1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / JP Morgan completely changes its stance on bitcoin on: March 22, 2019, 09:43:54 AM
Its funny how after releasing their own JPM coin JP Morgan have done a complete u-turn and are now endorsing cryptos (providing you still use a normal bank sevice of course). When JP Morgan slated bitcoin last year there was a sudden price drop. Even though they were caught buying bitcoin on the dip for their clients the facade was allowed to continue. Pretending to rubbish publicly something whilst secretly working on it is the oldest trick in the book and its sad that so many people still take taken in by this game. I suspect that any day China is going to declare its support for crypto and lift its ban even though we all know its working on blockchain projects in the background. It just means we have to wait longer for the price to go up I guess.

Here is the JP Morgan article

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will the ICO market survice? on: September 21, 2018, 05:22:27 PM
This years bear market has destroyed the price of most ICO's to ulmost unbearable levels. A lot of ICO's are in financial trouble because the price of ETH has sunk and they have been unable to cash out in time. The quick and easy gains that we had in the ICO market last year have disappeared.

Can the ICO market survive or will investors look for alternative cryptocurrency options to put their money in?
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Resources for learning TA on: September 21, 2018, 05:06:28 PM

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bitcoin Dark and Bitcoin Gold Price spikes on: September 05, 2018, 08:51:46 AM
BCD is having a 184% price spike today and BTCD has gone from $!6.34 up to $100 this week. Are these pump and dumps or is there a reason for the price increases?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SEC announces ether is not a security!!! on: June 14, 2018, 07:28:58 PM
Are bitcoin and ether securities? Finally, one of the biggest questions and debates
in crypto has been answered by the SEC, officially.

In an announcement at Yahoo Finance’s All Market Summit: Crypto in San Francisco
on Thursday, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Director of Corporate
Finance William Hinman said that the commission would not be classifying ether or
bitcoin as a securities.

Obviously this is great news, maybe the uncertainty is partly responsible for this latest bear market. Today prices have picked up so we can only hope it continues upward now we have some clarify from the SEC. Is there more clarity to follow.....

8  Economy / Marketplace / US to to launch probe into btc manipulation on: May 24, 2018, 07:51:07 PM
The Justice Department has opened a criminal probe into whether traders are manipulating the price of Bitcoin and other digital currencies.
https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2018-05-24/u-s-weighs-criminal-probe-into-bitcoin-price-rigging

Well we all know its been going on, but is anything actually going to be done about it. Doubt it.

9  Other / Off-topic / How safe is the nano ledger? on: May 21, 2018, 09:12:54 AM
I just saw this about hoenthe nano legder not being as secure I thougth it was.
https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/03/20/ledger-nano-s-hack-cryptocurrency/

Seem like one of the issues has been resolved with a new firmware update but there are still problems. BTW if anyone hasn't updated the ledgers firmware this article urges you go do it immediately.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / This is a good time to switch off from the crypto market on: May 13, 2018, 10:36:29 AM
People on youtube are saying the current market is being manipulated by the deep state. They are trying to control the market, the same as they did with gold and silver. Trying to get the weak hands to sell so the rich institutions can buy it up on the cheap. They don't loads of new millionaires who don't need to work or rely on the system being created.

There doesn't seem to be an end in sight and as investing in bitcoin and crypto is really addictive, time consuming, fun, energy sapping, exciting and distracting this is the perfect time to switch off for a bit. And its been quite nice not to have everything crypto running in the background of my mind all the time.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / backing up a QT wallet on: May 08, 2018, 11:23:32 AM

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Simalarities with bitcoin and the introduction of the internet on: April 28, 2018, 01:42:40 PM
When the internet was first came out there was a lot of big discussion about it. Its rubbish, it'll never work, its brilliant its going to change everything, its just a fad etc. Then one day we all started using it like it had been there all our lives. And now we can't imagine living without it.

Bitcoin and blockchain is seems to be following the same route. There's so much big discussion about cryptocurrencies but with scaling issues looking light they might be solved (with some currencies) and new blockchain platforms coming into the market could it be as early as next year when the big discussions cease and we all use the technology likes its always been there?

Today I bought something in a London market and said to the store holder you should take bitcoin and she said, 'yes it could be the future of money'. Then I bumped into someone I know and they said exactly the same thing after I mentioned something about bitcoin. This is a significant change in tone because even 4 months ago people usually said, its scam, its a bubble, be careful, I wouldn't invest in that etc.

14  Other / Beginners & Help / posts getting deleted on: April 27, 2018, 10:03:53 AM
I'm doing a signature campaign and only make what I consider to be quality posts. My post count keeps going down and I'm not sure why. I've been notified of deleted posts when a moderator thinks they are off topic so is this something else? Any help would be welcome, thank you.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will there be more bitcoin forks on the nano ledger?? on: April 23, 2018, 01:52:45 PM
I've just seen the ledger now supports BTCP https://support.ledgerwallet.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003294734-How-to-install-and-use-Bitcoin-Private-BTCP- (probably the most worthwhile out of all the forks that happened a few months ago). It would be great if the teams on the other forks would add ledger support because I have not been able to claim forks like bitcoin diamond/united/super etc because I had a segwit address and just couldn't work out how to do it, even though I spent a week on reddit asking and looking for answers. The only solution I've found is to use a wallet service that will claim the coins for me for 10% and I don't really want to do that.

Or if anyone was able to claim their btc forks using a ledger segwit address please tell me how you did, cos I tried everything.
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Any good bitcointalk signature campaigns coming up? on: April 23, 2018, 06:04:26 AM
Does anyone know of any good signature campaigns for ICO's coming up in the next few months? The current one I'm doing will end in early April so I'm starting to look for the next one.
17  Economy / Speculation / Is the bear market behind us now? on: April 20, 2018, 11:29:30 AM
There doesn't seem to have been any media FUD for a while and I keep reading how institutional investors are coming into the market. Is the bear market over and is renewed optimism coming into the market? It easy to see what is happening now as a new bull market but I've been caught out before.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Reseting your wallet on the nano ledger on: April 15, 2018, 05:05:39 PM
If I reset my nano ledger (and get a new 24 word phrase) will I be able to access the Eth wallet (MEW) I had on it before through the 24 word phrase it originally came with?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / projected crypto users 2018 to 2020 on: April 13, 2018, 01:00:29 PM
can anyone point me to any research about projected numbers of users there are likely to be in cryptocurrency in 2018 to 2020.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When will existing blockchains be hackable on: April 12, 2018, 01:18:38 PM
As I understand it bitcoin, ether etc are not hackable with the current technology we have. With quantum computing and AI will this change? And are blockchains able to adapt?
