Anyone knows when exchanges will credit the Lumens? Particularly Kraken. I heard those who verified their own wallets with KYC/AML through Facebook got their lumens already for weeks...

Where does it say the first block mined? I didn't see that anywhere... https://www.stellar.org/blog/bitcoin-claim-lumens-2/Read the first alinea under "how does it work?". I assumed everything has been taken care of so moved my funds again. Didn't wait for official statement because I sold some alts for this as the ETH bubblepop caused a crashall over crypto anyway, now I'm rebuying my alts cheaper kanayaTabitha: you'll only receive your lumens at the end of august.

Thanks for the info Otoh. You saw how great crypto is and now you reap the rewards. What happens when a bank closes your account? Your money is locked and you need to jump through hoops to get it released so you can move to another bank?

Anyone have any idea when there are ICO's coming to ETC? I saw an "Ethereum Classic" account on twitter posting something about "they will soon come to ETC" but unsure who is behind that account & if he is just guessing or has more info

Markets can stay irrational longer than they can remain solvent.
ETH might surpass BTC. Until the ICO bubble pops.
Of course then it will be also the question if it will take BTC down with it. An altcoin as big as ETH collapsing might cause a panicsell all over crypto.
So after they both collapsed and the bear market is finished. Which one will emerge again? Time always tells which one is the best. ETH surpassing Bitcoin proves nothing for it is just a temporary snapshot of the crypto story. And I don't think that after the ICO bubble pops, there will be as much "startups" asking for funding through ETH again (its main use now). Who will want to be funded through something that has proven has collapsed before?

After BTC do the soft fork, LTC will be dead.
Can you tell me where did you get that news? Because for me LTC will not become dead even the price of ltc dump I believe they will increase again like before. I hope the price of ltc before the end of this year 0.1 bitcoin . And I hope ltc will become stronger and stronger next few months. LTC will not become dead. They will become more popular to the crypto world. If Bitcoin gets segwit and lightning network, I don't see what use Litecoin still has? People will probably dump it for BTC. I own a little bit of LTC though, so I hope not. Unless someone can tell us what makes LTC not obsolete, what it has that Bitcoin doesn't? (and then it's also the question: will the market agree)

Having bought Litecoin at 10 EUR at the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014, holding during the Huobi/BTCChina (can't remember) pump to 16 EUR and watching it plumet to 3-4 EUR. Stayed there for three years, but I kept holding. Noticed there are always fluctuations between 3,5 and 4 EUR. Decided after three years of bagholding to recover my loss by swingtrading on those fluctuations, so sold at 4 EUR one evening and put a limit buy at 3,5........... which never hit because that evening I sold was the evening before the BIG SEGWIT PUMP TO 35 EUR. That happened to me because I didn't really follow cryptonews a few months ago, was out of the loop and a complete beginner. Learned a lot in just a few months and now I keep up with news and follow other people on Twitter (and realized how little I knew about crypto, a lot has changed since 2013-2014 when I was in the loop).
Plot twist: What makes this story from ultimate bad luck to a huge success story... a little later the Ripple pump started and also the ETC pump. I figured, hey I should just buy a random coin and see what happens. So I put the fiat I got from selling my LTC at a huge loss in... Stellar Lumen! And just one day later it started pumping x20. My profits were massively higher than if I were to stay in LTC and magically called the top to sell.

Yes, the problem was indeed that my coins get moved when the public key changes. Which means I would have to keep register my new public address with the Byteball bot and sign a message, which is a time consuming task. TryNinja's solution was fine.
Just realise that the private key/address you have generated is NOT included in the 12 word seed you got when you created your Mycelium wallet. As such, it is NOT recoverable with the seed words should you lose your phone. Make sure you have secure backups of that private key, write it down offline somewhere safe... if you don't and your phone is lost/stolen/broken... any coins in that address (which I'm going to assume is most/all of your coins on June 9th) will be lost forever. Yes, I generated the PDF file and wrote down the password. Mycelium warned me in big red letters for it, but thank you for warning me as well!

This one was a bit different as it induced a very negative emotion on many people. Of course it could be a coincidence, but people seeing others selloff can trigger their own selloff even if they have nothing to do with XMR. XMR was one of the highest volume coins the day of the 'crash'.
Anyway, ETH is a lot bigger, and a capitulation in that one could drag BTC down with it. Everything is connected in crypto, you just have to put yourself in the shoes of someone new to crypto. They have never seen a bear market, only crazy rises. They are all big in ETH because ETH has been on the fast rise. Then they see that one dumping. They are going to panic sell, and I assume sell their BTC too just to be safe.
Just my thoughts and of course that's only if ETH is panic sold. If the decline is as slow as it is now probably nothing will happen to BTC.

The main monero developer did a troll announcement which caused the price to dip 25% in a mater of minutes, and kept sinking for a few days. After that 25% dip though, one after the other altcoin started going in red, it was like a chain reaction. And then half an hour later Bitcoin started dumping.

If an ETH crash were to happen now, won't it drag BTC down with it? All the new people will be panic selling everything they have, just like a few weeks ago when the monero crash caused everything to crash including bitcoin. And monero is much smaller than ETH.

I don't really believe in some conspiracy that "a few whales" are talking in secret and deciding when to pump or dump. Seems like a way the brain fills gaps where there is a lack of knowledge. Making some explanation like that. While in reality there are so many variables that can lead to price rising or lowering, it may be impossible for a normal person like us to really judge why things are happening.

Yes, I notice they are behaving strange too. It's like we can't decide if we will have another round of pumpseason, or if bear season will start. Or no we start pumping again. No, it's bear season. Or is it?
|
|
|
Why do you think we're rising? Because we seem to have a lot of trouble going up. It's rising a tiny bit by bit but always on lower volume.
