out the mechanics, etc. As far as I'm aware, no decision has been made on a zerocoin implementation yet (it will likely be decided on in the next board meeting).

- Windows version
- Driver version and where you obtained it
- Video card bios version
Thanks, I'd appreciate it. Windows 10 Driver version in 17.4.4, obtained directly from AMD. I've tried a few other versions too, but I forget them all. BIOS version is the latest from MSI 015.050.000.000 (the card came installed with this BIOS - I've not changed it) Forgot to ask which version of sgminer you're using (if you're not using 5.6.1 from https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer/releases, give it a try. If you are, try the previous version). I was using 4.1.0, linked in the OP. I've tried 5.6.1 now, same issue though unfortunately. Seems the nicehash miner isn't working for the team member either (he's using Crimson ReLive 17.1.1 drivers though). Try this config with sph-sgminer: "intensity" : "18", "worksize" : "256", "kernel" : "nist5", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "8192", "shaders" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "2", "gpu-engine" : "0-0", "gpu-fan" : "0-0", "gpu-memclock" : "0", "gpu-memdiff" : "0", "gpu-powertune" : "0", "gpu-vddc" : "0.000", "temp-cutoff" : "95", "temp-overheat" : "85", "temp-target" : "75", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "28", "failover-switch-delay" : "60", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "7", "tcp-keepalive" : "30", "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "shares" : "0", "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin" That works with sph-sgminer. Will play around on the newer version later, but looks like something in my conf was the issue. Thanks very much! You're very welcome. FWIW: we also tried this config with the newer versions and continued to have bluescreens, so something is definitely funky. Out of curiosity, would you mind following the instructions at https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner/issues/873 and attaching your debug log? I too get a blue screen when I use the same config with the nicehash miner. I've run the check_all_AMD.bat as requested. It didn't give much output. Is this all you need, or is it the sgminer log you'd like? If so, could you give me the switches to use to get log output? [ { "PlatformName": "AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing", "PlatformNum": 0, "Devices" : [ { "DeviceID" : 0, "AMD_BUS_ID" : 2, "_CL_DEVICE_NAME" : "Ellesmere", "_CL_DEVICE_TYPE" : "GPU", "_CL_DEVICE_GLOBAL_MEM_SIZE" : 8589934592, "_CL_DEVICE_VENDOR" : "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.", "_CL_DEVICE_VERSION" : "OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (2348.3)", "_CL_DRIVER_VERSION" : "2348.3" } ] } ] Cheers. Looks pretty standard. To get the debug logs, append to the command line (though I'm not sure how much good they will do; looking at the Nicehash Github open issues, it seems most algos do not work on Polaris cards with the recent builds of sgminer).

To answer some upthread questions, yes I'm running my nist5 on Nvidia, so SGminer wasn't doing so hot.
As far as I can tell I'm using a nist5 optimized CC miner, but it's really hard to figure out versioning of those two programs (SG/CC) because google is very outdated typically and there doesn't seem to be a single good repository of info of version history and specialized forks.
For those trying to get SG/CC/Sph working, make sure you're using the right "algo" command line argument. Some use -k, some use -a or -algo, others don't need it if they only support a single algo and/or auto-detect the algo from the stratum server.
Correct, SGminer doesn't seem to do well on Nvidia cards for the moment. The recommended version of CCminer is tpruvot's v2.0 w/CUDA 8, released here: https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases UNLESS you have an older card with only CUDA 7.5 support (e.g. my old GTX760, which only worked with v1.6.4).
