Hey guys is there still a running server for huntercoin these days or not at all? Tried to see how much HUC my old wallets have but won't sync lol Cheers!

Disaster as it stands:
Instead of a complete wipe (which, until further optimizations (or faster hardware?) takes too long to process) there will be a "poison" - like a plague.
When the disaster hits, everyone will be poisoned, and given a random life expectancy, between 1 and 50 blocks (maybe 100.. waiting on test results).. they will all die over the space of 50 blocks (or 100) at random intervals (set at time of disaster to limit possible miner manipulation).
another sort of advantage to this, is that if miners tried to some how find disaster blocks only, then they would not get all 4% of coins on the map, as they would need to mine the next 50 (or 100) blocks to get them all.
This isn't set, and even if we use the following parameters, we may change at a later time if things do not turn out as expected.
Poison will trigger on average every 10 days.
Poison cannot trigger within 3 days after the last poison.
Max duration until Poison WILL happen, hasn't really been set yet (maybe 20 days)
calling it poison for now, but it may be called Cleansing or just disaster.
We won't be adding expiry (life expectancy) but that is possible.
Cost of General:
When you create a Team, you will have no Hunters, only 1 general - you can still pickup hearts.
Cost of General = 20 HUCs

Honestly, have been through 100s of scenareos to make the game more playable.. this seems the best for now.. if it needs changing or tweaking, we are there to support/fix it.
Think I said it before, but not sure, maybe only "thought it" lol: 1. When "poisoning strikes", will coins drop where hunter dies? (aka 20HUC / General + 0 for "normal hunters") 2. So every player will lose everything basically?? Aka there is no "safe zone" like I thought would be a good idea to "have a chance saving the general" - having all human players stand there with nothing after disaster/poisoning will mean only bots after that, or at least a lot more - they have more coins + resources to overtake imho. I believe 2. is a real issue, the casual players will only play with way less players and the bots will just cash all in, knowing they will have another 3 days of full cashing after a poisoning... Not sure how to prevent it, but again, one or more "safe zones" would be an idea. Yes, bots will use them too, but humans can play "relatively safe" just around safe zones if they wish and "park" their hunters there instead of just losing them all the time - especially since recycling is no option anymore, having them "overnight" is a dead sentence in the new scenario. (20HUC == huge target + not online to react) Other than that I am sure it will be heaps of fun (or not, if you are not online when it happens..) - like an "event" every few days, go HUC go!!! |

HUC/LTC?? Not good, not good at all... Now HUC is going to be seen as just another cheap altcoin by many, not good... Why not just HUC/BTC like Poly? Bad move in my opinion  PS: Can you keep your lengthy advertising out of here please? I appreciate you list HUC, but the thing you seem to care "almost exclusively" here is promoting your company... Yeah no kidding. I banked 100 which is insane as it is.... could of done more but didn't want to sit here all night in front of my box. By the looks of things seems like more people are getting on the right chain. And what happened to BGB??? BGB already killed 7 of my generals in the passed 10 hours... it's alive and getting more stronger. watch out.. Wouldn't it make sense for us to team up against BGB? Wouldn't we make more HUC that way? Yes we would, but he has 400 teams sometimes... |

@paradigmflux: Could you just cut snailbrain some slack? YOU are probably the one who caused this all, considering the fuss you make about staying on "your chain"..... Just a thought - you aren't the BGB bot owner by any chance and see your profits disappearing?
Geez, this is an experimental coin, never done before and you act like you are entitled to being "right" - well newsflash, you are not.
Do we want to turn this into another sh..altcoin thread or stay on topic and wait it out? Attacking snailbrain is not doing you any good.
The well known saying is there for a reason: "If you don't want to say something nice, you can as well be quiet"... Try that, PLEASE...

It seems my btc balance has dropped by 12.3%. Could you please post somewhere on my account balances page the amount taken and like some sort of accounting function showing how much has been earned back? As of now it's just vaporized as far as i concerned. We basically need a receipt showing we loaned the site operator 12.3% of our balance.

That being said, I think that the mechanism for 'reparation' should be as such:
Distribute 12.5 % shares of your company to all customers, pro-rata their BTC.
Pay dividends on a frequent basis.
Offer to buy back shares if users so desire.
It would be excellent to have such mechanisms described and agreed for all exchanges...

BAD idea, and I doubt "it was suggested by users" - if you do that, you are benefiting from the situation and that does make you look very... So don't go that way. I didn't check the numbers posted earlier, but if you are cashing in almost 2 grand a day on fees, why are we even discussing this? (serious question) |

Could it have to do with size? maybe something related to line 470 in cryptlib.h? Sorry, didn't have a look at the source at all before, so might be totally off, but would possibly make sense if there is a size issue. Anyway, I keep on looking for a bit, fingers crossed you can pinpoint it soon, without a debug environment and on the weekend hard to say, geeez.

just to let you all know we are still working on it.. around the clock.. we want to sort ASAP.. because.. when this is fixed, and huntercoin works well.. I'm going to play Huntercoin and dominate in the game, and take all your HUCs  ya right  the world would definetelly conspire against you Thing is, the red guy that has the crown in red base with 633! coins right now has got like 300 or so people around him it looks like, so how are you/we going to even have a chance to break that? :-( If there would be an automatic crown drop after let's say 3 days, but this way he will have it like forever.... snail?? ....... eventually he need need to bank - it will then reset .. only way to stop the crown resetting to a central area is to bring an enemy colour to the crown holder, then blow him up, then have his own players waiting to pick it up.. but then there is a chance of someone else picking it up (it will go to a random player who is on the same square).. to get the crown, you need to get as many friends/workers as possible to storm the base.. probably most people won't even bother protecting because they don't want to waste their hunters.. if the crown holder sees that death is imminent he will have to bank, then the crown will reset.. +, the more people around him.. the more that will die from just one destruct eventually can be in like a month....... lol Anyway, hey snail, I have seen many blowups now, but they don't seem to follow a pattern, who exactly gets blown? Sometimes people 2 squares away still live, it's weird.... can you comment and shed some light on it based on my following ascii-art?  normal hunter (x=blown s=safe): sssssssss sxxxxxxxs sxxxxxxxs sxxxxxxxs sxxxhxxxs sxxxxxxxs sxxxxxxxs sxxxxxxxs sssssssss that's how I understood the 3-fields-reach, but like said, it doesn't seem to work like that in real game....
