A suggestion - rather than making me choose an exchange up front, run the calculation on all the exchanges and show the results for each, sorted by most profitable first.
Very good idea. Thanks! The tool now works as wormbog suggested: each exchange site can be enabled/disabled individually (all enabled by default) and CT Path Finder will show the top results (sorted from best to worst) among the enabled exchange sites. I think it is better like this; less unnecessary clicks. |

Cool idea dude ..will give it a spin ....automate the internal excel spreadsheet in our head  Yup, off the top of my head I'd say the advantages of using CT Path Finder are - It saves us the time and effort required to do the computations by ourselves.
- It explores all the possibilites, not just the few that we would check by hand!
- There is no risk of making a mistake during the computations.

All I get is impossible on going from one to another
Are you sure that you are looking at the whole output? The first line shows what would be the result of a direct exchange, which can be "Impossible" if that specific pair can't be bought/sold, but the second line shows the optimal sequence of trades, which should not be "Impossible" because it involves using intermediate currencies. seems theirs a few things not working like best way for other alt coins usd to btc only working so it seems sayng to go USd to LTC then BTC everything else says 0

Fantastic work. Next step to this (and the real money maker) is to turn this into an autoexchanger.

Update: CT Path Finder's output now shows the direct exchange rate and the % increase of the optimal path with respect to it.

I hope it is useful for people who trade between cryptocurrencies on a regular basis (for instance, people who are mining alt coins). The project actually started as a tool for my own use, but with a little more effort and some help from a couple of friends it became what it is now: a tool that can be used by anyone.
I will be checking this thread as often as I can, answering questions if there are any.
