This sounds exactly like the project I was waiting for !

To sum up, I've tried to build a P2P self-learning network a few years ago, following my PhD in neural networks. The purpose was to strengthen links between people sharing same interests, to build a distributed search engine. But it was in 2001, too early indeed

Since then, I work in 'collective intelligence' fields (tedX about serendipity and neuronal chaos), and I am therefore very interested in helping this project :
- french translations
- building french communities (fb,tw,website,meetings,...)
- code ( fluent in js and php, mobile dev)
- algorithms (machine learning, dataviz)

If it looks like nec, this is may due to the blue... so... as it is a green money, here is a new version of a FDFFGNC : 'flat designed future fractal green nem coin'

- I predict future coins will be square ! hmm... I believe...
- with a free 'fractal' effect added : infinite zoom is possible, as the whole coin has the shape of the 'E'
- the 'N' is like a gate : enter in the New Economy Model !
- the 'E' can be seen as a hand : sharing is caring
- the 'M', I don't know... The shape of a guy into the gate ? ie a human centered money ?

So, those hieroglyphs may also mean : "enter the gate, welcome to sharing, it is YOUR green money".

This is 'nem plus ultra' version !

All the letters have the same shape, so the 'E' gathers the N and the M, and could become the money icon :

I am not a graphic designer, so I am sure it can be improved. This is a very first try, for fun.

Fine. I understand better the debate. Happy to know this kind of behavior is planned.
Then, this poll % could be used to set the destination of those 9M nxt... ( i.e for now : 22% frozen, 8% back to genesis,57% to fund projects,...)

This way, everybody is happy, and there will be no fight anymore on our small planet

and what if the nxt community IS the committee ?...

nxt api could be used/hacked to make a poll system, with messaging included. Any user could create a poll for a project with reward. If there is enough votes (% of the community ?), the project is launched. Moreover, it could be possible to add api calls to register apps, returning a unique app/project token-id, which allows to count numbers of registered users and votes for each app/projects afterwards, and gives the winner of the award.

Don't know exactly how this could be done now, but couldn't this be added to the API2 ?

I don't understand why this amount is not used to speed up nxt projects, which make nxt better known and more used.
For example, I plan to add features in my mobile app to make people buy and sell physical goods, by convincing local shops to use nxt. It would be really valuable to offer those shops a starting wallet ! it would speed up the nxt propagation in real life. I do think nxt has to become more than one more speculative money, but this has a starting cost I can not afford alone.

A committee is a good idea, to follow the efficiency of all those projects, and if one is made, I would be pleased to be allowed to join it.

Don't burn such an opportunity to show that nxt is really valuable ! But I may have misunderstood why such an amount has to be frozen or sent back to genesis...

I have two main api addons to ask, because I'm faced with a few limitations in my mobile app :

- forged blocks statistics for a given account :
I've been said I have to crawl blocks to know who has computed each, and sum the coins for each account number (I may be wrong...). If it sounds possible, a api call giving forging stats for a nxt account would be relevant

- tokens to replace the passphrase into api calls :
To send money, one has to send his own passphrase through http. This is truly not secured, because communications can be listened, and modified 'reliable' nodes can store passphrases using a api proxy for example... I'd rather have a solution to use api without any passphrase. To do so, one may imagine the following services :

     getAppToken(application_name, application_secretkey) : returns a token (token_app), used to identify application provider. this token can be given publicly to the users who want to give the app access to their accounts

     allowApp(token_app,account_passphrase, array of allowed functions) : returns a token (token_account_app), which certifies that the account owner allows the app to access to a list of api calls (send money, send message, ...)

The token_account_app is sent by the user to the app owner, who can use it to sign secured API calls, with his own application_secretkey. The called node has to verify the matching between application_secretkey, token_account_app, and allowed api services. The application_secretkey allows to certify it is called from the application owner. (this is close to app_ID+app_secretkey used into google,fb,twitter apis for example).

Doing so, the user does not have anymore to send his passphrase to send money, for example. He can also call a disallowApp(token_app,account_passphrase), which returns the same token_account_app, but remove all allowed functions. Doing so, the application can not call anymore any API functions. The allowed functions list could be stored into the blockchain, or even locally on the application dedicated node (ie the user allows a specified node to do API calls).

I've tried to keep it simple, and this is certainly not perfect. This is a very first proposal, in order to talk about with nxt teams. Maybe we could also use aliases to identify applications, or even hack the messages process to validate transactions... Whatever solution is used, I do think it is relevant not to send user's passphrase into the api calls made from external services.

PS : another subject... Wouldn't it be possible to imagine an API call made to check a nxt node code has not been modified (in order to hack accounts for example) ? I know... this function could be modified by the node owner, to return the good checksum... so, this should be made externally, by a external peer. For example, the API service returns the server local main files, calling an external peer hashing service (hashing algorithm being secret, and peer dependent). If it matches, one can say the node uses not modified files. To hack this, one should have to modify hashing algorithm on all peers, which sounds quite difficult. The tested node could also send fake files, but maybe there is a solution to hash running code (and not local files) ?... don't know... this is just a thought.

I will add some information dealing with the last release of the iPhone app I am working on (it is also available for android or kindle).
It is still in development, and I plan to have it finished and available on appstore by the end of january.

Welcome screen :

This screen allows to choose one of the accounts you have checked as favorite. It shows accounts numbers, current balance, and list of aliases. You can click on one account to open the welcome screen, to access to account functions. You have access on this page to the 'add new account' page, and the setup page.

Add new account :

you can enter here a new account number. You can also use QRCODE to scan a account number by clicking on the camera icon

Setup page :
you can change here your nxt node, and choose one of the templates


Once you have entered a valid account number, or selected one of your favorites, you enter into the account functions :

Account information :

you have here the account main information : account number, balances (current,effective and unconfirmed), and a clickable list of the aliases. You can open the URI (if any) linked to the alias. To add the account onto the welcome screen, you can check it here as a favorite

Transactions :

This screen shows the list of account transactions : amount,date,number of validations. By clicking on a transaction you open the transaction screen

transaction screen :

This screen gives more information about the transaction : sender, recipient, amount, fee, and number of validations. By clicking on one of the account numbers, you can switch to this account (to add it as a favorite if you want)

dgex volumes

It shows the last offers made on dgex.com, to follow nxt value.

To sum up, I've tried to keep it as simple as possible, and feedbacks of first users allow to improve it.

New features are coming soon :
- QRCODE to enter a transaction (because I would like to use the app for physical merchants)
- send money (waiting for NXT API2, in order not to have to enter passphrase...)
- messaging
- NXT/BTC/EUR/$ charts
- links to main nxt news
- switchable nxt nodes
- alias creation.
- account links to adress book
- more features asked by users...

And then, I hope, it will be available on app store It may become open source if there is a strong net community interest.

If you want to try it, you can PM your iPhone UDID, I will register your iPhone and send you a download link. For android, I can send a link to download the apk file.
