1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - 1st Stable fork of Ethereum on: January 12, 2018, 06:37:36 PM
What is happening with TokenLab?
There was supposed to be LAB integration with Gander and launching LAB on exchanges in November.
TokenLab was supposed to be open with like 10 ICO's simultaneously in December.
January was supposed to be Public Release.
Also what is the status of listing on exchanges?
I feel that it was very unfair for the Expanse team to promise investors a HitBTC listing before actually signing a contract with them and confirming it with the exchange.
Can you guys offer a refund option?
You have all of our crypto held right now and making more money from the gains that occurred after the TokenLab ICO while we are holding LAB that cannot be used anywhere and have no value until an exchange listing which seems like it will never come to a liquid exchange.
This is every investor's nightmare.

Although I would also like an update, I think your message is clearly asking for a way to quickly sell your tokens because you're already impatient. It is normal for things to take time. When the coin hits an exchange I will be happy to pick up your extra coins at half price. Wink

The problem with ICO's is they ask for money up front and then under deliver.
TokenLab is basically a money grabbing experiment with no possible exit for LAB investors because there is no demand for anything running on the TokenLab platform.
That is why TokenLab will never get on any exchange with decent liquidity. Maybe small shady exchanges. Expanse is only on big exchanges because it was there since the beginning.
At least on Ethereum platform, there are decentralized exchanges like RadarRelay and EtherDelta where even the worst ICO's can get listed and be traded.
TokenLab is a problem because no one uses Expanse for anything in the real world besides mining for profit.
TokenLab is pretty much doomed at this point because no major exchange wants to list a tiny unknown coin without paying a high price.
I know for sure Expanse team, despite raising almost $1,500,000 plus appreciated value since ICO, will never spend anything large enough to get on an exchange.

It is not major exchanges fault for not listing TokenLab, There is no demand for TokenLab so no exchange wants to go through the hassle of listing and maintaining a tiny coin without a large sum of money for their efforts.
The costs of listing TokenLab on anything reputable is beyond what the Expanse team will pay. TokenLab holders are looking at it from a perspective that LAB is valuable and getting angry that no one is listing it.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: TaaS — Tokenized Closed-End Fund on: August 21, 2017, 05:43:30 AM
Why hold onto TaaS now that Dividends have been paid? Since there is nothing more really to come from TaaS until the next quarter, you might as well sell and buy back during the quarter right?
More than likely, ETH is coming out with Metropolis and new news so the price of ETH would rise faster than TaaS so you might as well sell now and buy back after ETH has pumped.

Just a thought.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: TaaS — Tokenized Closed-End Fund on: June 23, 2017, 11:19:53 PM
I think a rough estimate is $0.6 per share of TaaS will be received (Today's value if dividend received). That doesn't include other altcoins so the actual number will be higher.

Math the profit yourself for July's dividend. Assuming they keep making money, TaaS holders will receive almost a dollar or more hopefully for every token owned  Shocked

https://ca.taas.fund/wallets/dashboard

Someone tell me if my logic is wrong as the dividends are paid in ETH according to USD value. The total balance on that page doesn't include all the extra purchased coins right?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 30, 2017, 03:41:53 AM
Positive Coindesk article about Monero could also mean that they dumped ZEC at the peak a week ago, now they bought XMR on dip, rinse and repeat with any coin they think its hot atm ...

Could also mean they didn't. Do you trade with a coin?

CA is estimated to be deployed in the next 2-3 weeks after ICO. Stay tuned for updates Smiley

Today is May 11.
Still no "updates".
Can we get some sort of update what is going on? It is really quiet from you guys.
For raising $8,000,000 from us and taking a $1,200,000 cut for "Operations", the investors deserve some updates.

Can you guys do a weekly update on your blog or something? The last update was 2 weeks ago....

You guys basically said "We are doing an audit" right after the ICO ending and left us, the people who GAVE you money for "Operations", in the dark ever since (For 2 weeks now).
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero and first rig - newbie questions on: May 11, 2017, 09:43:41 PM
People have (and still) are placing CPU miners on tons of computers in the background of unsuspecting victims and a lot of hash power is going to mining Monero. With the increased hashrate, profits for GPU miners are very small.
Also, the Monero GUI wallet allows mining so now there is all these extra people mining with CPU's. This really puts GPU miners off from mining Monero.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Few questions about setting up a rig (Buying cards, placement of rig, etc) on: May 11, 2017, 09:35:00 PM
Alright. But I need just 6 for now. Looking for ones in stock at amazon. What are differences between 470 and 570? is 570 better? So I can decide clearer. I heard theres problem running 6 570s? is this true?

570 has a slightly better updated chip but overall the same.
In terms of mining, the 470 will be better because the 570 is plagued with driver issues right now.

I got a 6x 570 mining rig going but it took me forever (Countless hours) to get it working. Not worth the headache unless you know what you are doing.

Go with 470's if you can, or take a stab at 570's if you want a challenge at the cost of possibly losing a lot of mining time trying to figure it out.

There is no special miner buying stores (To the public) for GPU's. You just have to make due with whats available at the time and source it from different PC stores and websites.
Everything is pretty jacked up in price right now though. Unless you really want to deal with the challenge, I would just buy coins.

Calculating the costs/time/headaches/generated heat/downtime/constant monitoring of all my rigs and what they have generated versus just buying and holding coins, the latter would have been the better choice.

Mining down time costs a lot of money through lost profits.

EDIT: Also, the PROVANTAGE cards mentioned a few posts up are blower style (Single fan). The disadvantage of these cards are that they have a single fan so they are noisy and also don't push around as much fan as dual fan GPU's.
I have 2 480's that pump out a lot of heat and I will NEVER buy reference cards again. Maybe if you can get an optimal setup where there is an air conditioned room for intake and the exhaust hangs outside, but noise is also an issue.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modding 570/580 bios on: May 11, 2017, 09:27:30 PM
Try copying 1750 timings to 2000. Safer bet, especially if samsung memory.

Why does everyone say that you can go with lower straps on other chips, but Samsung needs to be 1750+?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 11, 2017, 09:25:44 PM
Guys, Can someone suggest me which card I should get for the 570s(All Rx570 and all 4Gb): Sapphire Pulse ITX 4Gb, Asus ROG Strix OC 4gb, Gigabyte gaming 4Gb, MSI Gaming X 4Gb, Sapphire pulse 4Gb, Gigabyte AORUS 4Gb, Sapphire Nitro+ 4Gb     < ----- They're listed from Cheapest to the most expensive near me Smiley

Thanks,

Just get whatever is the cheapest with 2+ fans. Vega is to be released soon and the prices will probably go down a bit anyways. All the cards above all hash around the same after mods.

I'm also interested to see how this hods up in hotter weather.  What part of the country are you in?

Located in Florida

Maybe switch out the dark colored tarp to a white tarp to reduce the sun's radiant heat.

Ahhhh I totally didn't think about that. The other side of the tarp is gray  Tongue

I do have those reflective emergency blankets that are really thin and reflective but I don't want to have to deal with management complaining about a bright and shiny ball of foil reflecting light.
If things go south, I will try to change it.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Rig Porn] 365 Outdoor Rig on: May 10, 2017, 03:17:14 AM
Will update one I get it installed tomorrow and when the temperature gets hotter.
It is shaded for the most part but I think 1/4 of the day will be direct sunlight.

Until I end up ordering the 2 larger fans, it will be running with an 80mm and 120mm fan.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Rig Porn] 365 Outdoor Rig on: May 09, 2017, 08:38:18 PM
The opening will be facing the apartment and the shell will protect the dust and rain.

There will be two big PC fans installed in the hood to pull the heat out while (in theory) should be sucking colder air from below.

Windows 10 works out-of-the-box with 6x GPU everytime for me with 400-series cards

You might be thinking the 500-series. I definitely had a lot of trouble with it, but finally got 6x 570's working.

EXPANSE NEWSLETTER Vo. 2, No.9 – 5/1/2017 Expanse Live, EBS Update and China (CNY) News

"Smart contracts cost 1/50th as much to run as Ethereum, making Expanse practical to use as a dApp platform. The design is highly efficient with less than .05% uncles per 1000 blocks compared to over 8% with Ethereum."

Since you are comparing Expanse to Ethereum, does this mean that your goal is to compete with Ethereum in the smart contract field or is this an "apples to oranges" analogy?

One concern many traders and investors have in cryptocurrency is the concept of infinite tokens issued over time, while this is not real unless a crypto lasts for infinity, this is still a very real way that people think about total supply of tokens and coins. Christopher Franko and James Clayton, the original founders, propose that we limit the total supply of Expanse and put a cap on it in 80 years. This will not change inflation or impact utility in the slightest bit, this is not about halving block rewards, simply capping them 80 years from now. The only thing this would change is the monetary policy and create more scarcity for Expanse.

About 350m EXP total Expanse to exist at block 42,000,000.

As Ethereum plans to cap itself around the 100M range and is being used much more, is it possible to bring that number way down? From an investing standpoint, scarecity IS important as mentioned and since Expanse will not be used on the scale of Ethereum, the number should be much lower to provide incentive for holders to keep the value of Expanse high. Assuming the marketcap does reach $100M (Over 10x as of today), with 100M EXP in circulation, the value would be the same as it is today... $1.

The value of EXP will not affect EXP users as payment gateways would instantly convert fiat to EXP.
You just said: $100M (Over 10x as of today), with 100M EXP in circulation, the value would be the same as it is today... $1.

ohhh.... This dont make sense at all. Supply is very low now and not getting bigger. I would say the value would be about 5$ or even more, wich is more realistic if Marketcap will be 10x today's...
Just weit, EXP marketing just started and will be on very large scale when investors start pouring in. This WILL be same if not better than ETH.
You will remember my words, beleave me Smiley
Oh.. and in 2 months value of EXP has grown 5x and marketcap 5x aswell Smiley

Try reading and thinking about what I posted before you try to correct me. I know how offended "investors" on Bitcointalk get when anything besides moon gets said in whatever coin they are investing.
My post wasn't an attempt to bring the value of Expanse down if that is what you are worried about since you apparently have to say useless garbage like "You will remember my words, beleave me Smiley"
No, I won't believe you with your horrible English spelling and literally saying nothing of value.

Now... to the technicals...

You just said: ohhh.... This dont make sense at all. Supply is very low now and not getting bigger. I would say the value would be about 5$ or even more, wich is more realistic if Marketcap will be 10x today's...

As I quoted above from the official blog post, "About 350m EXP total Expanse to exist at block 42,000,000".
I believe this is a large inflation rate for Expanse and should be lowered in the interest of investors to below 100M total EXP. Due to the reputation and outreach of Ethereum, realistically speaking, Expanse has a very small chance of trying to be "better" than them as they can adapt at a faster rate.

What I want to ask is, what is the purpose of Expanse? What is Expanse trying to solve or do?
As asked before, is Expanse trying to overtake Ethereum or is Expanse going a different route by trying to solve something different?

Thanks in advance.

Are you guys actually installing through the AMD installer?

I tried manually adding them in Device Manager, but it wouldn't find them. I installed the AMD drivers (Video+Audio) and it recognizes 6 but it crashes after bootup.

16.9.2 -> 17.4.3

it took a little time from the output of the 500 series, I would like to know what is better to take the 500 cards from the standpoint of maximum production at optimum investing

Not sure what "maximum production at optimum investing" means, but if you are asking whats the best card to mine with in a fancy way, the cards are too new and not enough information right now.
Ask in a month when everyone has had time to test the card for stability. People are still testing.
