1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 09, 2019, 01:20:31 PM
Where is the xrp usage? There is ripple usage only...

Really?

You read the article?
Xrp hodlers assume everything. Direct quote "If i was a gambling man I would say that he most likely was referring to MoneyTap, because that is what the SBI Ripple Asia consortium is all about. "

https://thexrpdaily.com/2019/09/05/sbi-ceo-we-will-use-the-virtual-currency-xrp-for-remittance/

Yes and No, they will use XRP but like every other of their clients. It will not influence the price, good read to understand how Ripple / XRP works : https://cryptoslate.com/former-ripple-employee-speaks-out-xrp-price-doesnt-reflect-xrapid-use/
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 30, 2019, 06:15:58 AM
Meanwhile most cryptos still up from their lows in 2018, XRP managed to set a new low since 2018, 0.2428.

Congratulations

I think this is the final capitulations. Which means the start of XRP bull run is near. Look at the long position of XRP. down more than 40% since all-time high. Still, the fundamentals are very very strong and diverge with the price.

Fundamentals? xRapid has laughable volumes, even more, volumes that no way to track. But!

For sure you can find dead projecta whom Ripple gifted Billions of XRP and they dump 1M XRP daily, strong fundamentals.

What has xRapid to do with XRP ?!

https://cryptoslate.com/former-ripple-employee-speaks-out-xrp-price-doesnt-reflect-xrapid-use/

“Even if every bank used xRapid the price of XRP wouldn’t necessarily increase. The thing that drives the price of XRP is people’s perception of adoption, which would probably increase the price,” the source said.

XRP is purely speculative with no real usage except the one to fund Ripple operation and the management team sea side villas and private jets...

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Best VPN Providers that are accepting Bitcoin and others Cryptocurrencies on: March 29, 2018, 05:45:25 AM
Hello,

Found this article : https://anonymster.com/best-vpn-accepting-bitcoin

It is interesting to see that many people are actually buying a VPN and still using Paypal or Credit Cards to pay.

Keep in mind when you are doing so even the VPN provider doesn't keep logs your name and payment data will still be recorded by the payment provider (Visa, Mastercard, Paypal) and might even be kept by the provider.

Then what is the point of getting a VPN that doesn't keep log ?

It is very surprising to find out that many majors name in the industry is not accepting Bitcoin or any other kind of crypto. What the reason behind this, do they have something to hide from us?

11  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Bitcoin Difficulty Increase what's going on ? on: January 15, 2018, 11:56:12 AM
Hello,

I just checked the difficulty and it seems to increase a lot lately.

What is the reason behind this?

At this rate and if the price doesn't increase an s9 will not be much profitable by the summer....

I'm struggling whether I should invest in a dozen of S9 but things are not so motivating now compare to sept/oct when i first look into it.

Thanks for your insights.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Stolen Bitcoin over a non encrypted public wifi connection ! on: December 22, 2017, 04:12:31 PM
Recently, Austrian Police reported that cyber thieves transferred Bitcoins worth more than 100, 000 euros($177,000) from a victim’s wallet. As reported by CBS news, the 36-year old unnamed man had connected to a restaurant’s public wireless network southeast of the city of Innsbruck, Austria. The theft happened after he had logged in to check the value of his currency.

However, police were unable to identify whether the victim’s computer had already been hacked before logging in to the unsecured network. The police further said that the bitcoins had been transferred to an “unknown, non-traceable account.”

Something good to keep in mind would be not to trade our BTC over public wifi, without a VPN... seems this can really happend !
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can BTC be blocked by government ? on: November 23, 2017, 06:08:54 AM
Hello,

I am reading a lot on the internet about the fact that Bitcoin is not stoppable as not centralized.

However what would happen if a government decision to implement DPI blocking of Bitcoin protocol?

Seems it is fairly easy for a government to do so at ISP level... On top of it exchange could be blocked with a firewall on top of all others kinds of bitcoin forum etc...

Thanks for your opinion.
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Best Bitcoin VPN Recommendation on: November 23, 2017, 06:05:22 AM
Hello All,

Since i am into Bitcoin and others Crypto i am trying to pay more and more my online purchase with BTC (when possible... acceptance by the online retailer is still pretty low I found out...)

Recently i bought this VPN with Bitcoin https://hidester.com

The checkout process is handled by Bitpay, it is smooth.

The service itself is very good, so I thought I would recommend it.

I am currently using their CamoWeb Protocol to encrypt my web traffic online.

Thought i would mention it to you as they accept BTC.

Here is a screenshot of the interface.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: June 20, 2017, 03:45:10 AM
Hello,

Has anyone a rough idea of how many L3+ are going to be put online in total from now until mid-September?

I am trying to estimate as well their monthly output of L3+...

That would give us a pretty idea of what would be the future difficulty.

Has anyone some numbers in mind?

cheers
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: June 20, 2017, 02:31:48 AM
you can buy now with 41 LTC  Undecided
with diff rising like hell on july, bitmain is gonna pump ltc price

Clearly Bitmain is taking the piss... pre-order 3 months out and they raise the price.

But it could be good news for July batch buyers. Perhaps Bitmain will try to keep difficulty somewhat sane over the next few weeks now that they need to show some possibility of ROI for this September batch. It's starting to look like a very convoluted ponzi scheme where early buyers depend on latecomers to keep the demand up.

so you call it a good time to buy the L3+ ?

Absolutely not. I think it's insane to buy a miner with a delivery 3 months out... many bad things can happen in that time.

what would be those bad things ?

price go back to 25 ?

difficulty increase x2 ?

Based on my calculation even those happened this miner is still very profitable... i'd like to understand what do you factor in those "bad thing" ?

This is sad.  The bad thing is that you think it's normal to get 1000%+ yearly returns or that it would stay that way for any extended period of time.  Best of luck.

Hello, thanks for your answer. But yes this is the point even i factor very bad things in the mix like triple difficulty and lower price the roi is still in 3.5 months... So wondering why your assumption is it's such a risky investment.

Hello,

I am thinking to buy 20 L3+ in the current batch.

How would you calculate the potential gain with delivery in September?

I have difficulties estimating what would be the difficulty at this time...

My electricity rate is 0.07 usd per kh/w.

I base all my estimation on a price of 45 usd per litecoin but with 20 miners and a price of 100 usd per ltc i get 360,00 USD per year...

What is your thoughts on this ?

Ps : i live in china

I am biased (see my previous posts) look at previous posts on this thread for both sides of the argument if getting bitmain miners now is a good idea or not with difficulty rises etc

Only thing my view and the other view can agree on ..it probably will become obvious in July if there will be a difficulty pump or not

all I can say...also at 7c kwh that is not bad...also don't buy any asic machines you are not prepared to lose $$$ on in comparison to just getting and holding LTC or BTC
ie the usual miner concerns.

but review the thread...make up your own mind ...and remember in my case...I got a mess of bitmains in April and May...thus my perspective is on getting MORE or ANY
at this time...it skews my view...just to be fair when you read the arguments on if to get equip or if not to and hold coin or wait..in this thread

tough choice.....no clear answer....anyway review the thread comments on this is my recommendation

Thanks for your answer. Any idea when the next batch is available ?

thx
