Just create a file C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinGoldAsic\bitcoingoldasic.conf with the given nodes:

addnode=37.97.242.80:24577
addnode=148.251.87.57
addnode=27.254.87.161

Then (re)start wallet.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: January 11, 2018, 01:29:59 PM
Cryptopia's Dime wallet has 0 connections at the moment, see: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=DIME

The block explorer says there are hundreds of nodes available, see: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dime/#!network

I asked Cryptiopia to fix it.

Cryptopia has closed DOGE/LTC markets due to the heavy load. They are planning on reopening an LTC market shortly, see: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: January 03, 2018, 11:31:31 AM
@adamantasaurus, let me just repeat what I said when Verge was still 67 sats: 1000 sats is a perfect price for Verge at this moment in time. Everyone seems to forget that it did a X15 in three weeks which is incredible.
Obviously, its been overhyped (pushing the price to almost 2000), it created a lot of bagholders (sorry, but buying after a X15, you took a great risk) and we've seen a lot of FUD (people wanting to buy cheap).

But all of this does not change the big picture at all.

In contrast to many other coins, Verge is actually being developed on, by people actually focusing on the tech, quality, privacy, usability instead of just pumping the price.
The main developer is on Twitter, Discord, he replies in Github repo's and he even sent me a direct message recently. I wonder if he ever sleeps.
Wraith was delivered as promised (who cares about a few hours, they're volunteers, they found a bug and fixed it, well done).
Sure, bugs will be found (I always doubted the radio & chat for an anonymous currency) but they were fixed (chat, radio removed) and I'm sure other bugs will be fixed in the future.

This coin rightfully moved to a higher league the past month. Just let it settle down a bit and grow from here.
With the whole altcoin market growing, crypto privacy getting a bigger issue every day and XVG being actively worked on, we will see a new All Time High soon.

That day, literally no one will be at a $XVG loss. Except for the ones who sold too early.

awesome thanks for the unbiased reply I really appreciate it I'm going to get my gf and a friend to invest in it as well I threw $1500 at it and I'm doing pretty good but I invested earlier. Do you think now is a good time for my gf and my friend to invest or should I tell them to wait for another drop in price?

@adamantasaurus
First of all, you should not be getting anyone into buying any coin. Anyone owning some value has to decide whether they want to store that value in dollars, silver, crypto or anything else.
Second, I will not and cannot tell you (or them, actually) if 'now is a good time' because that's a personal thing. Trading in general means buying low, selling high. $XVG just went up from 0,005 to 0,14 (+2700%), so one could say it is 'high' and sell. But it also went down from 0,24 to 0,14 (-41%) in a few days so one could also say its 'low' and buy.

Remember: At any time and on any market, there's a buyer for every seller. Both are thinking to make a profitable move. And both may, or may not be right.

This is what's happening right now to $XVG: It's being sold by people who think the current price is 'high', to new people who think the current price is 'low'. And that's exactly the paradigm switch we need to allow $XVG to grow to a new All Time Highs and beyond.

Personally, I'm long term. I bought $XVG when it was longterm-low and will sell towards a long-term high. I don't care about these minor movements at all.

So I keep reading so much good stuff and so much bad stuff about verge with cypto it is really hard to figure out what is the truth because almost everyone has an ulterior motive what does someone HONESTLY think about verge is it a good coin to hold or is it a shitcoin? Are these people talking shit about verge just talking to talk bullshit?? What is the real story here???

About the future price:

Given the Verge coin count of 14.3 billion:

- at 0.00001000 BTC (1000 satoshi) , XVG would currently have a market cap of 2.3 billion $, which would make it the #16 cryptocurrency.
- at 1$, XVG would have a market cap of 14.3 billion $, which would currently make it the #6 cryptocurrency, just after LTC.
- at $1000... well, that would be nonsense.

Personally, I think Verge is a great cryptocurrency that would definitely deserve a #16 ranking (so: 1000 satoshis or about x15 from where we are today).

Once people realize that an open ledger (the blockchain) means 'no privacy', they will start looking for privacy-oriented coins like Verge. And it does a great job at that.
Behind the scenes a lot of development is going on, making it an even better coin in the future.

Don't believe the FUD (fear, uncertainty & doubt) and always DYOR (do your own research).

Hi guys. Im new to this and planning on buying and Hold for a while.
I have a quick question: Whats the difference between Core and Electrum Wallets??

@Yulian07 I believe the for the core wallet, you'll need to download the blockchain. The Electrum wallet connects to servers that have the blockchain so you don't have to download it. Personally I like prefer to run 'core' wallets but i have to admit I never used the Electrum wallet.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 1337 [MANDATORY UPDATE] 20.89% APR| POS ONLY on: October 10, 2017, 05:09:15 PM
OK Guys,need your help please.Have held 1337 for a while now for staking.Recently noted that there appears no live connections to the wallet .And sent some coins to an exchange 3 days ago...well I thought I had...but they have not arrived.Is there a problem with either 1337,the wallet or both? I use a MacbookAir.Thanks in anticipation

This coin's blockchain definitely forked. Last valid block I have is of sept 25, b93277a18cb569bc86ce2abf9b7236613c7d47f018e6c21b542581f16877f6d2.

After that, my wallet started staking like crazy (100,000 coins already) but none of the transactions appear in the block explorer, which means that I (and others with me) have been on the wrong blockchain.
This also explains why others were unable to send money to exchanges.

I will now remove my blockchain files, use a snapshot instead and get a new nodelist.

I guess no one will be pay back the 100,000 coins I staked?

Maybe I'll go back to using dollars instead.
Just kidding.

is there a guide to masternodes? i tried to make one but it wont connect.
I put one in this thread, here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2141880.msg22377991#msg22377991.

If you happen to have a txid error when starting the masternode, use masternode start-alias {name} instead. Otherwise feel free ask questions in Slack, we'll get it running.

Please keep your COLX Wallets running and unlocked for staking and add staking=1 to your ColossusCoinXT.conf file
Code:
Open wallet configuration file
Add: staking=1
Close wallet and open again
...

I believe staking=1 actually is the default value, so you don't need to add that. At least my wallet is staking without it. You would only need to use that if you don't want to stake for some reason (then you would need to add staking=0).

Also, I think its important to realize that coin maturity doesn't come with time, but with blocks, or 'confirmations'
So coins don't need to be one week old, but rather 5040 blocks. Basically, the slow moving blockchain has also slowed down the maturing of coins itself. The good news is that with each new block, more and more coins are reaching maturity right now and they will become available for staking.

At least this is what I think, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't want loose my money.

Good news: finamathmatics' wallet was succesfully recovered.

Indeed, all of his wallets, including the backups, were corrupted. I don't know what caused that, but I have no reason to believe that there is any problem with the wallet software itself.

Exporting the private key was not possible btw. And also --salvagewallet didn't do the trick this time. But those were good tips, thank you.

I'll reveal things later in Slack. But first, because he did share his wallet, finamathmatics needs to move his funds to a new wallet and be 100% safe again.

Blockchain is still slow by the way. Will improve with time.

Yes, I don't delete any file/folder, but the backups of this folder doesn't work too. What can I do?

If the wallets from your \backups directory don't work, something else is going on because it's hardly possible that all of those files are corrupt.

Basically I would take the most recent backup wallet from the `backups` dir, rename that to `wallet.dat` and start the wallet with only that wallet.dat and ColossusCoinXT.conf in the config directory. I can't think of any reason why that wouldn't work.

b.t.w. I also answered in Slack, so lets continue there.

All wallets are the same. We're all on 10124.
We'll need some intervention from the dev. He's working on it.

People holding CV2 are still part of our community. It's the same coin, just an older implementation of it, and that's not their fault.
People should not be forced to check up on their coins every 3 months to prevent those coins from being destroyed. They paid real money for their CV2, and at 4 sats, that's still about 1.2 million dollars we're talking about.

The way we deal with CV2 will be an example for how we deal with COLX in the future. Destroying CV2 will also destroy trust in COLX, and dealing with CV2 it in a decent matter will also make COLX a trustworthy and valuable coin.

I don't want you to open your COLX wallet two years from now, expecting lots and lots of value, only to find out that your coins were replaced by some new "COLX2" coin and your value distributed amongst other people. I'm sure you would be pretty upset and angry if that happend. So let's not do that now either.

I hear you but it is a two way street.

Holders have at least half of the burden of keeping up to speed with their portfolios. This includes planning for situations where they may not be able to take action themselves.

The risks that come with having a huge pile of COLX sitting around waiting for a small inactive component of the community to get their acts together is significant.

The crypto community will not trust COLX until the leftovers from the swap are proven burnt, we've already seen FUD from this starting earlier in the thread.

If by the 'small inactive component of the community' you mean the people that haven't swapped yet... so far that turns out the be a big majority, not a minority.
But yes, there are good arguments to both sides of the story, so maybe this will be a good subject to vote on in the end and burn coins accordingly.

Deflating the COLX economy is NOT stealing funds from the community, its quite the opposite!

...

COLX:
  • Circulating supply after swap  =  3,600,000,000
  • Masternode requirement = 10,000,000
  • Maximum potential masternodes = 360
  • Current masternode count = 20 (approx.)

If 40% of COLX gets locked up in masternodes the same as PIVX we're looking at only 145 masternodes which would give COLX a weak centralised network compared to PIVX.

However, if the masternode requirement was changed to 750,000 we'd have a scenario much closer to PIVX's current state

...
Obviously we're months away from the end of the swap but discussion on fundamental change like this should start sooner rather than later.

Thank you for that.

Burning that many coins would be nice for COLX price development but personally I think we shouldn't be stealing funds from our own community at all. OR we should vote about it (and only burn a percentage accordingly).

Indeed, masternode prices would be way off after a burn. The current max of about 1000 masternodes is on the low side already. Definitely something that should be looked into, thanks again.

2017-10-02 12:44 - CV2/COLX info
https://novaexchange.com/news/
CV2 ColossusCoin2 markets are closing on 15. October, 2017. Delisting due to a full coin swap to a new ColossusCoin XT Blockchain, please swap your ColossusCoin2 CV2 to the new ColossusCoinXT COLX BlockChain

I thinks its good to emphasize that both deposits and withdrawals and the CV2->COLX coin swap will be available till December, 28. At least, that's the idea.
It's just the CV2 markets closing because its declining price would keep the COLX price down too long.

Last block is still 10124, so wallets are still out of sync. Manual intervention might be needed to get the blockchain running. Devs are working on it behind the scenes, so please be patient.

hi my wallet is stuck at 10124 i tried resetting the wallet but no luck

Not your fault. The COLX blockchain is temporarily very slow in this startup phase because it needs staking coins that are at least 7 days old. Because it recently moved from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), no such coins are available on the network yet.

Because of this, we are seeing unsynchronized wallets, no masternode payments and no transactions to/from exchanges coming through.

About a week ago, the first Proof of Work payments were made. Those coins will soon be mature enough for staking, so new blocks should be generated soon(ish).

This situation may take about a week (max), then things should gradually improve.

Stuck on 10122 here for hours aswell.

MN setup under Windows is also a mess.
"Masternode outputs" Returns empty and the TX id from the list isnt working for me too.
I can start that shit but it switches back to missing after some time.

Back to the board devs.

If masternode outputs returns an empty collection, the transaction was probably not exactly 10M or simply not confirmed yet (probably due to the lack of new blocks?);

If you masternode registration expires after a while, the masternode is not running/pinging the system. When you start it (the button didn't work, so masternode start-alias {name}), check the masternode debug.log, it should say something like 'Enabled!, you can now close the cold wallet'. After some time, you will see it pinging the system.

Does anyone have the exact  Wallet files  I need to get from Github to run a Masternode on VPS?
Thanks.  I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 x64.  Should be good once MN's are active Cheesy

The opening post of this thread also contains Linux wallets.
You can also compile the wallet using the instructions in /doc. Quite some work though, because of the dependencies.

Why the hell are people selling COLX for 3 or 4 sats? I mean, do they want to lose money? CV2 is selling for 4 sats aswel. Sometimes, I don't understand how the world works

Not everyone knows about the CV2->COLX coin swap. And to be honest, NovaExchange doesn't show anything about it on the CV2 trading page or the wallet page either.

So people only see the CV2 price go down, they give up and sell their CV2 for 2 sats and we will even see 1 sat sells soon.

For the 3 months to come, this will make it effectively possible to buy COLX for only 2 to 4 sats (buy 2 CV2s @ 1 or 2 sats, swap them for 1 COLX), keeping the COLX price low: we may see 3sat sells and 2sat buys for COLX for quite some time.

Personally, I think that:
- At least, NovaExchange should inform people about the ongoing swap on the CV2 trading page and the wallet page;
- All CV2 markets should close after e.g. 2 weeks as they clearly hinder COLX price development;
- After closing, all remaining CV2 coins should be swapped automatically to COLX at the 2:1 ratio. There is no reason to assume that people would want their coins to be destroyed rather than swapped automatically.
- I even feel that anyone who can prove ownership on any CV2 balance (e.g. by signing a message) should be able to swap them to COLX indefinitely.

Simply put: if you put money in a vault, a crypto wallet, a paper wallet or an exchange, its reasonable to expect that the money will still be there after three months (quite a short period actually).

We don't have the right to randomly take coins away from people, even if they apparently don't pay attention to their coins. People should not need to pay attention to their coins anyway. They might have stored paper wallets in their vault, saving them for later. Should they really be forced to login to exchanges or other sites regularly to prevent their savings from being burned? This will reduce the trust in CV2/COLX and cryptocurrencies in general.

Burning unswapped coins, effectively transferring their value to our swapped coins, is nothing less than stealing.

You might laugh today because other people's losses are your profits. But you'll cry tomorrow when its your savings being burned while you looked away.

The coin is still in POW (Proof of Work) phase, no staking yet. It will go to POS (Proof of Stake) phase in 2.5 days. After block 10.080.
