Two bitcoin mining giants are fighting for the US market.
Bitcoin mining giants Bitmain Technologies and Canaan Creative seem to have found a new area of competition — launching a U.S. IPO. Both companies are set to go head to head in trying to one-up the other in what could be the first-ever crypto-related public offering in the United States.

Both companies had a rough 2018 with bear markets and failed IPO attempts in China affecting them. Canaan's reported net revenue for the first 9 months of 2019 was less than a half of what it was the year earlier and Bitmain closing down its Israeli office and laying off 50 percent of its workforce.
Nevertheless ,their chip prepayments to TSMS have increased , so this could be a signal for recovery.

Bears are in charge following reports that the trustee liquidating the defunct exchange Mt. Gox has offloaded another 25.98 billion yen ($230 million) of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Ukrainian miners make around 100 mil $ annually.
Crypto mining is just one of the segments of the country’s crypto industry awaiting comprehensive regulation.
Ukrainian authorities have so far failed to meet these expectations.
Three draft laws have been filed in the Rada since October but deputies have not made any significant progress towards their adoption. These are the bill “On the Circulation of Cryptocurrency in Ukraine”, the law “On Stimulating the Market of Cryptocurrencies and Their Derivatives”, and a supplementary draft covering taxation of crypto incomes and profits. Moreover, the recently adopted Currency Law did not even mention cryptocurrencies.

Following the VISA and Mastercard clampdown on  bitcoin debit cards earlier,
Lloyds Banking Group has banned its customers from buying Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies on their credit cards.
The ban, starting on Monday, applies to Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland, Halifax and MBNA customers.

This ban doesn't apply to  debit cards,only the credit cards.


Explaining the ban, a Lloyds spokeswoman said: "We continually review our products and procedures and this is part of that."
The BBC asked other major banks about following Lloyds' move, but none had so far responded. The banking trade organisation UK Finance said it had not released any guidance on the matter.
Gillian Guy, the chief executive of Citizens Advice, welcomed the announcement by Lloyds, saying it "shows they recognise the risks of credit card customers running up debt they can't afford," she said.
Barclays told the BBC that at present, UK customers are able to use both their Barclays debit cards and Barclaycard credit cards to purchase crypto-currencies.

"We take precautions to assess affordability before extending credit, flag and prevent any suspicious transactions and also closely monitor credit risk," a spokeswoman said.
