terrahash never *promised* any date
they said upfront it'd be 2 weeks the chips came in, and placed the best estimate they had as a rough guess on when they'd come
I have 900$ on the line myself

Even if they gave away a bitcent, it'd be cool

Is this project completely dead?

That's really good to know.
I reworded it so I'm selling the account that has control, and not the asic itself.
If you buy the account, you will get the asic when it's ready, but the product I am selling is the account.

Hugpuggle, that's adorable Do you have a website of any kind? I think I am going to use Eclipse: https://eclipsemc.com/As for wallet, likely Coinbase (but hold on possible price increases in BTC) but maybe just blockchain.info What draws you to eclipse? Has anyone tried eligius? They seem to have a really interesting payout scheme How are their stales?

I'm excited!
What mining pools are you guys going to be using?
What wallets?
I'm thinking about skipping the wallet, and going straight to coinbase insta-sell.

Can you get ahold of avalon somehow? You did order crazy amounts of stuff through them

I'm sure doing all the above will work fine,,,maybe not hiding it at work tho...lol
Don't some people have apartments with electricity included in the rent? Places like that are begging to be mining stations

If I did mine with it myself instead of hosting, a few things come to mind. What do you guys plan on using for a case? I have 1 64 chip board. I might just build something. What do you plan on using for cooling? I might use a small house fan. 9 inch should do it. I have an old netbook (n280, 2 gigs of ram, ocz ssd) Is a netbook appropriate for the job? I'd let the screen sleep, but never the netbook itself. It's only wireless G, though I do have a wireless N network, with a 50 megabit down, 10 megabit up connection. I wonder if I could hide it at work somewhere

I setup a coinbase account, which dumps into an empty online savings account with 0.85% interest for this.
Does anyone know the terms of the terrahash hosted mining?
I'd love to know.
I might just call and have them change it to ship, run it off my old netbook I don't use anymore. (Probably could put it in the basement, yay wifi)

I canceled my paypal dispute. I'm now commited for this purchase.
I would take a look at your order page on TH's site. Once u open a dispute it automatically goes to refunded on thier system..... I called him on the phone and he said he'll change it.

I first discovered the terrahash page the day ordering opened up. I did not see it before that date.
They offered refunds at that point. If they changed their terms after, it's a bait and switch.

Legally you have to offer refunds on any product until it ships even if it is made to order. There are no exceptions, even if it's inconvenient.
You can't rationally claim that these parts were ordered using funds from paypal, because your paypal account was locked at the time, and you ordered some of the parts beforehand. That invalidates that logic completely.
Terrahash, your policy is violating the FTC rules.
Also, even if you were not violating FTC guidelines, I took snapshots of that page 20 minutes AFTER I ORDERED which were the same as what the image showed that you are disputing. I was protecting my ass incase this came up.
You just lied to us.
No irony in my question - why don't you do something legally then? Sue him, I am serious... EDIT: If people here think they are scammed they should hire together a lawyer - threats and complaints won't do the trick. I just filed a complaint with the federal trade commission for violation of the returns rules from http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

I asked for a refund. It was ignored. I asked for a refund again. It was ignored.
I made a paypal claim asking for a refund. I was *denied*.
I upgraded it to a dispute. The terrahash site says I have it refunded, but I don't see the money in my paypal account, even as pending.
Well, this is not good. If they say, they will refund you, if you cancel before they ship, they will. Their "ignorance" (speaking in your language), as you see, just makes you more freightened, so you panikct and worse thinkgs up. Dispute as you have read allready, lasts longer to solve, but if they refund case by case, I suggest next time, to be extremelly patient. When I say I was ignored, I mean I created a ticket, had no response, waited 3 days, created another ticket, still had no response. The Paypal claim is where paypal asks terrahash directly, for you. Paypal dispute is a chargeback.
