1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote Windows CPU Miner v3.5 on: October 20, 2017, 07:21:38 PM
Hi all, I am new to CPU mining and have some questions:

My pool 32 bat file looks like this:
NsCpuCNMiner64.exe -o stratum+tcp://xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14444 -u myaddress-p x -t 4

So my first question is, do I need to put a password? The only monero wallet I have is the online one from https://mymonero.com/#/

Next after I run the batch file, command prompt opens with the above line displayed but nothing is happening. When I run as administrator cmd flashes then closes with nothing happening. What am I doing wrong, can anyone shed light? Thanks

hey yall i picked up some new rx480 black standard 4gb GPUs and oc'd my system and flashed the gpu's bios but cant seem to get over 25mhz with these cards. Anyone have luck with em?

@Claymore

Is it possible for the RX480-8GB to reach the hash of 43 MH / s in ETH?

I do not know how, but I have 3 RX480 doing between 41 and 43 MH / s running version 9.5

In the link below I put an image with the Miner screen

Is this information extracted from Miner being generated in the wrong way?

thats insane i did not even know that was possible with the 480's...cant even get over 25mhz with my 4gb's

Hey if I flash my vbios for GPUs and then reinstall the drivers for my AMD cards do I have to re-flash my cards or not? Thanks.

Hey all I added a 6th card to my rig and now every time I run claymores miner i get the windows error EthDcrMiner64.exe stopped working, tried with latest and older versions- anyone have this before?

Hi all, I had a power failure today and claymores miner was saying one of my gpus had failed when my rig restarted. I restarted again and I get 0mhz on the gpu that had failed. The card is detected in device manager but does not seem to be working. Any ideas what I should do?

pull and reseat the card. reseat the power plugs. change the riser if its on one.

unfortunately power outages can be brutal on electronics, especially when it comes back on as its unstable as thousands of appliances come on at the same time.. its possible you card is dead.

this worked after a few tries! Thanks, card was not damaged but should probably invest in a high end surge protector in the near future.

yeah surge suppressors are more or less a must have, but only use quality ones. cheap ones have been known to catch fire.

if you can swing it get a whole house unit that mounts at the breaker panel.

what is that exactly?

Also the problem seems to have come back even though the GPU was hashing, now its hanging again after re-doing what you just told me to do :/

Hi Guys and Gals,

What driver Version for AMD RX 4xx or 5xx are you using?
I cannot get the old 15.12 to run on Win10 1703.
Are the newer Versions fine with you performance and stability wise?

cheers!

Im currently using 16.9.2 as when I use the latest driver changing the clock speeds makes my cards go to 4mhz

Did you resolve this? When i start messing with afterburner, my cards also drop to 4 MH/s. Resetting to default and rebooting seems to help. I am afraid to touch atm.

I just keep changing drivers to find what works as new problems keep occurring. With 16.9.2 it works and I dont get the 4.1mhz drop but now I cant get over 1950ish for memory clock without my rig having to restart.

Im having some weird problems with my WIFI whenever i run clay mores miner. When I am mining, my wifi is only working on my laptop in the same room as my rig and where my router is, but whenever I go to another room the wifi signal drops. If i turn claymore off/stop mining, my wifi is perfectly back to normal...can anyone explain this??

Everything worked but now the issue getting over the 25-26 hurdle, every time I over clock past 1950ish my screen goes to black/blue/white and have to restart, any ideas how to overcome this?

still stuck on this, changed to multiple drivers but still cant get over 1950-2000 without my screen going to black. Anyone have this before, would like to get a higher hashrate!

You don't want the highest hash rate where the rig constantly crashes or reboots. You want it to be stable for days and days. You don't make money when it is crashed or rebooting. If the card stops mining then the settings for it are too high. Remember, each card in the same batch can have different results based on the quality of the memory chips (this is just luck). Some can be overclocked more than others. I know a guy that runs a large mining farm. He mods all the BIOS in his cards but never runs them past 1880 MHz for memory speed. He said the stability he achieves is better than pushing them more and having them crashing all day.

Yes... i cannot stress enough how important stability is.
ONE single hang or reboot.. and your OC bonus is out the window. Mostly likely you are already in the loss. It might even take a while before you notice unless you have warning systems... and even they take time to activate.

You want them to run for weeks without maintainance.
really with my other rig I had to spend maybe 5-6 hours spread over many days to get my hashrate to 28-30 and now its stable, dont you think it would be logical to take some time to figure out this issues and get from 24-25 to 28 and then not touch it anymore after that.

What brand of card are you using?  What is the stock mem clock speed?

Ive got the regular black edition and stock speed is 1750. I realize the results will vary but figured 480s could get over 25 easily...at least 27 with any problems occurring.

Hi all, I have a new rig and I've tried all the tricks in the book but my cards are stuck at 22mhz. I've tried all the different crimson drivers, re-installed windows, did DDU, updated the BIOS, tried different version of claymore, modified afterburner config and still nothing. In afterburner if I try to overclock memory past 1900 i get blue/white screen and even if I go less than 1900 my hash rate decreases from 22 to 19. Any suggestions how to fix this? I am trying with rx480 4gb on windows 10 claymore 9.3 and crimson 16.9 (but have tried other versions).

Try the newest AMD drivers (I think 17.3.4 or something like that) and then use them using the Pixel Patcher (Google for it). I am using the newest drivers patched and they are hashing well. Are you sure you used a modded ROM for the memory type in your card. The memory used in the cards can change from run to run. So a mod for your card for one memory type might not work properly or has well if you have another memory type in your card. Check out youtube videos from cryptomined and others. They have lots of good information about modding, putting together rigs, etc. It also might be an issue with the BIOS on your motherboard. Some just do mine well. Make sure your motherboard BIOS is the latest available for your board.

I have the latest version of my bios and have tried latest crimson drivers- I have not modded any of the cards unless you meant memory clock which I have tried to modify but computer crashes every time I do so. I will take a look at the pixel patcher you mentioned. My board is a z97 guard pro.

To get more speed you need to mod the VBIOS on the graphics card. There are many youtube videos on how to do this. On most cards, depending on the memory (use GPU-Z to read memory type) and copy the memory straps from 1500 to all higher values. You need atiflash 2.7.4 and Polaris editor. Search youtube for videos on modding the bios for your band and type of card. Then go from there.

Without BIOS mod you can not get those values

well I have them!! Also thanks the videos on youtube about the VBIOS work! Maybe i should try them on my other rig and I can probs get 30mhz! Thanks again!

Yes i saw this but I didnt have to go through this process with my other rig where i can get 28.5-29 without any modding of the BIOS'
