1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: December 18, 2020, 09:14:03 AM
Hi guys,

Haven't been here for a while since the prices dropped and electricity costs were high in my country I've stopped the rigs. I always relied on the advices from citronick and philipma1957 which helped me a lot on my mining  Smiley
I still have 1 rig of 1080Ti, 1 rig of 1060 and 1 rig of RX570.

Any idea or suggestion on what I should start them? Or only the 1080Ti is the profitable one here?
I was using in the past Simplemining and it was working very well for my rigs.

Thank you for your time and answers Smiley Cheers!

point them to nicehash mine eth on all three and see what nicehash says they pay you.

I am pretty sure they profit at 25cents a kwatt

not so sure what they do at 35cents a kwatt

a 1080ti set to lower power like I do does 160mh at 700 watts

160 x 0.04 = 6.40 usd a day. .7 x 24 = 17 kwatts I round up. .17 x 30 = 5.10 usd in power

6.40-5.10 = 1.30 usd a day profit.  money = money so why not mine.  Or consider selling the 1080ti's. you will get top dollar for them.

Thank you for your answer. In my country it's 17,5cents a kwatt, but back in 2018 it was 10 cents Smiley
So based on your recommendations I should point (at least 1080ti rig) towards nicehash and see a few days what's the revenue. What miner to use for nvidia mining to eth? Ethminer, right? And for ATI what is the best option now since Claymore dropped his support?

I'm thinking of selling the 1060 rig...

As long as alts don't properly take off we'll remain in low-profitability-land.

I'm finding it quite strange however that on the days where alts do pump, profitability hardly goes up. It's like hashpower comes out out of nowhere and immediately increases diff. There's probably so many automated mining bots out there that any little opportunity is squashed as it appears. We need a widespread alt bullmarket for this massive global hashpower to be absorbed.

Makes me think we might see all time highs again, but not in terms of daily mining profitability. Way too much hash out there.

asics  sit and wait for a lot of alts to pump.  So a flick of the switch and they turn on.

Think of zec  how much hash do they have  z miners  are like 50 cards.
I'm not even talking about asic algos... But look at CN/r and variants, x16, C29, Beam... All that stuff is at the same profitability level as a week ago. It's like nothing even happened! Cheesy

Raven did not pump in value much
Grin did not pump in value much.

Last I looked raven was not at 7 cents
And grin was under 2 dollars.

Are you waiting RVN to reach 1 dollar to sell?

I have a lot of RVN

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-interest/
BCI is   8.6 cents
I would sell ½ of it at 86 cents

And thinking that a few months back we mined it at over 1.2$...
I remember the day when I was doing 11-14 coins per day with a 1080ti rig and now I see 36 coins/day Smiley
I'm also holding BCI.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 11, 2019, 06:59:18 PM
Yea, saw that myself too.
I've powered up a 1080ti rig about a month ago, mining x16r and now mining eth on nicehash and since last month, although bitcoin is going up a lot, I get the same revenue per day.. but I will hold for the moment and focus on btc/eth.

I've mined last year a lot of BCI when it was over 1$ and now after more than 6 months of holding it is 0.09$ Smiley))
I will keep holding a lot of coins, maybe they will go up someday.. but right now I'm focusing on nicehash (btc) and eth.
What's your strategy for these days?

Only starting it from time to time.
It doesn't connect to peers. I've tried to add some nodes you listed above and none of them appeared on Peers list.
I've tried -reindex and now it's stuck at reindexing. I think I will delete and start again.
I will keep waiting today and give you a feedback later.

Same problem here, no response.

I'm still mining and holding / staking BCI.. although the price dropped a lot in the last two months, I hope will be a good bet.

I will have a look at ZP and CLO Smiley

I almost did all of that, but I couldn't load that amd.txt after reloading the miner.
After watching the tutorial you provided, I will give it another try. Also I might change the intensity to 896 or higher, I remember I was doing this to claymore-xmr for higher hashrate..
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: October 29, 2018, 07:44:46 AM
Interesting this prohashing pool. So, I can mine ethereum there with my AMD rigs and be paid in whatever coin I want... sweet.
In your previous experience, regarding the hashrate, coin you mined fees etc, what was the best coin to exchange into? I mean a well-known coin, like btc, ltc, eth, etc, btg, zec etc.

You know they will add cryptonite? What would it be? V7 or V8? If it will be V7 will be nice for me, because I can still use Claymore-XMR which is still compatible with V7..
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: October 28, 2018, 09:24:38 PM
I would do that, but I'm with smOS...

Not a very good time for AMD rigs over smOS right now...

I mean I tried to edit the config.txt on Xmr-Stak with higher intensity with no luck.. I think that is the issue with my low hashrate compared with claymore-xmr hashrate.

@citronick, you're still mining V7 on monero ocean? How's it going?
MoneroV8 is no go for my RX series because of the hashrate drop and higher consumption...so right now I'm doing eth on ethermine, but I'm thinking of switching to monero.

MoneroV8 ended up not a good option for me - see my last post - the devs had overdone things for miners - less hash, more power.... reminds me of ETH mess. So even monero.ocean is out for me, due to power constraints.

All this was a blessing in disguise, I continued mining XHV (Haven) since below a dollar, and cashed out about 1100 coins when it touched $2.40s recently.

Decent pool at "haven.miner.rocks"

Thank you for reply.

Looks like xmr-stak or xmrig does not get me the same hashrate that I have with claymore xmr. Claymore gives me 4950 per rig and xmrig gets me 3800-3900 with the same overclocking settings on SMOS.
It's odd..
For now I'm sticking with ethermine, not a big earn but hoping the price will go up in a few months..

Today happened the Monero fork?

If you could update with some info I will be grateful. Right now my AMD rigs are offline and I want to know if will be profitable and start them and where to mine.

I see citronick said something about monero ocean which mines the most profitable coin and be paid in xmr, sounds good.

Also I'm interested in a simplemining miner, until this summer I was using Claymore for mining V7... but now I see you guys are using xmr-stak.

Yes yes, good news for my ATI rig Smiley

Something good is happening with Ravencoin.. I'm selling some coins today.. the price went up for good when all others are going down..

Phil, where you're gonna trade your BCI?

I'm asking this because they are struggling to be listed on Bitfinex (they are listed, but wallets closed) ... and Bitfinex has that shitty 10k usd limit. I don't know about you, but I don't have that amount in crypto so I can trade on bitfinex ... so it seems we have our hands tied a bit with this coin.. thinking that wallets are not opened on any exchange...

I'm staking right now, but thinking about selling it after a while so I can pay up the electricity...

One core wallet can give you lots of addresses
That's what I wanted to say.. got it a little bit wrong Smiley)
But I'm not really sure how this is going to work.
I started mining into another address which I will keep it for weekly staking. After one month of staking the primary address, I will put into stake at 1st of November all I have from both addresses. And I will create a new one.

This is how you're planing to do also?

Well.. this is weird...
Not saying he is the one who created the coin or something.. but selling some accounts right on the announcement thread? Smiley

As I understand from their FAQ, if I will stake 100 coins 1st of October and I want to add more to the stake (because I mined more), I will have to wait until 1st of November to make changes...
I don't think it's much to be earned from this stake interest thing ...
Or.. to make another wallet and put the coins earned from mining during the month to weekly stakes..
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: September 29, 2018, 11:24:53 AM
That is about 1.35 coins per month, which obvious is lower than monthly stake.
Yes, it seems very low.. but I'm waiting for wallets to open on Binance so I can sell them.. I want BTC Smiley)

I'm curious about the difference between their calculator and what you get.
They say you get 1.55 coins for 100 coins staked..
