2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Running Bitcoin Core on External Hard Drive on: March 08, 2019, 11:18:20 AM
Hey guys,

Let me start by saying I'm not so technical and I might not be using all of the proper terminology, but I hope you guys can help. I want to run of full node to claim my financial sovereignty!

Onto the issue...

So, I finally bought a 2TB external hard drive to use with my MacOS. I saved Bitcoin Core to external drive it and started downloading the block chain. My speed here is quite bad, so it took around 2 days to get to 33%. Then yesterday, I accidentally unplugged the hard drive without shutting down Bitcoin Core and it started the process all over and now I'm only at 7%. Sad However, It appears that all of that data is still saved on my external drive.

Is there a way that I can continue the process from where I was previously? How can I prevent this from happening in the future? I would also like to be able to connect this external drive to my other macbook and run Bitcoin Core as well. How do I do this? When I connect it and try running bitcoin-qt on my other computer it says "Error: Cannot parse configuration file: specified data directory.... Users/LLLLLLL/LIbrary/Application Support/Bitcoin/'' does not exist..."

I did some research on my own and it seems I need to do something with the Datadir, and point it at my external hard drive so that bitcoin-qt always runs from there is my understanding? I found the Datadir in debug window on bitcoin-qt. It says /Volumes/Seagate Backup Plus Drive/bitcoin-0.17.1/Bitcoin Core

I'm unsure what to do. Hope someone can help me figure this out!!!

I received a payout of .29 BTC in "profit" today without providing any KYC information, so not sure what all this talk was about... Only recommendation is that they update the information on their site for withdraw processing time (as it's never 12 hours) and if this KYC with Civic stuff comes to fruition, they need to have it on their site, so you can see it before you decide whether to deposit or not.

Otherwise, they seem like a fine place to bet. Love the reduced juice. Same that pinny offers.

Yup, using the sportsbook and their site says nothing about any of this. .7 is basically nothing, so not sure why this would be an issue.

I asked them this is in an email:

What are your fiat limits a user can withdraw? I've never heard of anything like this. And it's not like .7 BTC is some absurd amount.

Thanks.

And got this response:

We are working with the license provider for exacts; no need to speculate at this point. Worst-case scenario, we offer one-time KYC verification with Civic; our trusted KYC provider.

Thanks,

I received the payout from them just now and received this email:

We apologize for the delay. We received some conflicting information from our compliance department on your matter. Full disclosure, our license limits the amount anonymous users can withdrawal (in fiat terms) in a given month. However, looking closer into the terms and you matter, you are not actually withdrawing profit (yet), instead - you are just withdrawing your original deposit. We do apologize for both the confusion on our side, and the time it took to get this settled.

You should see your withdrawal in about 10 minutes.

Thanks for playing on BitcoinRush.io and don't hesitate to let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

I've been waiting on my payout of around .70 BTC for around 5 days now. On their site, it says every payout will be processed in 12 hours. I emailed them, they said they would send my message to the correct department. I have since emailed them again and I'm getting silence on their end. They haven't responded to any messages. I'm freaking out. Can anyone help me. Thanks.
