3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is being killed by governments and nobody seems to care! on: May 26, 2013, 06:44:01 AM
Look at the actions of elected officials.

They create a separate retirement system for themselves.
They exempt themselves from our socialized medical system.
    They have armed guards.

The power is always in the peoples hands?

Yes. Because you have equal ability to participate in the government, and should you choose not to run yourself, you have the power to vote the politicians who support those things in and out of office.

How can anyone say we have the ability to vote anyone out when a candidate can get 112% of the votes in a precint and no one goes to jail. Or when these politicians we suposidly elected fight every attempt to have everyone prove they are who they say they are, before voting.

    Newbie: just learned how to serch for memebers or would have posted earlier;
Recieved coins from Nightowlace few days ago: can attest they are pristine,

my first bitcoins: He not only sold me the coins at a good price as I wanted severel since being new to btc. They were packaged well and shipped immediately registered mail.

He is trustworthy  I had no worries about paying first because he took his time to help explain to me how to set up my wallet and how to fund my mt gox acct. when it got approved.

I was having a terrible time even getting  account authorized at mtgox or knowing how to fund it.
It is very reasuring to a newbie like me to know someone I can trust and who was willing to help me get started with things that many just take for granted eveyone already knows, especially after reading so much on here about scammers, thievs and hackers.

I highly recommend Nightowlace, I dont know about whether you can find a better price by .01 or something but you wont find a better source. The price he quotes covers everything to your door and the coins will be exactly as he tells you!

Thank you again; Nightowlace, for your invaluable help and advice, and I promise to pay it foreward.

7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: blockchain.info wallet impossible to login????? Very worried right now on: May 08, 2013, 11:24:42 PM
I had this same problem a week ago when I tried to login kept getting message that had to go to e-mail to authinticate, when i went to the e-mail it said someone had tried to log in from a different url, but it was my url, it gave me a link to click to go back and login, but when i did that it never would give me a box to enter my password, just got an error message. finaly last week support sent the same message again and i got in.

Same thing happend this weekend kept getting same error message even when using the whole identifier not just alias, it still never would give me the password box and a grey message appeared at the top right saying it was changing my identifier but it never stopped turning.

this time when support finally sent me the e-mail saying they had reset it I clicked on the link to log in and still no passwrd box.

Getting frantic, had them text me the message on my phone, when  I went to it there and entered my identifier it gave me the password box I got in and immediately transfered all my btc out to my qt wallet using my cellphone.

Stll cannot get in on my computer no password box ever appears.l

Never believed they were going to take my btc. but what good is a wallet you cannot access when you want to.

For the second time in two weeks when I try to sign into my wallet they wont accept my identifier, it says see e-mail. when I go thre it says some other ip address tried to sign into my wallet but it is my ip address. I then click the link and when I try to sign again at the top right it says changing identifier and a hazard waste circle starts turning and never stops. I have tried draging the back up jason file into the box, no response.
I sent a request to the support and it was cancled saying problem had been resolved but nothing is different.
what have i done wrong and what can i do to get my coins out of this black hole never to return again?Huh?
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Bitcoin Course is Ready on: April 27, 2013, 07:29:02 AM
I Just sent you the following as an e-mail: Posting a copy here for benefit of the forum: Thank you very much! I highly recommend it to anyone that is just starting to try and learn about bitcoin, it will save months of looking for this info own your own, unless you personally know someone who is a Sr. Member.
                                                              *****************
I have just finished your course and wanted to let you know I thought it was very informative, not being any sort of progamer I learned a very great deal and now feel that I understand enough about bitcoin to be much more comfortable investing in it.

I also wanted to learn how to create a paper wallet, and prevously had no idea how to encrypt a file of any sort. So just to down load the file encrytpion program you showed was well worth all the time if I had learned nothing else.

I feel the course was well worth the mere $9.00 you had origionally priced it at, and in seeing how much time and research you put into it, and how much value I recieved from it I will gladly pay the $9.00 if you will send me some type of invoice.

I wish to pay by credit card or pay pal, instead of bitcoin if possible, Frankly I am just having too much troubel acquiing bitcoins to part with any as of yet.

Thank You and if you will e-mail me that invoice I will be happy to pay.
13  Economy / Lending / Re: [EDU] How to spot a scammer (Read this before lending your coins!) on: April 22, 2013, 04:33:53 AM
Tomatocage : or anyone How does a new member start to establish a good reputation.  I don't want loan's but would like to buy Bitcoin or casascius. When offered, I don't expect anyone to send anything blindly but also do not know what to offer as credibility. Also please direct me to any thread that explains escrow and how it works. This sounds like a good option but how do I know how to learn how it works or what does it. When I search for escrow i get no basic info.
Thanks for this post any advice would be appreciated.

I will view the course, I certainly do not know all I wish too about btc ,
I wish to offer support to you and anyone else helping to get out the real concept of btc. I get angry everytime I see a blip on CNBC or other news, it seems like they all have a vested interstate in portraying btc as negatively as possible. Cudos to anyone spreading more truth about btc to the public at large.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin terrorism FUD: discussion, sans politics. on: April 20, 2013, 10:17:18 PM
What can we do, as individuals to promote btc? Or at least present the positive possibilities,
Wouldn't it be so grreat if when people save for retirement, that the money they put aside 20 years ago actually could buy more goods and services later instead of half as much or even less.
Without them having to risk it in stocks or other risk assets, just try to prevent inflation eating it up.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jerusalem Post: Bitcoin is for terrorism on: April 20, 2013, 08:51:49 PM
I dont think wheteher you feel for or against Israel is the point. I bet Israel and Iran would unite in an article critical of Bitcoin. The point is most every article and evey mention on tv about bitcoin seems to present only the most negative of its possibilities. Should we all establish second identities and start at least e-mailing those orginaztions back with the positive side of the story.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people getting greedy again so soon?? on: April 19, 2013, 04:23:19 AM
Hell yes there is new moneYcomming into the bitcoin mkt. I read and watched btc for two years, until the spike I really didnt take it seriously, now I have been waiting 8 days to get verifieD  mtgox and am still 8756 back in the que.
All the things everyone is talking about, you should be rejocing about if seing btc evolve into what, I thought you wanted it to become, a true altenative currency that does not inflate every ear to a lower value.
Anyone who looks at the dffrerence in the high price and where it is now is not seeing what I see, what I look at is the price it was in january 2012 compared to wher it is now.
I am a financial advisor full time, and if this were a stock with the exact same chart and I still saw the number of new buyers begging to get in (as I am) I would mortguage my house to buy more of that stock.

to smooth out the volatility just keep some of your money in fiat and some in bitcoin for now. Remember if one is down the other is up. dont spend your btc when it is down use fiat then.

BE HAPPY!  BITCOIN HAS GONE MAINSTREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
