GPU mining will be available at launch.

Many of us, I'm sure, share the hope that you will develop your current GUIminer to facilitate the mining of NTC, Netcoin.

9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCIe Power Risers with Capacitors? Are they better then without Caps? on: June 05, 2013, 02:21:01 AM
Leads for the capacitor are exposed, not good ... a hair floating in the air, or some other thing could bridge it and schwammy! Most run open boxes, so that the cap leads are exposed is not good. It might be effective for OC power spikes for the card attached, but generally, I just think having a Capacitor with exposed leads for generally open box systems is not good. Lots of open boxers are learning that spiders, and baby spiders, etc ... love the warmth of open boxes as they attract insects as well. One invisible thread of spider web, and zappage. I like the concept, but not the implementation.

I would also like to be considered for Alpha or Beta testing and would participate in discussion, provide screenshot feedback and perhaps make a screencast-o-matic or two as I have a subscription and I am familiar with making desktop tutorial in SOM.

3. Moving Average Convergence-Divergence

This, if only for litecoin, would be a huge leap forward in trading tools. Much like bitcoin.clarkmoody.

I visualize a slider GUI tool for those who like to place their trades by hand with a frequency of trades perhaps 1 every 1-5 days, not a daytrader.

To have some granularity, at any level, for filtering the orderbook would be, for all Crypto trading a giant leap forward. To create algorithms for automated trading based upon orderbook filtering might be a noble goal, but to gain feedback from the use of a broader, more basic orderbook filtering tool might provide data for building an orderbook filtering logic bot. If one can determine what the trader who executes on a longer timescale is looking for in the orderbook, then the development of algorithms to construct an automated bot which derives trading data from the orderbook might be more tangible for coding something more intense for automation.

Hey everyone, Wiki is up! Sorry if it's a bit crude, we're still looking at extensions. Any recommendations are welcome!

Looks good, this was much, much needed ... and will contribute to the muchness of NTC!  Grin
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Web Based Technical Analysis/Automated Trading Service on: June 01, 2013, 03:20:25 AM
Some days before the bitcoin 2013 conference we saw Litecoin stabilize neatly around the $3 mark into a channel with a suppressed trading range, very narrow. And we saw this happen on the way up from the last correction to $2.5 levels where very large buy and sell walls were placed on the orderbook at btc-e which effectively obscured and made the bid/ask ratio metric unuseable unless filtered with a dynamic view. These large, moving buy and sell walls were articulated such that the trading ranges were constricted to channels and moved up to consolidate trading ranges sideways at the $3 levels.

One of the tools I find sorely lacking in trading Crypto is an interface to filter out the largest buy walls, or see only the buys/sells that are for example in an 8LTC to 45LTC range, and to examine other ranges of orders on the book might give one a perspective on a more accurate market depth, and market depths in different channels of the orderbook.

When we attempt to use the "short orderbook" on btc-e itself to gauge market depth, volume and movements, often we find the buy and sell walls heavily peppered with automated, high frequency, bot spam orders, or micro-orders. Filtering this out, and removing the largest buy/sell walls, would provide a much more accurate picture of buy/sell interests on the "long orderbook".

When performing statistical analysis, one of the first steps in finding a mean, or an average of course is to throw out the lows and the highs and average the middle values, and then of course there are many other metrics which can be derived from the orderbook. Of all of the tools in Crypto trading I find to be the least utilized it is the orderbook.

Update:
We have a couple of domains now,
http://www.networkcoin.com/forum/
and
http://netcoin.io/forum/

NetworkCoin would be a really, really nice name for the coin, as good as, or better in many ways. Netcoin is still good, yes, that's awesome, but to match the coin to the name of the domain is very important.

In the real, brick and mortar world, if I said, "I'll give you dollarines for that", well sure, that's real close ... but marketing and branding really demand that if you CAN match the name of your DOMAIN to your, (product-coin), it's a very good thing. To compete in the SEO namespace of "network" would be very nice as well, a doable challenge.

Many people, when trading real value, and taking real risk, having to make a decision IF "netcoin"="networkcoin"="NTC" ... well why take that risk ... at all?

Nice spreadsheet, thanks for this.

May I suggest a WDC/LTC ratio, suggested by throwing out low and high, and averaging the meaty middle, :-)

Here is the definitive guide to getting WorldCoin connection for the first time:

1. Why this problem happening? because the windows client only had a couple of IP addresses hardcoded into it and they keep timing out due to demand. Once you get a connection for the first time after following this guide this problem will never happen again

2. Close worldcoinqt

3. Delete the .conf file if it's there and peers.dat in the 'roaming' folder of 'appdata' for worldcoin

4. navigate to where worldcoinqt.exe is, (hold ctrl-shift-rightclick) and select open command window there. Paste into the command line:

worldcoin-qt -addnode=82.8.158.89 -addnode=188.194.8.221 -addnode=183.62.232.93 -addnode=124.188.83.171 -addnode=72.222.208.81 -addnode=89.10.226.206 -addnode=173.16.119.230 -addnode=173.16.94.167 -addnode=66.232.186.235 -addnode=71.201.163.216 -addnode=98.193.75.196 -addnode=71.86.91.187 -addnode=63.175.158.121 -addnode=82.8.158.89 -addnode=188.194.8.221 -addnode=183.62.232.93 -addnode=124.188.83.171 -addnode=72.222.208.81 -addnode=89.10.226.206 -addnode=178.148.10.66 -addnode=178.148.10.66

You have to right click to paste. This will add a bunch of healthy nodes and get you started.

i like it but add this node to... 5.135.115.138 its my server so i know its not going to go down XD

Added.

I am assisting a Worldcoin miner and broker with some issues they are having with their wallet, the wallet is out of sync, and is having difficulty syncing. A message is displayed at the very bottom of the wallet client that says: "WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade". This user has been trading and transferring from the wallet with some success, but is concerned, can anybody shed some light on this "WARNING" message?

===============================

WE WILL try to apply this solution or gather information from this solution that will assist, thank you.

Can someone give me fresh nodes to try for worldcoin as I can't get any connections.

It's the same on my laptop too.
Neither can I. A valid node IP would be great. Anyone?

Anyone?

Did you deleted the "conf" file? Ask support, that was the answer they gave me. I have 8 conections now.
Before that it was moving betwen 0 and 1 or 2.

My qt build from the first page didn't even come with a .conf file in it.

Can someone please give me and de_xt a valid node IP? Then we can add it using the addnode command. You can bet there are other people having this same problem

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204894.msg2177180#msg2177180

I'm up and running, mining at wdc.dontmine.me I hope this helps.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2 ("Netcoin"): A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 18, 2013, 05:47:39 AM
A new coin has come out that addresses the inflation vs dollar valuation issue. Ela coin is going to launch in like, ~8-9 hours from now, and it increases the block reward based on the network hashrate, as more people mine, each block becomes more valuable. It's not a straight 1:1 increase, but I still think it's a bit over the top. But it's nice to see that people are actually trying Smiley

Here is an idea, why don't we have it so Netcoin rewards different mining technologies at different times of the day? CPU mining becomes easier for a while each day but ASICS become real hard to mine with. GPU mining becomes difficult for a while each day but ASICS become easier. CPU becomes harder then GPU becomes easier. This should be randomized by a seed node so that it's unpredictable at which time of the day this will occur or who and what technology it will favor.

This would encourage a maximum amount of miners to mine for a maximum amount of time. This is a feature I suggest be included into the Netcoin concept if Tacotime agrees it can and should be implemented. If I'm a miner and I do not know when or how much but I know for sure every day mining will favor my technology, then I will mine this coin every day waiting for my turn for the difficulty to drop way down for my technology.

This will make it so developing ASICS wont be the best way to take advantage of mining. GPUs, CPUs, all sorts of technologies would have to be developed. If Netcoin is designed in a modular fashion then the developer could set it up to optimize to any random technology at any time of day or night. This in my opinion help remove the leverage of ASICS but I don't know if it's possible to pull it off because I don't know the source code or know the intimate details of the hashing algorithms. I would suggest running it in a simulation so we can find out what it's optimizing for.

That's ... innovation, tricky, the human condition is a big factor here, and I like that this is being boldly addressed.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched on: May 17, 2013, 09:25:38 AM
If you are not solo mining then you don't need the worldcoin.conf file.

I deleted it after the pools pop up, and getting 7 conections right now.

The .conf file is needed to seed the wallet with IP addresses, sure, after it seeds you can delete the .conf file, or leave it there. At least that's how it worked for me.
