Great, thanks for the feedback. I am hesitant to try any new exchanges until I hear from people that have used it. Nice to have another option to buy 0xbtc, I will give it a shot sometime.

Has anyone tried out cryptagio exchange mentioned above?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most promising low market cap coin? on: January 15, 2018, 08:57:46 AM
Thanks for turning me on to $DNA, after I read some more about them I went ahead and picked up a few. Seems like a really smart way to use blockchain in the real world. For the price, seems well worth the risk.

I already have $XSPEC, am excited for what should be coming this year. If they pull off what they are promising, it will be epic.

Any thoughts about $FUN vs $WGR?

My top 3 low market cap holdings

$FUN
$DNA
$XSPEC

 - $FUN just got added to Bitfinex though it was already listed on several others, including Binance. Token for online casinos, a $46 billion market globally. I still treat this one as a real cautious speculative because adoption is key and I dont think its there yet. Time will tell, but I want to be there IF the adoption becomes reality.

 - $DNA  They are monetizing DNA research and using blockchain to secure and share info. Other companies today (23 and Me) have these DNA kits that you send your sample to and they tell you all about your genetic ancestry, history, and certain risk to genetic diseases. They store your DNA info in their database and sell it for research. Encrypgen ($DNA) does the same thing with 2 key differences. 1) they allow you the choice to add your DNA info to their block chain. 2) They dont store it in a centralized database. So DNA research facilities around the world have access (through the purchase of a node) to DNA, your DNA, ONLY IF you choose to share it Smiley Encrypgen is going live with their first node in 2 weeks.

 - $XSPEC has been covered a lot in these forums so I wont.

I also picked up a little Rentberry ICO.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best privacy coin? on: January 15, 2018, 07:58:11 AM
I actually prefer Zencash over Monero and Zcash. I think the secure nodes gives them a platform to do some really interesting things, such as secure publishing. It only cost a fraction of the cost of Monero and Zcash too. The team seems to be making great progress. The improvements from the sapling release of Zcash should really help Zencash this year too. I expect all three to do well this year.

I think Spectrecoin will be the best PoS privacy coin if they pull off the stealth staking and ring signatures for all transactions by default. Another compelling feature, is the wallet will connect to the network even China and Russia due to its Tor implementation. A lot of potential.

Zcoin is worth have a couple of due to its untrusted setup vs Zcash and Zencash. They seem to be making steady progress as well. If you are a whale, they recently implemented masternodes, so you could make some passive income off of that if you believe in the project.

I was hoping QRL would have privacy features since they focus so heavily on security, but they recently stated they will not have any form of anon tech at least when launched. Too bad, as it could have been an interesting one.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin predictions on: January 15, 2018, 07:38:21 AM
I did the math, and if Spectrecoin reaches what XVG did, it will be around 105$ per coin. Which should be reasonable, as Spectrecoin will have superior technical features with 1.4. I think it will have a chance to be adopted for private transactions not unlike Monero, but with a wallet that will work in China and Russia!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $100 in 8 coins each, hodl for 1 year on: January 14, 2018, 08:04:51 AM
Alot of good suggestions in this thread. I had never heard of Sirin Labs, will keep an eye out for if/when any of their products go retail.

I would suggest potentially at maybe throwing a little at Intensecoin and Spectrecoin.

Intensecoin is currently around 5 cents, and are trying to build out a distributed VPN and decentralized network services platform. Its a bit of a risk as they don't have a product completed yet and there are other competitors, but if its successful, it would be a huge ROI.

I like Spectrecoin due to them trying to develop unique features for a privacy coin. What I am interested in a future release in which all transactions are using ring signatures by default and the stealth staking allowing for privacy for the staking rewards. If they hit some of these goals on their roadmap in a timely fashion, I think it could really takeoff. They don't seem to have any professional PR and are a bit underground, so some professional marketing should also see it get a bump.

I like some of the other suggestions like ada, I am interested to see how they do versus eos.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTR] vTorrent - Share with freedom | 2FA | HD | @Bittrex on: January 13, 2018, 09:54:11 PM
Why is this going up? Is someone going to take over the project and start updating it?

This project is being actively developed despite how it looks on this forum. Join slack channel or follow vtr twitter account to get latest news.

Thanks, can you post a link to the slack channel? Its not in the announcement 1st post.

I picked up a few for laughs, will check on them in 6 months or a year.

I think Intensecoin is a pretty safe bet at these prices. They are trying to develop a distributed VPN as well as making a decentralized platform/marketplace for decentralized network services. Its speculative because the product isn't ready, but if they pull it off it could be a 20-25x. Compare the number of tokens they plan to have versus sia, and it could be epic.

I like Spectrecoin as a top pick for privacy\anon. They seems to have great devs and are open about their development. Once transactions use ring signatures by default and the unique stealth staking are rolled out, it will deserve to be up there with Zcash and Monero. Very few privacy coins are actually developing unique features. I think the fact it is PoS is going to help it long term. If it hit the same marketcap as verge did,  it would be about 105-110$, I like that kind potential.

Zencash is probably not considered low marketcap, but as a competitor to Zcash, it seems like a very well run project with quick development. With the securenodes and their other projects, it seems like a good one to hold long term.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: January 12, 2018, 08:12:33 AM
Spectrecoin has some of the best devs with some exciting features planned. I expect it to have a strong move as those that have had money in projects like verge look for other options.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: January 11, 2018, 08:08:17 PM
I had a quick question, is there a difference in staking rewards or behavior between the qt client and the market client?

Well the markets client breaks for change and splits your account into denominations. So I think if you have a lot of coins you are more likely to get consecutive stakes. You could certainly do the same thing though in the QT manually by sending yourself coins a few times. With a smaller balance then they should be pretty similar.

Thanks for the reply. I had one other question, should the staking reward be 1.5 or 20 bay? I had been using the 1.2 qt and would sometimes get a stake, and when I did it would be 1.5. When I tried using the 2.0 qt I would get a stake of 20, but I never had one of those 20 rewards confirm.

It's 20 now after the fork. A lot more people are staking after the fork, so there is more competition now. that explains why it is harder to win a block now.

That makes sense, thanks!

Dogecoin can be useful for transferring between exchanges as it usually has decent liquidity and is way faster and lower fees that btc.

Who knows, the internet is a strange place, if more people find out about it maybe there will be demand. I think the ticker RICKS is pretty sweet.

I think it was probably created for fun, as a joke for Rick and Morty fans.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 02, 2018, 04:25:43 PM
With the privacy coins really taking off, I think blackbytes are going to start getting appreciated for the unique privacy features they have!
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Private Coin? on: December 24, 2017, 05:59:50 AM
Intensecoin looks cool, hopefully it will develop into a usable product. If they can get it to work in censored countries such as Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, it would be really important. If they get that going, it would be huge. If it does, the price could go up 10 or 20 times, if you compare the amount of tokens in circulation compared to Sia.

I like zencash and spectrecoin too. Will be interesting to see how 2018 pans out for the space, a newcomer like QRL or Mobilecoin like was pointed out could be big too.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: December 18, 2017, 06:57:39 AM
Seems like a really safe play at these prices too, around 1$ per coin with just over 20 million in circulation and the new developments coming with 1.4 and 2.0. I think the privacy and fungability are going to get more attention next year too.

Telegram, discord, whatever works and people are comfortable with, as long as we can prevent the abuse of the platform. It sucks, because the slack channel used to be good to drop into to ask questions.
