Hello everybody, how is it going?

I own AORUS rx 580 8 gb, hynix, H5GC8H24MJ (H5GC8H24MJR in srbpolaris), using 777000000000000022AA1C00B56A6D46C0551017BE8E060C006AE6000C081420EA8900AB0300000 01B162C31C0313F17 timing strap in 2000 and 2250 mhz.

I've set 2090/1225 and I get 29 mh/s with 0 errors. If I set higher memory clock I get some errors.

I would like to get 30 mh/s can anyone help me, maybe suggesting a better timing strap or if not possible, with a tutorial on how to make a custom timing or any other advices that allow me to get a better hashrate, please?

Has anyone managed to reach a better hashrate with 0 errors with this card?

Thanks
Happy mining

Hi everyone,

I have problems to undervolt memory and core voltages.

Usually I mine with claymore at 0.85v (stable) with the commands -mvddc -cvddc and all is good, but I want to try nicehash.

So, I own rx 580 8gb;

I cannot undervolt with msi afterburner, memory voltage is locked for amd cards I read...I can only set core voltage but it's not enough to get me to 0.85v that I can reach with claymore.
I cannot undervolt with nicehash, it says failed to modify voltage.
I read editing voltages with polaris bios editor has no effect, I also tried to set 850 and it does not work.

How can I reach 0.85v or undervolting memory (and also core) in general, please?
Is the only option left to edit bios with hex editor? Am I missing something?

Thanks
Happy mining
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / setting voltage on nicehash? on: November 11, 2017, 07:33:29 AM
Hi guys, I need a quick advice, please

Im trying to mine with nicehash but I'm new to it.
I want to mine cryptonight so nicehash software makes me run sgminer gm.

How can I set core clock, memory clock and most importantly the voltages??

I've always mined eth with claymore(standalone) and there in the bat file I can set all I want.
I did not use afterburner because I usually mine at 0.85v and afterburner did not let me go so low.

Can I do the same with nicehash that runs sgminer, is there a bat file or a way to set up the values that I want?

Thanks
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best extender riser? on: October 26, 2017, 09:17:06 PM
Hi

I want to move one of my gpus out of my case but I am not sure...please can you tell me this:

1)Which pci express extender riser is the best? I have seen different ones ... ver 006 ver 007 ver 008 also different power connection... molex, sata and 6 pin.

2) Is it safer to directly connect my psu to the extender or am I alright using the little cable (for conversion) that comes with the extender riser?

3) Does it work with all the motherboards?

Thanks
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Improve mining performance? on: October 09, 2017, 09:40:14 AM
Hi experts of mining,

I have just started to attempt to mine ETH.
I am wondering if you can give me some advices on how to improve my performance please.

My specs are:
CPU: amd ryzen 5
GPU: 2 x  MSI RX 580 8GB
RAM: 16gb ddr 4

this is in a normal pc case with side panel inserted and case closed, so this is not a mining rig with 5 or more gpu.

I am using ethminer and these are some screenshots:

http://images.imagebam.com/f5/5c/cb/6cbb90622347253.jpg

as you can see my mh/s is very bad.
I know one rx580 8gb should mine at 30.2 mh/s (at least) so I should have 60.4 mh/s but I only have 40 mh/s.
1) Can you help me to get to 60 mh/s please? Right now I am using latest drivers from amd website.

These are my temps, with gpu-z and openhardware:

http://images.imagebam.com/28/45/8a/cbaabc622347203.jpg

I have read that "safe" temps for gpu are around 90°C (for gaming I think, I dont know about mining), mine are 80°C and 72°C
2) Are these temperatures good?
3) Is there a way to reduce power draw?

Thanks ^^  Smiley and if you have more things to suggest please say them, I really want to get better at doing this as I am a noob.

Regards

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Which rx 580? on: September 27, 2017, 05:41:26 AM
Hi,

Im gonna buy some rx 580s, but I noticed there are many factors to consider...

I have the choise between

SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 580 NITRO+ Special Edition 8GB OC (the blue coloured)

MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8GB

SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 580 NITRO+ 8GB

i will be mining etherium. which one of these is the best card?

I know that with sapphire cards it is better to have SAMSUNG memory rather than hynix, is this correct?
How do I know if it has samsung or hynix before I buy it? There is nothing on the manufacturer website /datasheet.

Also, can you please tell me if there is a big difference in power consumption (watts) between the cards? And what's the best card speaking about temperatures?

thank you ^^

ASIC's are a one trick pony. They are easy to setup and GREAT for mining a lot of coins quickly for the algorithm they were designed for, but otherwise are useless for anything else and the resale value is terrible. Since they have a high upfront cost, you may want to sell the coins you mine so you can make back your initial investment before the difficulty skyrockets and they become obsolete by a newer, better model. If you get in early enough, you should be OK.

GPU rigs on the other hand are much more versatile by being able to mine many coins but also require more work and maintenance. The smaller up front cost, versatility and great resale value also lowers the amount of risk you are taking and the pressure to sell your earnings to make ROI.
ok guys thanks

what i typed is based on things i read on here, google, whattomine and other sites which compare profit between cryptocurrencies. I dont know a lot but I think I should go for the best profit currency taking into account the cost of power + hardware.

I have a question...if you go to whattomine and coinwarz.com and compare bitcoin cash there is a huge difference! Is one of the sites wrong??
On coinwarz bitcoin cash profit per month is $4.07 while on whattomine is $11.69 have you noticed? On which site should I rely?

Thanks

Hi guys, how is it going?

Can you please give me an advice;

I want to start mining and I am thinking to mine alt coins instead of bitcoin.
I built my pc recently and the goal was to play games with it but now I have decided I prefer to make money with it.
CPU is amd ryzen 5 1600x, MOBO is gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 and for RAM I've got 16GB ddr 4 3200 mhz.

So, the choise is between adding 2 gpu (rx 580 8gb) to my pc or buying an ASIC to mine bitcoin etc...What do you guys think? Electricity is €0.06/KWh, I can spend big money but I dont want to waste it.

My idea is to "complete" my pc with the 2 rx 580 and mine Ethash algoritm (etherium etc...) cuz i get 30.2 mh/s with 1 gpu, so total of 60.4 .
I own a 550W psu. I should make $65/month as profit, but I feel i can earn more.
Each rx 580 will cost €320, so €640 total.
Plus i can sell the alt coins on kraken and earn some money from there too.

I really wanted to earn about $120/month but what do you say? Is it better to "complete" my pc and use its potential at 100% or invest in ASIC?
I am familiar with bitcoin as I already have a wallet and traded on kraken etc...

Thanks

13  Local / Italiano (Italian) / modi affidabili e consigliati per vendere bitcoin on: May 02, 2017, 08:50:28 PM
ciao a tutti ragazzi, come va?

grazie a tutti
