You could argue that if you believe in God, it exists.

Rootstock is supposed to be backwards compatible with ethereum so ethereum projects could switch to RSK without major problems. At least that's what's promised.

But at what point of development is Rootstock? They seem to be stuck for a long time now.

One thing I learned from cryptos is that development always takes longer than promised. Apparently there's sth called Hofstadter's law.

Not everyone believe in technology the way we do. I always get asked about cryptos when prices are up.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are scam ICOs going to draw the attention of governments? on: June 27, 2017, 12:11:27 AM
Americans are technically not allowed to contribute. Plus USA is not the only country on the planet. I guess there will be some pushback at some point. I don't see what governments could do.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will this cause France to get into Bitcoin - 75% Tax on Rich on: December 31, 2013, 07:43:00 AM
While it may be easy to criticize the French Gov for their tactics here, I do think the intention is noble.  We all know that some salaries are HUGE.  Personally, I think it's admirable that they are trying to limit that, and not allow anyone to earn an absolutely insane amount of money for being CEO.

Yes, free market, we should all be able to make limitless amounts of fiat, blah blah blah.  It's not sustainable.  Will be interesting to see how this play out.

I agree they have good intentions.

Hitler had good intentions too (wikipedia Godwin's law) Cry

nobody cares about the intentions, it's the result that matters. That's where a lot of people who don't understand economy get it wrong - they shout these "tax the rich" slogans without knowing how this in the long run this affects them. They have good intentions, but with their stupidity they ruin everything.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slovenia: No Capital Gains Tax on Bitcoin on: December 29, 2013, 11:45:18 PM
oh I thought so Grin

I don't see how they could enforce that anyway.

Easy. You have no job but a big house and a car?

haha I know a lot of people like that in Slovenia. To me that's awesome. But Slovenians are jealous (stereotype that's somewhat true) and they want regulation to make sure nobody can make money unless he's a government slave.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much in % of your savings are in BTC? on: December 29, 2013, 06:49:17 PM
bitcoin is speculative right now, put whatever you can afford to lose.

but then again, the same could be said for fiat Undecided
