Yeah I was told from a friend to use Ubuntu 14 but if there's a more recommended one for mining I'd be open to suggestions.

Ubuntu 14/16 are the LTS (long term support) variants you should be fine with either but id recommend 16

In all seriousness there's something a lot more important to discuss and that is the entire point of smart contracts being trustless entities on the blockchain.

This should never have happened as a well written, audited, trusted, contract would have rejected NEO during block 25 and then rejected again when the NEO limit was made.

The fact that the contract was closed source (afaik, show me the source please?) and only announced minutes before the ICO took place suggests this was run in a very typical 'chinese' fashion.

This ICO would never have taken place if the smart contract was released to the community to audit. Regardless of whether you got tokens or not, RPX subverted the trust of NEO, the community and ICO smart contracts by rushing their contract out.

They have let NEO down massively.

all the maths ive done suggests buying one of these for LTC will never make positive ROI, what gives? why are you getting excited, what have i missed?

Using https://www.aurumxchange.com/ you can (apparently, havent tested it yet) transfer USD from Bitstamp to MtGox at a fee of 1% but you cant seem to transfer money out of Mt Gox and in to Bitstamp Sad

It's rather bothersome how powerful mtgox is in affecting the Bitcoin economy—it shuts down its servers during the crashes so it could secure its own bitcoins and make profit speculating, and it's too big of a target for DDoSing. Hopefully with the price going back down to a realistic place where the exchange rate is closer to the real value, not the nominal one, we can see a more diverse choice of markets. MtGox is clunky and outdated, and hopefully after this Bitcoin is going to be more stable in price and less prone to media-hyped price crashes.

Haha, you know Mt Gox was down recently because it was DDOSed right?
