oh also, if 25% of digibytegaming.com's ad revenue goes to new mining rigs, then another 25% could go to subsidizing tournaments.  the rest would cover the cost of the site, but with sponsoring tournaments you could contribute to certain games maintaining a vibrant community for years longer than otherwise.  this would put the video game corporations involved themselves in debt to digibyte.  if digibyte gained enough leverage they could ask blizzard and riot games to accept digibyte for their games.

the potential for this is very very large so i believe they will turn digibytegaming.com back on so as to take advantage of this.

How's it going to be financed? Who's going to pay for the payouts?

If you ask me, it's on permanent pause.

why don't you let it go.. why are you even here? I've read thru the last 5 or so pages in the thread and all you do is FUD. Sounds like you're bitter for some unknown reason. There's countless other coins you could bash. how bout travelling to the bytecoin thread and bash the non existent devs over there. at least this dev is present. Just leave. and before you even try to reply to me with your concerns, just realize, I do not care and will probably not even read your response.

i don't think it's a permanent pause but id like to know this as well.  in fact i really like this development and think it can go far.

i had my own novel idea that idk is actually any good.  it'd be something like where they say 25% off ad revenue gained from digibyte gaming goes into mining equipment that is devoted to handing over what it makes, after electricity, to the pay outs on digibyte gaming.  if they were to have commercials on digibyte gaming whenever we clicked "claim pay out," this could work really really well.  The best players would be able to use this to subsidize whatever short comings a youtube channel or twitch stream would have for them in the beginning.  it could pave the way though for many more to give youtube and twitch a chance.  if it resulted in thousands of more professional players, youtube creators, independent entreprenuers, then that'd be great.  the thing is id like to share this idea with digibyte, but it'd be premature not knowing how their own plans, or maybe not as i think it's so good that it'd be stupid not to do.

no news yet, price is dropping & volume also..

news as in? ...

the domain is currently being changed over ...

the setup for the seednodes is underway - and the change in code is already done ... though we dont have the windows / osx wallets available yet for the hardcoded seednodes to be recognized ...

the influx system was left in a state of disrepair - and we are trying to get the majority of it all back up and running ... though we dont have the code and scripts for the original pool - we do have a current influxcoin pool running in the cwi-pools system ...

main - http://pool.chainworksindustries.com/ ...
infx - http://pool.chainworksindustries.com/infx/ ...

please test this pool and send feedback ... we NEED to get it solid and stable ...

price will always fluctuate - and it will go up and down as the interest increases or dwindles ... but there is work being done in the background to rectify a lot of the issues that cory suffered when other people pulled out of the project and moved on to other projects ... especially with mining and code ...

we WILL get this back on track - but can only do this at the pace that allows us to solidify the backend AND start on the development once again ...

patience ... we are doing what NEEDS to be done - before what we WANT done ...

this coin will NOT be rebuilt on sand - along with the other coins and projects we have under our wing .... it will have a solid foundation to work from - and cwi is that foundation ...

new servers are currently in testing - and if all is well - will be the new platform ALL the cwi-projects will work from ... once that concrete slab is solid and set - we will build the framework - then continue to build the 'house' that is the cwi-ecosystem ... step by step ...

ideas? ... recommendations? ... feedback? ... please post ...

Thank you for the update. It's good to know that things are getting done right rather than fast. Please, keep us informed with everything that you think is necessary for us to know Smiley  A working slack group would also be nice!

all good - tanx ...

i think cory had a slack group setup - so ill ask him ...

if not - we can set one up - but i have massive issues getting access to slack via web ...

im trying to resolve this - as there was an app that was used under fedora ( which is my ( and our ) desktop units ) a while back that worked very well ...it was called scudcloud - but development was abandoned from what i could tell ... it worked almost flawlessly with slack ...

otherwise in the mean time - we can setup a skype group as there are no major issues with skype under linux ... microsoft only release an early version of skype for linux - but it works ... would that be a resolve? ... even temporarily? ...

don't waste your time with a skype group.  just wait until you can get a slack room going.  the format is really good for crypto.

I can not withdraw or trade my coins stuck in the reserved part of the wallet page.  This happened after it said an order failed to cancel.  At first i thought they completely dissappeared and then found them under the reserved label on the wallet page.  I sent support an email but im hoping someone could help me out quicker on here.

influx coin moved 20% easily with my several hundred bucks.   as soon as we get some real updates, a website, a slack invitation, an upgraded wallet etc, this will go up several times easily.   I plan on putting a couple thousand more in it real soon.  we are already on a large trading exchange after all.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: April 30, 2017, 07:01:30 AM
This is such a bubble! Although it has peaked my interest I will buy when the panic sets in. Too few hold too much at the moment and as the price increase, so does the odds of 1 person selling it to the floor. Where is the best place to buy?

Roll Eyes the market cap is 143,xxx,xxx you blink and it will be .30 don't hold your breath on it popping

My question is, how will GNT work in 5 years when no new GNT are made... we need some kind of inflation or something, don't we?

this is like people saying gold could not be money again because there's not enough per person.  it's a matter of price.  the price only has to go up for you to not need as many ounces or in this case coins of golem to be able to pull off more and more transactions.  i wrote about this above in fact.  this is why the market cap of golem, if people choose to use it for buying computing power, will have to go up into the billions.  whatever the size of the markets is it takes over it has to be many multiples of that.  for instance if the market for computing wind directions is globally a $1 bil (let's just pretend as idk what it is) and golem absorbs a quarter of that market by moving around $250 mil per year then the market cap of golem has to be many times that $250 million dollar amount to ensure that there are enough coins to move around.  at a fixed coin supply there is no other option.  of course that is not the only market golem can take a bite out of.  i estimate that within a few decades golem could take on dozens of markets if not hundreds and be moving around billions per year in which case the market cap of golem would need to be at least tens of billions, maybe hundreds of billions.

this is not to say golem is guaranteed to be the currency used here.  if the devs do not discover a way to ensure that from the moment someone buys golems to the moment they pay for their computing power the price stays the same for the project then if someone buys golem only to see the price go down before they pay for their project the whole thing could collapse.  i have not seen a serious enough look into this.  on the golem blog the devs mentioning a sort of coffee backed standard which is to me a joke.

anything youd like me to clarify?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: April 29, 2017, 07:25:05 PM
i used to think that the market cap for this would not likely grow into the billions. however since there are only so many coins that we will ever see (and we've hit that number) then we have to realize that in order for payments to be made possible in this currency that is exactly what has to happen. how many coins currently would you need to be able to pay for a 100k $s worth of computing power? Over 500k coins out of a billion at the current price as I post this. They may not be able to buy that many very quickly at times where as tens of trillions of dollars exist. Of course as they bought hundreds of thousands of coins the price would go up, but you get the idea of what I am saying.
One thing that could happen in the beginning of this is that as people bought many coins to use for the golem program they would grow distracted from their projects and become traders, at least temporarily. This is why I am worried that someone will copy this idea but accept cash. Is there a reason this will not happen? They would be able to start more quickly and here is why.
If one golem coin we valued at $10 then you would still need a 1000 coins to pay for a million dollars worth of computing power, but what if in between your buying the coins and your looking to pay for your project the price drops? This is inevitable is it not? How many times must someone complain about this before some of its users complain about it and scare everyone off? Am I crazy to think all of this or is everyone else really really stupid.
Some will say the price could go up but what if they wanted to something done now and the price went down ten percent a minute later?
So on the one hand as my title implied this coin could gain a great deal of value, but I worry that these problems could prevent the whole thing from gaining traction after a certain point.
I do however have a solution.
If someone can guarantee that their computing power would be priced in golem as opposed to dollars then this would bypass all of this. For instance, I don't say I am willing to sell computing power for $5 worth of golem. I say I am willing to sell computing power for 5 golem.
Has anyone figured this out yet? Please tell me it is so.
A lot of bitcoin fans believe that because you can buy something in bitcoin that the products are priced in bitcoin, but the retailers that take it turn it into dollars as quickly as possible. They only take dollars worth of bitcoin.
Golem devs can not fall into this trap or someone will steal their technology and simply accept dollars for it. If it gets investment then it will bypass this attempt at it and Golem will be totally forgotten. I am willing to follow the hype for now but someone tell me the devs understand this, which is the single most important issue, for golem?
