1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: May 09, 2017, 03:34:23 PM
Hi guys, probably n00b question (i´m not linux admin):

I would like to set-up remote access to my rig using SSH+OpenVPN. But what if i restrict access to rig only from OpenVPN connected computers? Will the SMOS dashboard work with no problems? Or will I have to allow access for some SMOS servers?

Hi tytanick, just short info:

My problem looks like HW problem (motherboard), so instability is not caused by powerstage settings.

Thank you for your time.

Btw. if you need some help with UI/dashboard coding, i can give you some time;)

Hi guys, please can you explain:

1. How Overclocking > Powerstage settings works?
2. What's the default value?
2. Is there possibility to disable this function (if i understand, i can modify voltage control directly in bios)?

My system is unstable even with default settings a i can't figure out where is the problem (i suspect it may be Powerstage settings).

I use Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 gpu's.

Thank you.
There are two overclocking scripts in RX OS. You can try using old one where Powerstage isnt touched.

Old RX OS script:
Try writing in core: 6
memory: 0
Powerstage: 7 (it will be ignored anyways)

If the first script was stable try those values:

New RX OS script:
core: 1000
memory: 1800
powerstage 6 or 7

Anyway i think that my OC script isnt causing your issue but let me know if this will fix your problem !
There are sooooo many possible problems in crypto mining that i can count Smiley

Most common unstability problems:
-Bad riser
-too much OC
-too much undervolting
-wrong timings
-motherboard bios settings problems / firmware problem
-motherboard hardware problem
-PSU problem
-bad eletricity
-bad weather
-bad air
-bad pidgeon shitting on roof or your car
-accually everything.

I had so many problems, that are unlogical !
Even unplugging everything and plugging back on can solve problem Cheesy or not.

Hi !

First thank you for the SMOS ! I'll plan to mine for you some days to donate Smiley

I tried to connect via ssh root@IPMINER but the password didn't work (miner1234)

is there another password ?

thank you

right password is: miner1324 (no miner1234!)

Thank you for the reply, i'll test it and give you feedback.

Btw. i tested mining with default settings (no mod bios/oc/undervolting/timing), PSU is Quality, MB has updated BIOS, i tried to change risers... Maybe it can be HW problem, motherboard is older ASUS P8H61-MX LX R0.2 or some riser is still shitty.

I understand there are many variants in the game;)

Hi guys,

i'm trying to underclock GPU core to lowering electricity consumption. Unfortunately with lower values hashrate drops dramaticaly or system freeze during startup (when miner starts). Lowering values from 1340 to 1250 drops hashrate (sometimes it freeze) and lowering from 1340 to 1200 or less freeze system every time.

I've read a some topics and many miners running core around 1150Mhz with no problems... but... @Windows

+ second problem: my system is not stable - restart occurs about 3 times a day. GPU's have modded bios + overclock, but i tried default settings and there is no change.

Do you have similar experience?

2x GPU (+ 2 GPU's will be added this week): SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 570
BIOS: Modified memory timing from 1750 to 2000
Overclock: core 1340 (default) + memory 2050 (default 1750)
