1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BANE - Looking for UUUU (People who want to be part of the project) on: January 09, 2018, 03:09:37 PM
Hello there!

We’re looking to put together a team for the BANE-Coin (possibly also called UUUU). This is a *big* project relative to many other ones and I’m currently looking for partners who want to be part of the development of BANE. We’re still in the very early stages but I’m sure you know, ‘the fire rises!’ Wink
As of right now we're putting together both the core development team and the meme-team.

You can reach me on here for more information about how to get involved.
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Proof of Stake Bitcoin? on: August 04, 2017, 12:59:05 PM
PoS is problematic on many levels and is extremely hard to deploy. Research on the topic is also scarce.

Miners have been shown to be problematic towards the long term health of bitcoin.

A more interesting point is how the bitcoin community lost the thought/research leadership in this area which is a real harm and probably more dangerous in the long term than most people think.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin for Local Business - Genevieve Gx Coin. Pre-sale ACTIVE, ends 12a 7/8 on: July 07, 2017, 07:09:17 PM
Lol why do you need a coin for this...
"With Gx Coin, the community shares resources, knowledge and ideas, and provides realtime feedback to participating businesses. This decentralization empowers businesses to be more active and aware, facilitating contributions directly to the local economy and empowering anyone to own part of these small businesses. "- lots of words yet so little substance, total bullshit they are able to do this without a coin.

Great list to always remind yourself that no matter how safe we seem to be in, no matter how safe the dollars in your hands might seem, you're ultimately putting trust into a bunch of greedy people that makes all the decisions.

It's funny because, before centralized banking came about, there were no financial crises. Only when someone is controlling the monetary supply do hyperinflation, deflation, recessions happen. When people were using gold, all was good; but as soon as the currency was debased by adding bronze etc. into the coins, the financial system was ready to collapse.

And who else noticed we haven't got a major crisis in the US for almost a decade now? I wouldn't be surprised at all if by the end of the decade, something extreme just suddenly happens due to the debt bubble.

This isn't accurate at all, there were plenty of smaller financial crises before central banking, you can take a look at a few of them on the on the federal Reserve bank of San Francisco. They dive into what happened in the panic of 1907 and how a federal system could have handled that better, I mean you can probably make the case that they're bias but the research being done and published by them is sound.

I think that since the crisis related to a more globalized and centralized system are larger it's easier to become more aware of them. I mean there are plenty of smaller crisis in smaller counties (which in many ways simulate what it would look like if you had a less centralized system) which go largely unnoticed.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Selling Bitcoin = Opportunity loss?! on: June 30, 2017, 05:19:02 PM
It's definitely problematic that the price increase in bitcoin places an opportunity cost on spending it. Meaning that less goods will be bought since they are bought at the opportunity cost of holding btc. Less spending = less economic activity.

Coming to terms with this economic reality is at the core of btc.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Everex and Ethereum Bring Financial Inclusion To All on: June 11, 2017, 09:34:26 PM
Could you elaborate on your competitive advantage compared to for example antfinancial or wechat, those two services have provided mobile first banking to an otherwise totally unbanked population.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bond coin? on: June 07, 2017, 01:14:18 AM
Links?

If I had to guess it would seem like you're one of the people behind it?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beth ICO ( Beth.jp ) Another Scam in cryptoland on: June 06, 2017, 10:04:45 PM
Why do people always try to shoehorn CNNs deeplearning and ML into everything. The use cases for new coins have to make sense not be a mess of buzzwords, if I see a string of buzzwords as a description, i think scam. Which in this case seems to ring true.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes Launches New Website – Aims to Bridge the Gap Between the Centralized... on: May 15, 2017, 12:40:59 AM
In response to your question Makeone, DNotes has been working to strategically position itself to be able to work as a bridge between the centralized and decentralized world. This means adopting the philosophies of the decentralized world of cryptocurrency while paying careful consideration to the regulatory requirements of the centralized world, as to not step into any 'legal grey areas', which could burn important bridges.

Jesus man, I don't care what your mantra is, nor does it matter that you have spent time doing PR (which at such an early stage is not really what your focus should be on...). All you've told me other than your little buzzword "bridge between..." is that you help corporations looking into crypto with legal work? Let's try to cut through the fuzz here, what is it you guys do?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes Launches New Website – Aims to Bridge the Gap Between the Centralized... on: May 13, 2017, 09:22:31 PM
So what exactly do they do? Corporate services to central banks or? Because as I see it it would be impossible to really make any crypto accessible to the masses without the backing of the big guys.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and Deflation of Price and Money Supply on: May 12, 2017, 12:26:06 AM
Hi,

There seems like there has been a bit of confusion regarding bitcoin's deflationary nature and the problems that brings, I don't think remaining in denial is going to help us develop something really great here. I did however see some posts explaining that problem in depth to the naysayers quite well and TE (the economist) has a great article about the topic.

So as opposed to reiterating the same points brought up by others I'd like to discuss the topic of the negative externalities facing a deflationary currency. To be fair I don't expect there to be the driving issues facing BTC and crypto in general for quite some time, these are issues that currencies face.

  • Discourages spending and investment

The fact that there is an expected return in deflationary currencies means that the return on investments and spending are always evaluated proportionally relative to the return it could have been generating passively. The implications of that are obviously huge and without solving that issue we will never really have a replacement for any of the currencies around.
