1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Mining after 21million on: April 19, 2013, 03:28:02 AM
Had a thought, today. From my limited knowledge of mining, one of the primary reasons people participate is to acquire new BTC. These miners process the transactions that keep the Bitcoin network operational.

I know there will come a day some time into the future when the last bit coin will be mined...what happens after that? Will the number of miners decrease drastically? Will the average fee per transaction increase in order to get coins through in a reasonable amount of time? Will this have the potential to affect the stability, even the reliability, of the currency?

I am very interested to hear what solutions have been proposed for these possibilities.

Hello.

I would like to be considered for whitelisting in the following directory:
Bitcoin Forum>Other>Alternate Cryptocurrencies
I would like to participate in the discussion about Ripples (XRP) and Litecoin (LTE).

Thanks in advance,

If Mt Gox starts trading LTC, it'll be a big boost to the ability of the currency to gain value.

I personally would like to invest in both LTC and BTC.  Either way, you win.

Hello.

As one of the many who's attention was grabbed by the spike in BTC last week, I've come here to put my finger to the pulse of the crypto-currency world.  I am interested in BTC, LTC and XRP mining, as well.

What frustrated me at first is that a ripple wallet doesn't work on anything other than a PC browser (as far as my digital arsenal of devices).

When they say 'diversify, diversify, disversify', what they really mean is BTC, LTC & XRP.

Oh, and the lottery:

Here is how this new lotto will work.

If you are a newbie1 and you make a comment in this thread, even if it is just to say "thanks" or "hello", include a bitcoin address in the main
area of the post...

Excellent for outreach to newcomers.  Address: 1Cfiighp5wBozhYFU66it1zu8o1bF6ERN8

I've used several of these to my satisfaction.  I've noticed payouts seem to have shrunk dramatically since the spike in price last week.  I'm already scouting out the newbie lottery, too. Smiley
