it will work fine the only reason theres powered raisers out there is for cards that dont have a psu connection (motherboard powered) anything with a cable that goes to the PSU should work perfectly fine

Do you have any suggestions for good risers? Most I see are sketchy and have bad reviews.

Since GPUs are pretty much perfect for LTC mining. FPGAs and ASICs would be insanely expensive compared to just getting an array of GPUs to mine. In technical terms, scrypt is heavily reliant on FAST and I mean FAST memory which you cannot get cheaply in FPGAs and ASICs unlike specialized processors. I think even CPUs would be more cost-effective than FPGA/ASIC but whatever  Grin
